I have come to the conclusion that the (majority) of Russian people & its leadership, after their WWII suffering (20 million+ dead), have simply become desensitized to the cost of war and its casualties, on either their own side or 'the enemy's' . The WWII experience is burned into their children's psyche from their earliest school days.

They simply have no empathy for the suffering of others, because it can never compare to their own.

Poland lost more of a percent of population in WW2. Also, the Holodomor happened before WW2 broke out, which indicates that they were already somewhat desensitized to mass deaths. Putin has gone on record saying that the greatest tragedy of the 20th century was the fall and break up of the soviet empire. He doesn't care about mass deaths. The reason why he fights is to reject what he calls the "lies" of the post-war era such as Human Rights, Democracy, Freedom, World Peace.

Congratulations. Like 99.9% of the people here, you also fell for 0815 propaganda, which is practiced by everyone involved in this shit. It does not matter if something is true because for most people, something about it remains stuck in their heads, because they are too stupid or lazy to check something, and that's what it's all about.

Check your sources and use your brain. Representatives of the US government and even the victims of the Ukrainian delegation have said this whole "poisoning" story is not true.

Multiple sources have confirmed Roman Abramovich's side of the story. If you remember about the time Roman was making statements about how he wanted peace, and Pooty was making statements about how some of his pet kleptocrats were traitors who were too attached to western luxuries and "gender freedoms". Remember that weird story from Ukraine about them shooting a traitor at the negotiations, which they walked back and then gave his corpse a medal? If that doesn't raise suspicions about the Ukrainian narrative, you are not the propaganda master you think you are.

It is, but 'bike' has come to form the image of the control mechanism in this sense, rather than the number of wheels.

And 'quadcycle' or 'quadracycle' are too mealy. There's also 'trike' if you're going to take issue with it.
Well, a trike would be a three wheeler…which I haven’t seen in a long time because they’re so unstable

Ah okay, so I guess you are right and the alleged Ukrainian victims of the delegation and the representatives of the US government are lying.

Finally we can also exclude all other possible reasons. Thank you again for your objective and factual research.

By the way, my point here is not Ukraine vs Russia, but how "thinktanks" and other organizations can twist the narrative, post bs in the most absurd way and spread things out into the world that stick with most people forever, regardless of whether they true or fake.

Your position is that the CIA and politicians never lie?

Mate, Bellingcat have an incredibly good record. And major new outlets ran the story so there's almost certainly something to it.

The usual problem with you lot who go 'check the facts yourself' is that you almost never provide any alternative information, if you do it's usually from a dodgy source, and you almost never practice what you preach.

I honestly have no idea WTF did Putin try to achieve with that mass poison attempt.

Feels more like a "for the evulz" sort of stunt, like "I'm crashing this plane with no survivors" mindless chaos for the sake of chaos.
Sending a message that he has no interest in making concessions, clearly.

What a brave guy you are. Let others die en masse, as long as I feel morally okay.
I have a real problem taking you seriously. Maybe start reading AND understanding what i have said.
I think "I’m of course against war BUT..." is better than the good old "good versus evil" and cheering when people on the "wrong" side die.

With people like you, it doesn't matter how many times you write that you condemn this war and that Putin has made a big mistake that can't be justified with anything. You always rattle off your old bullshit and don't even realize that we agree on the core issue (Putin started this war and must be held accountable).

That's pretty good news, if true. Does seem to be a real shift occuring, with Russia having to withdraw across the line.
I hope so, but at the same time, I would not trust Putin, but I guess Even Zelensky does the same.

Looks like he fired it too close. NLAW min range is 20m. Should've waited for the tank to drive off a bit more first.
Look, you have to arm the missile first using the included app. If you enter a fake email or uncheck "receive updates and product offers" the missile won't go off.

If they teach how to contextualize things properly there, then we could become friends over there and have a drink together.
I do enjoy it when someone tries suiciding their account.

Do be considerate, and wait until I've stocked back up on popcorn though.

Apparently they're stealing carpets too, as the drones have gotten to them.

Doesn't seem to have gone to well though (NSFL):

Every time I hear more news about this badass Russian military getting its ass kicked and shit stolen, I’m reminded of this Bill Hicks joke about Desert Storm.

“They said ‘yes things are going well but we’ve yet to face Saddam’s elite Republican Guard…’ but pretty soon after that the elite Republican Guard just became the Republican Guard, then the republicans just made this shit up about there being a guard…”

They should just put out cases of vodka and the russians would be even worse. 1/3 of russian men are alcoholics and probably even more in the army. They would be driving their own tanks into ditches everywhere.

The residents of Belgorod got a nice fireworks show, courtesy of the local ammo depot:

It is unknown whether Ukrainian special forces decided to pay their neighbor a visit, or if it was yet another case of the famous Russian health & safety regulations.

I guess the crates of ammo getting taken out of the bunkers are getting older and less stable as the conflict continues. Maybe someone bumped into some 122mm rockets from the 1960s.

Now that Russia claims to be de-escalating (though not agreeing to a ceasefire), would it be fair to say that we got here - in part - because of the assistance of western nations by providing arms and military training to Ukrainians?

Well, it happens in Russia sometimes...
