Senate healthcare repeal bill fails - Collins, Murkowski, and McCain voted no

Which part is convenient? That the poster still thinks the McCain thread and it's shit posting was disgusting or that people still think there is nothing wrong with that? I'm gonna lean towards it being fucking gross. To each his own though, hope no one you care about gets cancer or maybe that would be funny too who knows?

The McCain thread should be an embarrassment to anyone involved in it and you shouldn't feel sophisticated for wishing harm on somebody who you feel is wrong, no matter how passionate you are.

Murkowski and Collins deserve a lot of praise too, they've been extremely consistent in voting no on everything, even after direct pressure was getting applied to both of them

Democrats deserve praise for staying in lockstep the whole way through, but you guys have to remember that McCain basically put a direct target on himself for doing it this way. He's 100% on their shitlist now, something like that would be a career ender normally.

He's a lame duck, dead man walking. His career is already over, we just don't know the end date.

Fully agree. Anyone who wants to @ me on this might as well save it. I'll never change my opinion.

Ehhhh, this McCain gabagool just likes the attention, he's a guy who's trying to suck his own cock and he just cock-blocked this bill. He was out there backstabbing this thing with a machete, I'm from New York, we're front-stabbers, ehhhhhh!!!

I would say there's no way he'll go after McCain, but he's already called him a loser for being a pow and insulted his service saying he wouldn't have crashed planes and gotten caught. On top of that he took shots at the parents of a soldier killed in action. He doesn't give a fuck and there's no reason for him to when his deplorables will support him no matter what.

He'll probably just attack Turtle and the GOP senate as a whole, not specifically going after McCain.

McConnell showed how fucking useless he is btw, he can't whip cream

HEY I didn't do nothin' in those threads, I'm safe

Why is he owed an apology?

For this? If he had his way the worse case scenario would have been the law of the land.

If I had to hazard a guess, he was saving his big no for maximum damage. You can only hit someone in the back with a chair once before they start expecting it

I don't think anybody else would've done it, and I don't think he would have if he didn't already know his fate

I kinda feel like this is the end of McCain's career anyway with his condition.

Did you really call him "dead man walking" and in the same post call the McCain shit thread an embarrassment and you don't agree?

Am I the only one that thinks this is *GOING* to happen eventually? Every time they try this, it gets closer and closer. At this point, we're up at 12:30am (EST) in the dead of night trying to figure out what the hell is going on, reading Twitter to hope to find even a single page of the "bill."

I'm happy today isn't the day, but man, it feels imminent to me. They're not going to give up and they are remarkably closer than we are.

Also, McCain saying "Wait for the show," before boarding the elevator to vote is kind of ridiculous. Our government is just Monday Night Raw at this point and it's pathetic and disheartening.

McCain going the Darth Vader route and tossing McConnell off his podium at the very last second doesn't remove all the terrible things he let happen this past decade. But he does deserve some applause and congratulations.

It depends on how fast it comes back around, and if not fast enough for them, how the midterms turn out.

I love how people here chewed others out for giving McCain their sympathies, felt self righteous when he returned and voted yes to proceed debate, and now have to eat crow when he turned into the hero.

He just saved a lot of people and spit in the twisted face of modern Republicanism/Trumpism

Well I will say McCain pleasantly surprised me but I will say it makes too much sense that republicans in the senate knew that if this passed and people saw the results it would look bad on them but if they voted no that would look bad on them and they came to agreance on who could say no with least bad results (or has nothing to lose like McCain). So McCain did it more to help out his fellow senators.

Call me cynical.

Hero for now anyways. I still don't trust him.

If I had to hazard a guess it would be that he got cancer which made him realize what he is doing is wrong, which is a shame. I would have hoped he came to this realization without that but it is what it is.

Yeah, true.

How many attempts have there been in the six months since Trump took office? 3?

We've got a lot of time between that and midterms, if the initial 6 months was any indication of how strongly they want this gone.

Or or he supports having a plan but doesn't support just repealing with no plan, there's no 9th dimensional chess here.

Someone needs to paste McConnel's head on the Emperor during his chain lighting of Luke. Paste McCain's head on Vader and have him throw McConnell into the pit.

The more time they waste trying to fuck up Obamacare they less time they have to do anything else. Maybe they will take another swing at this and actual manage it, but meanwhile we're getting closer and closer to 2018.

Heller was already at like 30% approval and just went on the record here. If hrs trying to mastermind it's too late for that one.

Yeah that was mostly what I was getting at. People smarter than I talked about the kind of cancer he has and how long he has left in the thread.

You're fam now.

*high five*

If I had to hazard a guess it would be that he got cancer which made him realize what he is doing is wrong which is a shame. I would have hoped he came to this realization without that but it is what it is.

I mean, he still had cancer when he came back, what I'm referring to is him not going outside party lines until this exact moment when it was most effective

Did.... did... McCain just really save us? Just waking up.

Thanks John McCain! If he holds out, I'll owe him a bit of an apology.
I feel like that applies to a lot of people here. Regardless, some of the things said in that thread were wildly inappropriate even if he was doing something shitty or at least appeared to be at the time. Im glad we have another reprieve but we all know this will never really end.

I don't think anyone learned a thing from those threads.

Also, good on McCain. I wish him a speedy recovery. Cancer is no joke.

What else is there? They've voted down "Repeal and Replace Later (i.e. Never)". They've voted down making a major overhaul to the ACA. They've just voted down the so-called "skinny" repeal. About all that's left is repealing the unpopular medical devices tax, declaring victory and going home.

He is a hero because he did the right thing for once? Is that the baseline for being a hero now? If that is the case then the 50 other senators that voted against this stupidity are just as much heroes if not more so.

I dunno, I just really think it's pathetic McCain is seemingly getting all the credit (besides you know, democrats and the people), who was happy playing these games for so long, and not GOP women like Susan Collins and Murkowiski, with their unwavering fuck no's.

Exactly

The skinny repeal is no plan.

He liked the actual GOP plan...

He voted yes on the worst GOP plan

I'm talking specifically about his vote regarding healthcare and that disgusting thread from a few days ago. I am no fan of McCain, but a lot of posters were posting some vile shit about a man on his way out.
