Does the Amiibo help with getting an unbreakable sword? (Yes, I would buy it then)

Well Smash Bros Link gives you Epona and the Twilight Princess costume, not sure on the unbreakable sword.

Yeah, the Master Sword. How "early" you obtain it is dependent on what tasks you're willing to accomplish, it needs 13 hearts to get or you can get it with less hearts if you recover more of your memories.

The Master Sword has a cooldown period after a couple of uses but it will never break, nor can you throw it.

Interesting, do we know how much memories we need to get to pick up the Master Sword.

I can't figure out what to do in the Ruta dungeon. I have three switches activated and the only one I can access but can't solve is the one in the stationary cog. I tried freezing time on the ball on the inner part of the wheel to knock it up into the goal but it slides back down.

It's probably a super simple solution I'm overlooking but I'm exhausted.

If anyone has a solution, let me know :D

The roof is open up top so if you angle the Elephant trunk correctly it should cause the water to flow to the gear thus rotating it.

No clue, I think there are 30 memories total so maybe at least 15. Still need to get all 30 for the true ending.

I hope it's an awesome ending, I don't think people are going to achieve it for another week or so, how exciting.

Cool, thanks for the response!

What does the cooldown period mean, that you cannot use it for some time after you used it some, or that it is weaker / does not shoot beams? Also, can this, in addition, be mitigated?

I really hope Nintendo never does weapon durability again, even if this game is super successful.

There is a final Dungeon in the game. It is called Forgotten Temple, you are granted access to it after clearing all 120 Shrines. Clearing the temple grants Link the tunic of Breath of The Wild.

Anyone else confirm this?

So 6 Dungeons and 3 Mazes/Castles?

I think its power is set to zero for 6 minutes, the amount of times you can use it is presumably very high. You can probably get 80+ hits in before the recharge, and then wait 6 minutes while using other weapons. In the presence of malice, as in dungeons and hyrule castle, the sword is invincible and has doubled power.

It does not cooldown over time hough, so if I see I won't need it for a while, I am better of slashing like a maniac until the cooldown period starts rather than just leave it be, correct?

EDIT: Is malice also present in shrines?

Yooo, we need confirmation of this. I'd love to play through an extra dungeon.

Pretty much, yeah. By the time you'll get the Master Sword (either 13 hearts or some # of memories) you'll have enough extra weapons that the Master Sword losing charge won't be that much of an issue. Its base power is only 30.

I don't think malice is present in shrines.

Thank you :). Since what I'll be doing is take a guide to specifically hunt down all memories and get as many hearts as I need to to get the Master Sword, before doing anything else, "by the time" should be quite early in the game - I will not enter any dungeon without the Master Sword [if this is possible] and the lowest number of Shrines possible. Then I'll throw away the guide and play a Zelda game.

Thanks for all the spoilers and heads up info. I am now stepping out of this thread until I have played a bit of it. I avoided certain spoilers as not to spoil too much. Can't believe it has been this long since a console 3D Zelda.

Did we find out if Kokiris are in this game or not ? (I know there are Koroks but there was the Pastebin thing mentionning Kokiri and the suspicious 100 years old Loli)

A bit disapointed with how extremely simple the story is in this game. It basically has no dept and all the plot is revealed by the king when he reveals who he is.

Simple is what we needed.

There are things about this game that sound awesome to me. I love the fact that it's extremely open, and you have a ton of options, I love the increased difficulty, I love the customization, I love that I can break, and ride all sorts of animals, I love the art style, I love the OST, I love the cooking...

I love a lot of it. I am extremely depressed though... My Fiance is a Zelda fanatic, in that she loves Zelda games, but she's also picky as hell. I promised her I wouldn't spoil anything, and that she would get to play it first (because I tend to ruin the experience if I play it first)

She is going to hate:

Voice Acting - This will turn her off BIG TIME

The Unguided feel of the game... She claims to love "figuring out a game for herself" but I've seen her play an unguided game before, if she feels like she has to figure shit out for herself she basically gives up and stops playing...

Romantic play between Zelda and Link (admit it, they haven't really done this except with Skyward Sword, and that game also irritated her with its animu tropes)

Constantly degrading weapons with no way to repair them (I mean come on, even I hate that, at least give us a way to repair our weapons)

The samey feel of the bosses...

So yeah, I know how to get it running on my WiiU, and I could be playing it right now, but I promised her I wouldn't get it early, nor would I play it before she beats it... So here I am agonizing over what looks to be an awesome and fun game... She doesn't even seem excited for it... She also has a habit of getting a game, and not playing it for like 5 days after release.... I'm dying reading spoilers because it's the only way I am going to really be able to experience this game before June. Goddamn...

This sounds great.

Any confirmation that there are more real dungeons than the Devine beasts and Hyrule Castle (if the castle can even be considered one)?

Simple is what we needed.

Nope.

That's open world game design for you.

Sure. Like The Witcher, Horizon and GTAV do. Fuck off.

This sounds great.

Sounds like a great Zelda game to me.

If you take story aside, yes.

Wind Waker had a lot more depth and the story is basically the same: Dead people awaiting for the hero to appear so they can fuck the bad guy who killed them. The king that wants to save the kingdom and the princess that ends up captured/imprissoned.

It feels even worse when now you can read lore in objects and that is mostly underused, because it is a very big missed opportunity to create a "hidden" plot in the game without forcing you to watch cinematics. Like Dark Souls does. Or even like Mario Galaxy does in the book reading sessions.

As a callback to Zelda 1, it absolutely is. Hell this feels like a sequel way down the line after Zelda 1. I sincerely love the idea that Ganon is literally scorched earth incarnate this far down the line, the idea that they tried to be prepared but got fucked anyway, etc.

The only way I want my Zelda games is story aside.

The exact reason I have been looking forward to this game since they've shown it.

I'm pretty sad about the story too. I hope what's there is good and all, but I just don't think an open world is worth losing a story to me. I want Zelda to have some focus on story, but it'll probably be years before I get to see that happen :/

Ganon is amazing. Especially because (ending spoilers)
by the end of the game you learn that Ganon no longer has any desire to reincarnate, all he wants to do at this point in the timeline is fuck up and kill Link.

The very first thing i did after doing the first four shrines was run to Hyrule Castle to Climb it!

Also, theres interesting treasure towards the top. You can find
5 Ancient Arrow
in a chest.

I managed to kill Waterblight Ganon with the weapons I found, but died to Windblight. I was mainly after the Hylian Shield, which i still have not found.

Another cool thing i found out, if you get to a room with a boss (The Gates / Ganon's Boss Rush area), you can skip the cutscene by climbing the wall. I climbed the wall to the staircase to continue climbing Hyrule Castle (Waterblight never spawned). lol

This is pretty hilarious when you think about it. At some point Ganon is in the sacred realm and thinks to himself:

"Man, you know what...FUCK LINK!"

Not really

Okay I'll bite. Sure, some games are able to navigate linear story telling with non-linear gameplay serviceably. Like the Witcher 3. But they are still concepts that are diametrically opposed to each other. Spending hours of game time doing sand box content and side quests, and then doing scripted story beats in between in my opinion, isn't good story telling. The pace of story beat > hours of side content and fucking around > next story beat that acts as if no time has lapsed between the previous one and now doesn't work for me. Sorry guys.

I'm glad Zelda is the way it is.

Do we know this yet:

1) Number of Koroks to find? (is it 900 like that guide leak said?)
2) Number of Shrines? (same, is it 120 confirmed?)
3) Can Shrines be played over again after you've beaten them? (like challenges reset?)
