SaltyBet's Dream Cast Casino Thread 2 - Always bet on DBZ

Tensi vs Aleti or Samurai vs. Rin Rin would be good follow ups

Neither 1 of these matches is fair lol. unless salty has regular tensi. I only seen the op one which is way too strong for aleti. Also rin rin is really op even samurai would lose hard.

Exhibitions this week were better than last. If not the most competitive. I legit laughed at the Broli match. Still they can be 10x better.

I must be the only one who thinks Goku's dodge is kinda bs. Not much different than the stalactite spam Imo.

I wanna see Donald vs Goku, both have amazing dodges.

Amazing, Strong Guy won his first fight ever ;D

(Also, I was this close to going all in on Roll, I am so glad I did not)

EDIT: Now Tewi won!

Upsets, upsets everywhere!

All in all I started the tourney with 2.6K and ended with about 3.4. Lots of that money came from red Tyson, Lavos Spawn and Goku, even thought I only bet about 150 on each of them, so I could've made a lot more. I think the only reason Bubbles didn't do as bad against Petshop as the rest of its opponents was because she was the only character short enough to avoid the grab into super combo, and even then Petshop was still broken as hell.

Man, that Goku... he was a bit teleport-happy at times, but didn't need mexican HP or supers to do quite well (he also destroyed North America way too many times with his genkidamas). I loved how he'd use instant transmission to avoid projectile-based supers without fail, and it even looked like he could instant transmission to cancel hitstun, which'd probably render multi-hit supers useless against him. He's the best fair DBZ character I've seen by quite a long shot.

The exhibition matches werekind of okay as well, even though we still got our fair share of stupid match-ups.

Man, almost had that Letty vs. Neco Chaos dream.

FYI, Suwako and Letty (and also Sanae) are normally crap but if they come across anyone with a huge hitbox you should definitely think twice. They normally go to Super Jump height and spam projectiles and while that doesn't work for normal characters, it's definitely in their favor against bigger characters.

sitting at my minimum, $70

bet all in on spongebob

Odds 1:66.7 ($4673)

feels good man

Yeah, it's a lot wiser to just bet on the upsets when you're at your minimum, since the return on safer bets isn't even worth it most of the time. That's how I won over 8K on the Dio vs Killer Whale match, even though I ended up losing most of it afterwards on several bad high-stakes bets.

Nowadays, I mostly bet around 5% of my money on any fight, possibly more if I'm feeling confident, but always leaving anywhere from $500 tt 1K in leftover money to avoid heading straight back to the salt mines.

I noticed something before about Hoshi Kage. Some projectiles don't seem to trigger her smoke bombs, she's just fully immune to them as long as she's not on cooldown.

She still kinda sucks, but it makes her weird against projectile-heavy people.

Edit: Thank you Galaxy Fight Juri!

Shame she's not as good as Rolf (or Kazuma), but it's nice to see more Galaxy Fight :p

What happened?

And damn, I missed a Tewi victory...

Remilia died first round as usual and all of the people that bet against her got all started trash talking big time ("We're going to have some new millionaires tonight, dreams etc.) Then they all shut up because, you know, it's Remilia lol

The usual Remilia branded Salt, Good quality stuff.

And I think we have a new record:

Yuyuko & youmu - $41713940, Scorpion - $8701

dG2LBRq.png

Naturally, team Touhou won that one.

Nvm: Looks like at some point a Rare Akuma fight broke the 8000+:1.

And we had an amazing performance from Super Girl, she managed to take ~50% of HP from Arrange_mishio on all the 3 rounds that the match lasted. (Yeah, it went 3:0 anyway)

Arrange Shiori vs. Chise
Odds 1000.8:1

Also I seem to have missed an Acirno fight, anyone know what happened?

It was against a robot but I don't remember his name, looks like a super deformed Gundam. It won one round because he has a OHKO super.

Edit: It's called Gaogaigar and it's on right now.

She played a fantastic game against Gaogaigar (1HKO, super cheap stunts, hitbox, easy 40%+ combos, etc.). She avoided the stunts completely and proceeded to destroy that filthy thing. (With 1 perfect)
However, Gaogaigar got 1 round with its 1HKO.

A few matches later, Gao fought Ms. Fanservice. It went 3:0 and I doubt that Fanservice managed to take 10% of Gao's health on any round. (And I think he got at least 1 perfect)

Suika, I should have never doubted you

(She just beat Alien Queen with only a little trouble, mainly in the first round)

I almost want to put Suika Ibuki (aka Crunkest Waifu) in my "will bet because of character loyalty" group, but I always feel like she gets the weirdest matchups where she's either thoroughly competent/almost dominating or gets lit up like a match doused in kerosene.

Just saw Rumia vs. Saiki.

I did NOT know that Rumia turns into EX Rumia. She even managed to get a round off Saiki (still lost though ;_;)

Welp, Yukari_swr completely destroyed Kingbehinnmoth. It's not clear what the hell happened, but she 1 shot it the 3 rounds.

Not sure what to think about it, does Yukari_swr have anti-bullshit mechanisms? Or a weird hitbox thing on Kingbehinnmoth worked against it... no idea.

First Shang Tsung causes an upset against an Arrange and gets me out of the mines. Then Kohaku causes an upset against Strong Guy and gives me a bit more. Then Etrigan wins against Lilith (the anime girl) and

Odds 1:21.3 ($47398)

Tonight's been crazy.

Holy crap, I had to check and it was Arrange Shiori the one who lost against Shang Tsung. I should have known she wasn't that reliable since that Supergirl fight.

Yeah, I was unsure at first about it. But I was in the mines anyway and knew I had nothing to lose so I just went all-in with Shang. Glad I did.

2 Upsets on a row that really cost me money: Daffy duck vs Ikkyu (The creepy thing with that bloody "fatality") and Armor jack vs Evil ken. (Armor jack suddenly decided that it was a good idea to "potato" 3 rounds)

Edit:
Looks like Salty is planing a big update this week.

What day?

I love updates since people get way too comfortable with their money against newcomers.

Also IMO Armor Jack is secretly a DBZ character. He's got a lot of broken stuff but it's up to the AI whether he actually uses them. The only thing consistent about him is that he never loses against potatoes at least.

He didn't say the day, only that it was going to be this week. Sadly, he didn't say how many new chars were going to be added.

Amazing. Please tell me I wasn't the only one that saw that Yatteyaru-Death vs. Nightmare the Jujin Level 3 match? Those odds.

This morning I wanted to try salty bet out on my wii u. I had forgotten my password because I have my browser remember it. Rather than getting my password from my browser I just decided to reset it. When I did I got a 404 message. No big deal, I thought, I'll just get it from my browser. Well I do that, and it tells me the password is incorrect. So I check my email and find that I have nothing. I try resetting it from my pc this time, and get the same 404 message and no email. So I set up a new account, and try resetting the password on that and it works just fine. The only thing I can think of that might be causing this is that my email address for my original account ends in .net while the email address I used for the new one ends in .com. This is really frustrating because I've had my old account for nearly 2 months and won quite a bit of money. :/

Wait, somebody lost against Simonkin? As in, the guy with the lemon head? The salt must've been strong with that one. I guess there's another never4get to add to the list, then (the only one I remember due to having watched it was the Dio vs Killer Whale match).

That Kabal vs Blob match was really funny. It would've been even better if Blob could've found a way to win while his health was stuck due to the glitch.

Also, I don't like those levels that have foreground elements at all, since most of the time they don't let you see the characters or health bars.

Just made my first actual killing on this thing betting it all on Vanilla H against Fangore. I thought I was going to regret it after seeing the odds heavily stacked against her favor. But evidently I did good in witnessing her before. She is completely insane, I'm surprised people actually bet against her. Anyways, many dreams were had.

How good is Wii U for watching this by the way? Since people usually bring up that idea.

There's like a billion versions of Simonkin and one of them is a good potato-killer. But all the match really proved in the end was that fake Ice is just that bad

Welp, Ghetto Warmachine defeated Miko. It was a 3:1 upset, 5 rounds. Pretty good match, outside of one round that Miko gave for free, all rounds were pretty even.
