Right, but then it's pretty clear SEGA don't care about PC users and their experiences, since PC gamers won't be able to finish the series.

It will be pretty bad for PC gamers to play the first Bayonetta and then never play Bayonetta 2 because it's never ever coming to PC.

Yeah, I'm sure everyone would *definitely* prefer to get one game out of two instead of nothing at all.

So PC gamers never getting any Bayonetta at all would count as Sega caring about them? Come on, bruh.

Every Bayonetta 1 player that didn't buy a Wii U also never got to finish the series.

I'm sure everyone plays Bayonetta to see where the story will go in the sequel.

You're right, they might shoot themselves in the foot. I don't know much about PC culture (you seem like an expert), but I'm pretty sure honor and shame are huge parts of it.

That hardly seems like an issue. It's not like Bayonetta 1 is a waste of time if you can't play the second. Unless you own a Wii U you couldn't play Bayonetta 2 yet people don't talk about playing Bayonetta 1 like it's pretty bad for console gamers.

What makes PC so different?

Good title change

Lol, goodluck.gif

Bayo 1 PC port will sell 4 million copies, forcing Sega to make an exclusive PC 3rd game and buying Bayo 2 back from the dirty hands of Nintendo and releasing it to PC. Not for PS4 and Xbone, console users failed the kween and don't deserve more of her greatness.

Believe.

I don't think the PC market is close of justifying a third title.

Based on the recent WW sales Steam thread we are still talking about a reasonable market, which should make it hard for companies like SEGA to ignore it, but nothing more.

Right the PC market alone won't be enough, Sega only felt it was viable to make a sequel to the series with the original Bayonetta's sales which is about 1.3 million.

Now I'm not expecting the PC port to reach sales even close to that, but depending on price and if it can break past 300,000 sales... following the sale success for both Nier and Nioh in the international market? Yeah they'd be a case to consider reviving the series in the Western markets.

Still like I said, it was more a dream then something I'd throw my hat in and say "yes it's very likely to happen" :P

Konami released MGS5 on Steam but not the rest of the MGS

It's actually pretty crazy to think that the only playable MGS games available on Steam are Rising and 5. I don't think the PC ports of 1 and 2 ever got proper digital distribution, and 3, 4, PW and the MSX games were never ported.

That's the very first teaser image they released when they've announced the game back in the days.
Points out to a port of the first game for Steam.

Given how bad/random Sega is with marketing, I guess it could actually be anything, hope it won't disappoint.

I still expect Konami to release the HD Collection on Steam at some point. MGS4 is a wildcard given it remains a PS3 exclusive.

Didn't Kojima say that the engine was incredibly difficult to port away from PS3? I think that one day, hardware will be powerful enough to brute force through its quirks, but I am not expecting that to happen until after the other games in the series have seen another release. I'm still surprised those haven't happened yet, but Konami has always been really weird towards PC.

More like Kojima is incredibly lazy to do. Game engines developed on PC even if they are specialized for some platforms in the end devs making games on PC.It is not that hard to port any game to PC.
Unless documentation lost or something

Why would that be pretty bad? You don't think... gulp... the story of Bayonetta actually matters, do you? Bayonetta is a GOAT action game that deserves to be available in perpetuity on a platform that can run it perfectly. It would be nice to have the sequel too, but we'll live.

I always knew JaseC was all talk, he probably can't tell the difference between a gpu and a stick of ram.

You mean to say that I can't use the 8GB of DDR4 I ordered along with a 1080 Ti to augment its 11GB of GDDR5? :p

Well Verendus did say it would happen

Oh you!

Didn't Kojima say that the engine was incredibly difficult to port away from PS3?

I've read that here and there but, to the best of my recollection, have never seen a source. I think it's just a theory that has transmogrified into generally-accepted fact due to the game's seemingly perpetual exclusivity, though an X360 version of the game would be more conducive to a PC port.

Best April Fools post on this forum.

What's the point of releasing Bayonetta on Steam when Bayonetta 2 is never ever coming to PC?

Bayonetta 2 would not exist today if not for Nintendo. It is what it is. Nintendo gave the series a second chance.
Better that it exists somewhere/somehow than not at all.

April 1st or not - if *that* setup doesn't culminate in a Bayonetta Steam release (or at least announcement), people will be *pissed*. Popcorn will be had.

And sure, I'd buy it for a third time.

lmfao what is this

I already own it twice, so it wouldn't be much of a heartbreak if it ends up just being a cruel tease, but I'll triple-dip if it means perfect framerate and more chances of future Sega/Platinum ports (Vaaaanquiiiiiiish)

What's the point of releasing Bayonetta on Steam when Bayonetta 2 is never ever coming to PC?

  • Is Super Mario completely unenjoyable unless you buy every Mario game that followed?
  • Is Metal Gear Solid 3 unenjoybale without playing PW / V?
  • Was Bayonetta unenjoyable before Bayonetta 2 came out?

The "point", is in here somewhere

As a Nintendo and Bayonetta fan, I want this.

Holy fuck I so want this. Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 were fucking amazing.

As someone who loves Bayonetta and bought a Wii U for 2 I don't think it's that big of a deal. W101 was a better game than Bayo 2.

Damn lazy Kojima, not porting a game in his spare time.

Folks thinking this means Bayo 2 or a potential 3 are coming to other systems are setting themselves up for disappointment. Nintendo still has yet to announce a date for the Bayo amiibos, You really think they're gonna destroy their synergy just to appease some port beggars who wouldn't touch the GotY?
W101 was a better game than Bayo 2.
This is also true.

Oh man, I'd love to see Bayo 1/2 combined into a single massive game (with the full combined weapons arsenal of both games, and leaning toward Bayonetta 1's combat balance over Bayo 2's) and released on Steam.

Bayo 2's in the same legal situation as Ninja Gaiden Black (hence the Sigma thing), so basically turning it into an entirely new title would skirt most of the restrictions on it (...like the Sigma thing).

In light of what happened with The World Ends With You, I'm going to assume this is a mobile port with those touch screen controls from the Wii U version that absolutely no one actually used.

Oh, and it will be a port of the PS3 version just for good measure.

tbh TWEWY iOS is the best version of the game, though; the *real* cocktease is its secret ending teasing a TWEWY2 that we're never going to get

We got Sonic World with the Nintendo content removed, couldn't we get Bayonetta 2 without the Nintendo costumes or is there much more than that on the game?

It will be superior version with 4K,uncapped frame rate,3D Vision and ModSupport/STEAM Workshop(you know which modes ;')

and you will be crying in corner waiting for mobile port hehehe

Bayo 2's in the same legal situation as Ninja Gaiden Black

Not quite. Tecmo never straight up said that a game they developed is owned by Microsoft, as PG have regarding B2 and Nintendo. Ninja Gaiden was developed and published by Tecmo, NGII was published by MS, but it's unclear how much of a contribution they made or how much influence they had beyond that. PG have made it clear repeatedly that Bayonetta 2 is -despite Sega's ownership of the IP in general- 100% Nintendo's show.

As someone who loves Bayonetta and bought a Wii U for 2 I don't think it's that big of a deal. W101 was a better game than Bayo 2.

Distinct lack of lies displayed in this post.

"Sega don't care"... you sound like a child.

Besides, PC gamers would would be 'finishing the series' story-wise by just playing the first game;)

hell ill go as far as to say, SEGA does care, since all their ports are actually pretty good. with maybe the exception of the total war series. i believe in sega.

IIRC Nintendo funded and published the game, it wasn't just an exclusivity deal. The only way it gets released is if Nintendo okay it, or sell the Bayonetta 2 publishing rights to Sega.
