It's great for what it is, a linear interactive narrative experience, those expecting anything beyond that felt disappointed tho I don't know why, like didn't they know what they were getting into? lol

It's just a tech demo, it has less gameplay than the first game.

I even think that it was a tech demo on purpose, after all, MS bought the studio and the guys used MS's money to make a tech demo, put it on their resume and get a job at another studio.

Finished it last week on series X, the graphics are not that impressive I guess PC is where to play it for the full spectacle. The gameplay sucks, its so basic and rudimentary, I am not fond of super complicated button pressing and/or complex sequences, but this was kid's stuff. There are some cool battles. But for the most part this is a walking simulator. It will be soon forgotten because it really doesn't do anything really good.

Just played it for a few hours on PC with 120 fps

Holy shit

Graphics and ANIMATIONS on absolute next level, absolute NUMBER 1 in gaming

Wish gameplay was a bit more dynamic, its still okay, definitely not bad

I couldn't get more than 15 minutes through either game. I was intrigued but the whole schizo thing was too much and I just got really bored with both. Too much other shit to spend time on, it's not for me.

Even the high visual fidelity is tainted by invisible walls everywhere and other such things.

A very bare bones, basic game that would have fared better as just a CGI movie.

Even being a fan of the story context and the ambience, I found Hellblade II so boring I dropped it half way through.

I played it as a game included in Game Pass. If I had bought it, I would be mad.

It's a very cool narrative experience with stunning graphics, I love this sort of thing. I wonder why this game gets shit for lack of gameplay, is it because it sort of hints at being an action game with a bit of combat? People, myself included, appreciate Telltale games like The Walking Dead, Life is Strange, Detroit Become Human, Supermassive games like Until Dawn, Firewatch, Soma, The Invincible and so on and this is game has more gameplay than those, even if it is limited. I feel like people expected something it isn't. It's almost like it would have been higher rated if they scrapped combat altogether. Maybe it sailed a bit far into AAA territory for a narrative game, these tend to be AA and perhaps expectations change.
