Nintendo will have a Direct after DK Bananza releases - NateTheHate

I really don't expect anything new, just release dates and lot of third party announcements. They have this year covered for first party games.

Assuming this rumor is correct and that it's a Nintendo Direct and not a Direct Mini or Partner Showcase or something else, then we will get 2 or 3 new first party game announcements. They won't necessarily be for 2025, but I can't think of a single general Direct where Nintendo didn't announce multiple new games. If all they want to do is fill in their release schedule and announce some third party titles to buy time until September, they'll do a Partner Showcase for the third party stuff and drop the release date for Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo Today. They're hyper cautious about how they label their presentations because they understand the fan hype/disappointment cycles just like we do.

Maybe instead of a direct they tell us the god damn Metroid Prime 4 release date.

I expect some sort of 3d Mario tease, a release date for Prime 4, Prime 2 and 3 Remaster announcement and shadow drop the same day. Beyond that, i really have no clue what to expect except maybe theyll finally announce Switch 2 versions of Pikmin 4 and Xenoblade X.

I can see them doing a Mario Wonder DX.

As narrow as my sources are, I know of at least one third party, multiplatform game that is being withheld due to a request by Nintendo, so it all sounds true. Although I have no idea when a Direct should air - personally I believed they might want another beat before DK Bananza lauches.

I also though they might want to a launch trailer for DKB in a Direct, to add more hype. I guess we'll know today.

Yeah I hope Nintendo comes out with a game we not seen yet for holidays as prime ok but its a up Rez switch 1 game at heart , Pokémon to me is for kids , and air ride didn't like on GameCube and don't see what the big thing about this is, plus I didn't buy a switch to play third party games which look and play better on my ps5/pc/xbox.and prob already played a year ago. Bored or Mario kart after a week, at least got donkey Kong soon but nintendo need to show what they bringing to switch 2 that been made ground up for it not developed for switch 1 then transferred to switch 2 like all games so far

Eh, they've got DK Bananza this week and Pokemon ZA and Metroid Prime during the Holidays. That's already pretty stacked. I doubt we're going to see any other big games for this year.

Hopefully splatoon raiders , a new Mario game or galaxy 2 remaster or Luigi mansion, like I said to me Pokémon is for kids and prime is a switch 1 game just running slightly higher Rez and not really a system seller, why go out to buy a switch 2 at Xmas when u can play the same game on a switch 1

I wish the games that got "Free Upgrades" on Switch 2 - all got the same treatment.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are really good now - meanwhile Xenoblade 3 there's barely no difference?

So with that said, I would really appreciate more proper "Switch 2" versions of Switch 1 games shown at the direct - and a Xenoblade Collection for Switch 2 would be great. How Xenoblade 3 wasn't one of these games like TOTK and BOTW given when it was developed and it's scale is insane.

The next Direct will announce a new Mario Platformer. Source My Uncle.
Woul be a cool plot twist if the last boss in Bananza is Mario who beats you and "rescues" Pauline (against her will). And takes her to New Donk City.

Who is the villain now, huh?

Mario was really behind Void company all along. They should make the Villian Jane Goodall, Gorillas want to live in peace, but she will not leave them alone.

I wanna see what Monolith has been up to. I'm hoping it's not crossgen but I expect a lot of their stuff will be. There's just too many Switches out there.

I could be wrong but I don't think Monolith Soft ever did cross gen with their games.

Also so far the only first party game that's cross gen is MP4, MKWorld and upcoming DK Bananza are not cross gen.

Pokemon and Metroid are both cross-gen, and Rhythm Heaven/Tamodachi Life are both announced as Switch 1 games as well. Nintendo definitely doesn't seem to be shying away from Switch 1 support, though their big tentpole stuff is going to be Switch 2, I imagine, yes.

Monolith Soft I imagine will want to move to Switch 2 earlier than later, but who knows, maybe they are not ready yet to say goodbye to the very strong audience for themselves on the Switch 1 that they built just yet.

I wish all the games got 60 FPS upgrades like Hyrule Warriors Definitive did.

You forgot Pokémon Legends Z-A...but yea not that many crossgen games with Switch 2, thankfully.

I'm loving DK, but yeah Nintendo has to announce some more stuff. The coming soon section in the eShop for Switch 2 titles leaves a lot to be desired.

Drag X Drive, Madden, Wild Hearts port, a few Switch 2 upgrades, and Pokemon Z-A

Yeah its kinda crap.

Also, we should be getting new Switch 2 updates for Switch 1 games on a weekly basis There are SOOOO many games that haven't been updated and frankly look like crap running at 720p or below on the Switch 2's 1080p lcd screen.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of updated exclusives so far and worried that theyre never coming, since nintendo fans seem all to willing to accept this.

Mario Wonder, Metroid dread and Prime, pikmin 3 and 4, smash ultimate, animal crossing, yoshi, kirby games, pokemon arceus, luigis mansion 2+3, all the xenoblades, bayonetta 3, all the fire emblems, age of calamity, skyward sword, the dk platformers

How dare you forget Metroid Prime 4.

Would like to see them announce more NGC games for the virtual console, but specifically the 3rd party games that were really important on that console...

Maybe a viewtiful Joe? COME ON NINTENDO.

I'm hoping the Madden on Switch 2 looks nearly as good as the console ones. If it's good enough, it'll be the first Madden I will have bought in a very long time.
