Finally completed all the challenges, happy about it! That Gang member taunt challenge after taking over territories was pretty difficult, gangs were sparse! But absolutely brilliant through and through, still replaying co-op just for kicks- bring on the Mission packs!

ah ok, thanks. hope they have other merch. not a fan of bobbleheads, personally.

yeah..but I am buying a shirt and a Bobbleheads (Shaundi one) just to support Saints Row..and rising the chance for them to make the saints Devil Angel figure.

Speaking of interesting easter eggs, found these the other night (all of which are on the southwestern-most ship):

yeah game is filled with tons of easter eggs and references ..here some I remember

-There is a Red Faction Guerrilla huge easter egg, music and line quote. ( also Tron and Star Wars)
-Oleg. Pierce wanted to call Oleg Bricks ( Borderlands)
-STAG Weapons and vehicles are inspired completely from EDF
-Zimos call you "Playa", just like Julius Little
-Jester's dead ( Top Gun)
-Volition's face logo statues
-Keyboard cat in the first mission, also that stupid looking dog meme.
-Painting of Niko Bellic.

and many other..

I just love when game do this.

Jumping back in with a new character. This time I'm going to focus on buying stuff up before I go through the story stuff. I feel like the first time through I didn't do enough of that.

Also just found an Attrazione and was surprised at how fast the thing is.

Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions on Fraud and Mayhem missions - I'd completely missed the fact that you could destroy the 'level furniture' as well as the police/gangs - helped a ton in finishing these missions!

Wow, I need to look for this. I've been rocking a Raycaster since the first 30 seconds of being let into the city. I haven't seen anything much better which was pretty disappointing.

Ew, this game is gross, really regret buying it. Bububut it's fun. Bullshit, it's just retarded. Can't wait for GTA V, return of the King bitch.

Actually, I'd hope they didn't, except for the part about customization. Most of the complaints are inane, some are just weird.

This game is great. Dropped Skyrim and MGS Collection for this. I kind of wish SR3 had a quick travel but then I find myself really enjoying the ease of driving, discover and carjacking. Also, I love you can teleport back to the shore if you jump into the water. No more having to find that perfect height platform to get out of the water.

I really do understand that it could be a bit too much at times regarding to pacing etc. I mean personally I LOVED SR1 because it was still a bit realistic, the pipebombs really felt like they had a good weight to it, the explosions were certainly fantastic as well. Things got crazier in SR2, and now in SR3 the crazy is turned up to 200 like all the time :p.

Yeah, but I think that's a good thing. This is the natural progression from SR2, and SR2 kinda stumbled by making several of the plot points kinda dull. I'm trying to think back to the story missions, and I think I remember a half-dozen plot-points and maybe two missions across all arcs, most of them from the Brotherhood. I didn't even remember shooting Jay Mohr in the face until I saw a recap video on youtube. Sure, maybe SR3 won't be memorable either, but they made a good try at giving you missions that will stick with you.

I'm guessing I will have to actually upload a character and get the trophy to stop this messaging from popping up?

Even she is tired of its shenanigans :p

I can't avoid doing wheelies all the time when driving bikes btw... though from what little I've played of SR2 (thanks for the promotion on PSN, Volition/THQ) it seems easier to do there. The driving feels snappier in general, while the shooting is faster and more responsive on SR3... but I miss the SR2 gore :p

Volition needs to watch this and take notes imo, but Im sure they have seen it already.

Btw speaking of easter eggs I already said this but I found a pikachu looking doll the other day in between a few trees. lol :D

I havent liked any of the reviews ive seen of this man.
He always is so nitpicky that sounds like he doesnt enjoy games at all. And the majority of times he contradicts himself.

The only right thing he said in that review was the character customization.
I dont want something in the middle of GTA and Saints Row 3 for Saints Row 4, I want all the wackiness and fun as I can have. I dont want progression of shitty losser to boss LIKE IN ALL FUCKING SANDBOX GAMES. The good thing of Saints Row 3 is that you are always amazing, something games dont do too much, and that getting an air strike in the first missions makes you say "this cant get any crazier, its already too good" but it does! And comes more wacky and awesome weapons as the game progresses.

I dont know how people think that SR2 story is more memorable than SR3. IMO all those realistic problems the character had didnt fit the game at all (like for example the part were you are attacked by the ninja guys at Gats home and her girlfriend is killed). The saints Row 3 story wasnt godly or had materpiece writting with amazing plotwists, but it was so fun, so wacky, and the cutscenes are so awesome that is miles better.
I have some problems with the story (like how Gat
is killed at the start
) but little things like this dont shade the spectacle the game later has.

So i hope they dont take any notes (aside of character customisation) of that videogame snob.

I think SR2 was my GOTY as well....hmm.

It was mine as well, but I think I prefer SR3. If THQ doesn't die before then, I do hope they make SR4 be a content upgrade the way SR2 kinda was.

And the cutscene with gat that you are talking about is like almost the best one...

Yeah, but that's kind of the problem, right? I mean, that is one of the best cutscenes in the game. SR2's story was interesting because it painted the main character as being just as psychopathic in-cutscene as you are when just running around, but I didn't find it particularly memorable.

Also, I think it went a little too far towards psychopathic -- I think SR3 strikes a better balance. Because, yeah, players are all playing psychos in open world games, but they're playing completely goofy, utterly ridiculous psychos, and SR2's treatment of the boss was really, really self-serious. Not that SR3's balance is necessarily perfect, I could see some people finding it too goofy. I think goofy trumps serious any day of the week for videogames, but then I think games are all kind of fundamentally ridiculous in the first place.

SR2 is currently my game of the gen. I'll have to finish up SR3 before I can see if it ends up taking the top spot. I'm not sure if I can pick a favourite between the two right now - both are so good but in such different ways.

SR2's seriousness wasn't what made the story so memorable, it was the characters and the interplay between them. Anyone who enjoyed SR3 owes it to themselves to check out SR2. If you can get past the dated graphics and lack of flashy takedowns, you'll find a lot to love.

Update on the fix for the default female template's Jar Jar Binks mouth. Mouth Depth 30, Chin Depth 30, Chin Elevation 30. My previous values brought the chin back a shade too far. Looked fine in gameplay, but was slightly off during cutscenes. These values are perfect. Once that's in place, it's easy to further adjust the template as you see fit.

Maybe I'm forgetting, but what interplay between the characters do you mean? And I don't know, as I said before, the most memorable part of SR2's story was the Brotherhood quest, and that's some crazy revenge porn escalation/boss dick-waving. Except I wasn't so crazy about the part where Carlos bites it.

Man... the chainsaw is just fun.

Also FUCK genki is one tough bastard. I found him again later and he was going on a tazer rampage just stunning everyone in sight. It was amazing. Beating him was immensely satisfying.

Neuromancer, having trouble with the character, I will keep trying!

Also, I finished the game today. (spoilers to last mission)
Racing towards Shaundi with "I need a Hero" playing
has to be one of the best endings this year. What decision is valid in the end? I did the mission twice, does it mean the second decision stays true? However I checked both times and I cannot
call Shaundi for back-up
.

Beat the game a few days ago, and 100%'d it 1000/1000 gs and all

I've got to say, my two favorite moments through out the entire game were towards the end, simply by the use of song.

"You're the Best," right when they give you the chainsaw in Murderbrawl XXXI then "I Need a Hero" when you have to choose to save Shaundi or go after Killbane

The use of those two songs was just so damn perfect, made me laugh so hard.

Also,
Zombie Gat
is the best homie ever... just agros EVERYTHING.

I've never played a Saints Row game before this so I wasn't sure what to expect. The game has already managed to make me smile and I've only been playing for an hour, soo good. It also has one of the best character customizations I've come across, however I'm wondering if you have an option to change your clothing as the game progresses?

Yes, there's some stores where you can buy different clothes and a few stores where you can buy some clothes that aren't in the normal stores. They have different names from the normal stores.

I just started this a bit ago, and I'm loving the game already. The references to Spaceballs was amazing. I'm going to give it more attention tomorrow, I just wanted to start the game a bit tonight.

Alright, I'm definitely going to platinum this. Which is saying something considering I normally don't give a crap about trophies/achievements. I've never done this before save for that avatar game where you just mash B in a corner. Should be fun beating this too total completion :D

And I don't know, as I said before, the most memorable part of SR2's story was the Brotherhood quest, and that's some crazy revenge porn escalation/boss dick-waving. Except I wasn't so crazy about the part where Carlos bites it.

The Brotherhood story is the best example, in which Maero starts as a would-be ally and turns into one of the Boss' major nemeses. But Vogel has some beautiful moments, such as when he allows himself to be held hostage at the Saints HQ while the Boss follows up on his Ronin intel; and there's the amazing mission which starts with the Boss being grabbed and drugged before fighting his way out of the General's limo. How about the scene in which Shogo crashes Aisha's funeral? One of the best set-ups in the game, and with a fantastic ending to the scene.

I didn't love Carlos' death either, but I think it was handled pretty well, and it set up the Jessica revenge story perfectly. As I said, I don't prefer the more serious or the more comical tone - they're both great - but the characters in SR2 were incredibly strong, and they made me give a shit about the story. I also loved the brutality of the cutscenes and style of the action in SR2. Very well directed. There was a rawness to everything that was just spectacular to watch, all totally in keeping with the way the game is played.

Anyone else had achievements vanishing on PC? I replayed last mission twice and got both achievements, restarted Steam, look at achievements page - no achievements given for last mission. WTF?

I've not had that but I've had a massive ? achievement since the first few missions. It just sits there in the done achievement list. Random.

I've got that ? achievement too - no idea what its for but it must have been very early on as I got it before the first mission

God! the pathfinding in this game is atrocious. Snatch missions are especially aggravating as fuck. I wish they just let the 'hos' do that ninja jump into your car if they're having serious problems finding the correct path, instead of circling seven times with fidgety animation as two morningstar brutes in SUVs plow the shit out of them.

Haha, this annoyed the hell out of me too! For the traficking mission make sure you have the molotov cocktails fully upgraded for insta-kills of cars.

So much fun! It's like Rockstar in an alternate dimension continued making GTA games in the same spirit as the PS2 trilogy. I really shouldn't be enjoying this game as much as I am and it's the first game in a long time I'm actually considering 100%ing.

It's shonky in places but so fun and genuinely funny - I'm playing with Hispanic female voice and she NAILS IT, really pitches it perfectly between aggressive and playful and I find that playing with a female character has made it all a bit less dudebro and more characterful. GREAT voice work from whoever's doing it - she adds so much humour in her delivery of the lines and made me like my character in the game a lot.

Such an over the top game that's not afraid to actually be a GAME.

Never EVER expected to enjoy this as much as I am. Pure daft escapist fun!

That what I wanted to say. I never felt anything about Gat's scene in SR2, because I dont feel it blends well together with what the game wanted. The serious revenge gang thing just feels to GTA too me.
I contrast I love Olegs dialogs, I think Pierce is awesome, Zimos is really fun, the Boss is feels wacky and fun and the cutscene with
fucking Burt Reynolds
is just amazing, those things are not materfully written, but they are just so fun I think it triumphs in what SR2 wanted to tell me.

Maybe the game turned too goofy for fans of SR2, but I was not really a fan of its story on the first place.

I've got that ? achievement too - no idea what its for but it must have been very early on as I got it before the first mission
I also have it, it counts as you have so its no problem. Its the treat well/bad 500 people or something like that.

I completely agree. Her name is Rebecca Sanabria and it seems like she worked on SR2 as well. I can't imagine playing as male now to be honest :p
