Yep, I'd love some new S1 to S2 upgrades...
Especially Metroid Dread, I don't get why it hasn't been upgraded yet since it's a 1st party title.

What I really hope for though, are the Bayonetta games (not gonna happen) and Astral Chain (also not happening).

There has to be a direct soon. It's a desert Sept-Onward as what is announced other than Metroid. August ain't great, but I haven't played forgotten land so maybe that'll be fun.

There's so many games I wish were enhanced and announced soon

Gents, how many of these "directs" does Nintendo do each year ? Are they mostly before/after a big release ?

Anyway, If I'm not being wrong here, I'd also expect one before Metroid prime 4 (still scheduled for an October release, correct ?).

Also, I hope to God that they'll keep expanding their upgraded BC list, there's just too many games still stuck in NS1 hell® running at 30fps (if that) at sub-optimal (for today's 4K TV's) resolutions - also, the upgrade paths are weird to say the least, Dave the Diver for example is stuck on the NS1 version (30fps) and I don't get how these games will be handled, will there be upgraded NS2 versions (like, say, in the PS Store where a game buy offers both the PS4 and PS5 versions) or will they unlock their performance via patch (paid or not) ?

I mean all the leaks regarding the Switch Pro were correct when the OLED was announced, besides a more powerful chip.
 
I think this is still going to be very muted however I'm still hopeful for Rocket League/Apex Legends patches. Sea of Thieves and MCC are the pipe dream for this one.

Unknown month for MP4 sadly unless I missed some news?

I don't think Nintendo is putting MP4 at the front row for holidays though I don't think they believe it's a huge seller so September/october makes more sense than November
 
Well they don't have many first party switch 2 titles left, which are announced.
My guess would be that they will soon announce the new 3D Mario game for 2026.

If I had a game on Switch 1 without any chances to upgrade it to Switch 2 but I want people to play it the best way possible, I'd the Switch 1 version with unlocked frame rate and some graphical options like on PC, there are games that allow this like The Witcher 3 and some others

Basically this. I wanted to try Just Dance the other day (as I couldn't find it on the store, I was wondering if it had compatibility issues), and even the text appeared so blurry on the console's screen, it was so weird.

Man, at this point, I'd be willing to pay 10 Eurodollars for each upgrade - the Bayonetta games NEED a patch, as does Astral chain (One of the best looking games on the switch 1), as does the Xenoblade trilogy, as does - say - Metroid Dread which is a 1st party title ffs...

I really, REALLY hope that Nintendo doesn't stop at a handful of games.

I don't know the exact number but they usually do one in June during E3 week. I'm guessing the didn't do one this year because the Switch 2 had just launched and had a couple bangers ready to go.

There's usually a September direct, so if they have one in July I'd expect the next in October.

Yeah I'd expect one closer to release, like September/October.

Nintendo also has a new Hyrule Warriors dropping later this year. If I had to guess, Metroid is October and Hyrule Warriors is November.

I don't think they will, specially after seeing the success the new BC program brought to them, but it's not only Nintendo games, third parties are not getting devkits or so it seems, there are games I'd buy on Switch 2 upgraded like No More Heroes and Okami to play using motion controls, etc.

Facts. I pray this upcoming Direct will address these games to be enhanced. That's the reason why I'm not buying Switch 2 yet
 
I think a Direct this week isn't impossible, Nintendo has already had Directs in the same weeks as Pokemon Presents and it's weird how the Pokemon Present waited for DKB to be released
 
Their MO in recent memory is 2 directs that roughly boil down to first half of the year games and 2nd half of the year games. But more accurate to say their fiscal year. And ultimatley it is something closer to Sep thru Feb and Mar thru Aug.

Then they do the indie direct once maybe twice a year. I forget.

Then they have the individual game directs. Reserved for bigger releases.

And the bigger the game the earlier you hear about it as a rule of thumb. Might hear about a big game a 1 direct earlier or 3-4 directs earlier. Once in awhile they announce something way too early cough MP4 cough for reasons other being a big game.

Metroid isnt a system selling as dont see this as nintendos big xmas game, for selling the switch 2 nintendo needs to get a switch 2 only game on, metroid and pokemon are both switch 1 enchanced games, not games that gonna make u run out and buy a switch 2 for when u have a switch, theres only kirby airriders which is from nintendo as hryle warriors is just sponsered by nintendo i dont think there studios make it, so coming upto xmas the only first party switch 2 only game is kirby air riders so there got to be something else as even that game most people wont want to play, i think they need a luigi mansion 4 which speculation about thats might come this yr or a mario remastered game

Nintendo is trying to push the Metroid franchise as much as they can… Dread was the launch title for the Switch OLED don't forget that. Also, don't expect a Luigis Mansion announcement anytime soon.

Yeah we'll see I guess but I'm bored of Mario kart, donkey king will keep me interested for a month and then that me bored if what Nintendo announced so far for the yr is what we get, could see me getting Metroid but it's a switch 1 game so won't be rushing out and the rest Pokémon, hylrule don't interest me in the slightest

-Kirby Air Rider gameplay and release date announcement.
-DK available trailer.
-Three new GC games.
-Pokemon trailer.
-Third party games announcements trailer reel.
-Hylure Warrior new trailer + Date
- Another Mario Kart World is available now trailer.
-Microsoft Switch 2 support trailer, Grounded 2, FH5 and the Pirates game.
-Splatoon Rider gameplay trailer.
-Helldivers 2 or Spider Man 2 announcement trailer 😈.
-Animal Crossing teaser.

U can take the Spider-Man 2 out no chance, but I'd ad to that something more on splatoon raiders, and still think there will be a surprise announcement
