Samsung ads mock Apple’s event, iPhone 6, Apple Watch

I can sorta understand sporting rivalries heck even console wars but phone wars?

It's just amazingly pathetic from all sides.

You are ranking them exactly the opposite of how they should be.

Under normal circumstances.
You have one phone - always on you.
You own one console - which you keep at home and use much less than a phone.
You have absolutely no relation to any sports club except fandom.

In terms of sense:
phone > console > sports

Not that they aren't all silly, of course.

I wish I had gone for the Galaxy tbh. The Note line is really too big, clumsy and unwieldy. My phone randomly shuts off, screen randomly stops responding at times, sometimes I have to pull the battery out to turn it off as it'll completely freeze. It's a total MESS. I'm looking at the HTC One at the end of the year or maybe iPhone if there's finally a way to get around being forced to use iTunes
That's odd. I've owned a note 3 for a year and not had any of those issue. Best phone I've ever owned. I'm still tempted by the iPhone 6 plus but the iPhone always breaks after about 9 months for me. It's happened 3 times. I'm really weary of apple and it's crap reliability.

On the other hand, most people replace their phone every year or two, whereas new consoles are every 4-7 years and sports teams never change.

It's totally fair game to take shots at the market leader in your ads, but the difference between Samsung and Microsoft is that the latter's ads are actually amusing.

Samsung just comes off as obnoxious and catty.

Which makes reasoning over why <my choice> is better than <your choice> for phones more sensible. You could argue, pull up objective views, past results, proof of corruption, racist team names, and you'd still never be able to get a sports fan to change his allegiance.

Haven't watched the ads but if the pic in the OP is any indication, they must have been cheap. With all the apple stuff hidden with stickers, it looks like they filmed them in Samsung's design labs.

I don't care who the brand is, I always find this stuff offputting. Because there are people that love those products that you are mocking (not a good way to convince them to switch over by insulting them, and for those that already dislike Apple, it's just a circlejerk). To be fair, Apple started this shit with their "I'm a PC and you are a Mac" ads. Well, okay they weren't the first to do those kind of ads. But it's hard to feel 100% sorry for them when they did that (plus some of their other BS on the legal side of things).

Not to disagree entirely, but the big difference between these and the Mac/PC ads is that the actors were personifications of the machines, not their users. Like how the Surface ads use Cortana and Siri talking about their capabilities. Whereas the Samsung ads only seem to be out to portray Apple users as hipsters, which doesn't feel like a good way to gain new converts. There's a difference between "your choice is poor" and "you are a bad person".

Samsung should beware. I'm no Apple fan but my Galaxy Note 2 is falling apart and my next phone will NOT be Samsung. Wretched build quality tbh

I've had nothing but problems with Samsung phones in the past too. My wife's last Samsung had missing buttons and a battery cover that wouldn't stay on when she finally decided to get an iPhone. Never again.

I have seen samsung galaxy watches at nearly half price, clearly are not selling that well as they expected. So its weird for them to mock the apple watch. If anything might help there sales.

Even the piano and string music in the background sounds forced and terrible. (I get it they are trying to resonate Apple ads with the music, still)

Samsung (ad campaings) to Apple ads to me are what porn parody movies are to real Hollywood movies. ie: Whore of the Rings vs Lord of the Rings. ...Kinda desperate and sad,

Pretty funny. I like this kind of stuff, but I grew up in the 90's on yo momma jokes.

Can't wait to watch these on my iphone 6 next week.

I noticed that from the very first ad. But you can't expect Samsung fans to get that nuance because Samsung fans typically bash on Apple's users as Dumb, sheep-like, superficial and old. In fact, every Samsung ad of any note bashes on Apple USERS because their fan base itself relishes this attitude.

All Apple does is make ads about their products and what you can accomplish/do with them. Conversely, and unfortunately, Samsung ads especially and other Android Device ads as well have this attitude - that I would argue is driven by an inferiority complex masking itself as intellectual superiority and is pretty pervasive in the Android/Samsung die hard community itself.

There was a whole host of Samsung ads characterizing Apple fans waiting in line as stupid and superficially attached to little things. Then another few Android Phone ads characterizing Apple users as old, including one Samsung and one Nokia ad, if I'm not mistaken. Now this series of ads. The theme is consistent, and unfortunately echoed by many Android fans in message boards on every cell phone article on any news page.

Meanwhile Apple is quoting from Whitman and highlighting the work of every day artists and creative professionals.

They're like Mac vs. PC commercials, but even shittier.

Posts like this indicate fanboyism more than anything else.

This can't be real.

These ads are dumb as hell. Samsung already has the superior products, they just need to get their heads out of their asses and make some ads that show that.

These are terrible, did they have a team on standby to watch the livestream and then spew out as much ads in the span of 24 hours as they could?

Samsung should take some cues from Apple or Sony and for once actually do an ad that doesn't berate other products or is *gasp* clever.

There's at least one every commercial break during the Giants game today. Latest one was for kids mode. The kid was holding a gold phone by the way.

Shit videos, shit adverts.

Better idea would have been to do a MST3K of the "THUMBS DONT WORK THAT WAY" Apple ads from yesteryear (or a suitable parody of them). That shit was dripping in potential to tear apart, not this low-rent barely there shit.
