unfortunately, morale, strategy, tactics, secrets, everything is complicated, the more open the country the more vulnerable to the realities of war.
and the Ukrainians are the good guys in the conflict with, but Ukraine has plenty of problems /corruption / regional strafe of its own after the war is over things are likely to still be a mess there.
the other thing is the reality of Crimea, Crimea was pretty pro-Russia before 2014, part of the reason conquest was fairly easy in 2014, and has just been stocked with Russians since, plus taking militarily speaking, taking Crimea will be a nightmare as from the Ukrainian side its basically an island fortress. At the same time leaving Crimea under Russian control is a major long term security issue. There isn't really a good outcome with Crimea, hopefully in the mean time Ukraine focuses on kicking Russia out of every other inch of the country, Putin will die (the mind numbing loyalty to him tells me that somehow he isn't finished when Ukraine wins, and as long as he's there the threat of war reamains) and someone less terrible replaces him

Count how many can be seen before a strike, then count how many can be seen still alive (moving/running) afterwards.

At most it severely limits his foreign refuge options. If anything they'll likely spin this to fit their "the west is evil" narrative they're pushing.
Besides, this news will barely reach anyone in Russia since the regime have the media on a tight leash. The first thing that has to get knocked down are the state sponsored propaganda channels. Until then, most of the Russian population will be none the wiser.

ICC ruling doesn't mean much in the short term. It doesn't have a say in Russia, just like it doesn't have a say in the USA. When it will become important is when Russia decides to rejoin the world and seek something from a country that does have ICC oversight, or a partner of a country that does.
But for as long as Russia and its partners want to pretend they can go their own way it's just some PR and not much else.

Well this ruling limits his travel options, given that the ICC's 123 member states must arrest him and turn him over, if he is found lurking and oozing his way within their borders. The ICC haven't finished yet with their list of charges, and most likely will also indict Putin's ministers and associates as well.

They simply haven't a clue how to conduct a war at this scale against a capable adversary, the shitshow that is the Russian command structure doesn't allow for modern warfare on such a large front, they have no combined arms ability whatsoever with everyone seemingly doing their own thing.
I mean surely their must be high level meetings where they have admitted defeat and know they cannot win nor sustain this war, the west just keeps pumping more and more arms into Ukraine and they all know it, yet they keep at it and when their weapons factories deliver a few more missiles they simply launch them at cities for no strategic value, it's all so fucking useless and an utter waste.

This isn't anything new. Russian officials have said they want 'peace' on numerous occasions now, but the minimum they want from any peace settlement is to keep all of the land they currently occupy, which is completely unacceptable.

Czech contributions are low to begin with. The US can maintain its military support indefinitely. The UK will likely follow US example. Sending weapons designed to fight Russia to be shot at Russia is a bargain.

Republicans love defense spending. Selling/giving weapons to Ukraine creates American jobs and makes it easier to green light new spending as stockpiles of older equipment dry up. MAGA republicans lack the numbers to override bipartisan legislation since the Democratic party is already going to support the continued support. I wouldn't worry too much.
