folks, please don't celebrate just yet. these 2 court rulings are good for people who are stuck at airports or were planning on travelling to the US immediately.
these are stop-gap measures until the courts are able to decide whether the EO is constitutional or not, in whole or in part.

There's little doubt that it'll make it to the supreme court. Hopefully Gingburg lives long enough and Kennedy doesn't retire or decide that he's A-OK with this executive order.

If something happened on US soil of the right scale he'd have the people with rifles in the government to swing an immediate imposition of emergency rules and no judge is going to stand up to it.
So actual terrorists aside ( who clearly would also be interested in this unique moment of weakness ) the only thing between now and suspension of opposition is our trust that nobody in government at a high level, with a contact in Iraq private security or something, decides they can swing one and #maga for team trump.

After they didn't even mention a white guy shot up a mosque, and have outright made up massacres, they're going to use the next inevitable attack (because you can't prevent everything) either way.
Ban in place? "We need to add more countries" as they push us farther into isolation.
Ban removed? "Herpaderp the judges let that happen" even if the attacker isn't from one of them, then they push for banning more countries.
From their view they can't lose.
If it's a white Christian that does a terror attack then the guy has a mental illness and probably will be pardoned by Trump

If the reason the EO was dismissed was because it speculating upon the threat posed by these seven countries, then there is a good chance the order will be overturned if the White House is able to present data.
Hopefully judge(s) force them to actually show the data and not let administration slip by with your usual "We have reliable data, we know those specific countries are serious risk to our national security. We just can't tell you anything or show you anything because national security, you understand right?" 'winkwink'

This is straight up star wars prequel trilogy storyline which was straight up almost world war ii storyline... It really does seem quite scary what could happen if an attack does happen in the next few weeks. Hopefully the courts continue to be able to hold their power and make the right decisions.
