Did Xmen Legends release really late in the month? Those numbers are lower than I would have guessed.. Battlefront sold like crazy.

Holy crap. Those Fable numbers are insane. If Fable can do 600K in September what can Halo 2 accomplish in November? :D Fable 2/3/4/5/6 are definitely a go.

11 PS2 games over 100K in September. Crazy.

ESPN NFL2k5 seemed to take a huge chunk of what would be Madden's numbers normally. I would guess. Madden obviously had no problem on release (ie people who buy it every year probably), but ESPN seems to have cleaned up on the people just looking for a football game.

Wait... because Fable sold 600k, the Xbox is a good console? I don't follow that logic, but anyways, I think it's been quite a long time since people stopped saying the Xbox didn't have a chance.

I'm surprised at how well Xbox versions of multiplatform games are selling right now against PS2 games. Many times they are getting close to meeting or exceeding PS2 sales. Bigger userbase doesn't always equal bigger sales.

OMG, i dunno what people were predicting, but is that *good* for Pikmin 2's for month???

I am VERY suprised by Fable's numbers, and I think ALOT of people will be getting this game for Christmas yet, so i should hit near a million by the end of 2004, *WOW*.

chalk up nearly another 100,000 onto halo's totals, good god. when the xbots mobalize they do so in force.... halo 2 launch will be nuts.

ESPN 2K5, GO SEGA GO.. goodness, why didnt sega just drop the price to $20 and *NOT* do the deal with take-two.. that was dumb.

so are we to officially start expecting Xbox to be #1 in terms of monthly sales from here on out, or back and forth about equal???

Wow, I was expecting at least over 200k for Pikmin 2 and DOR. Madden did horrible, so did Konga. Does GC's even break over 200k anymore? :(

It will stay strong for a while though based on WOM. It'll do much better in Europe since its already an established franchise there.

those madden numbers arent normal at all. for some reason it seems they should be way higher? if these numbers have any indication of whats to come for the rest of 2004, things are really gonna heat up for MS. not 1 but 2 3rd party games sold better on the XBOX. wow. just wow! GCs number 5 game only sold 33k. thats looking really bad IMO.

What logic ? I just made a comment. As for the xbox hate, dont kid yourself - its still rife here.

Back on topic, go xbox :D . Xenon is sure looking a good thing with these kind of sales. I think everyone knows the PStwo will make a massive market impact in the next few months, but none the less its a good showing for the "western console that could".

Hmmm, Xbox and PS2 very close still. This is what, third month in a row that Xbox is slightly ahead? It'll be interesting to see how the PSTwo (with no chance of being out of stock I hope) + GTA:SA will fare against Crystal Xbox and Halo 2 :p

So Burnout 3 really did sell that amount? I guess EA's name didn't give as big of a boost to the series as expected.

I sincerely doubt it. When the flagship title is released for an entire month and fails to sell more than 150k, I don't think a multiplatform game with its online stripped (let's be realistic here) will do better at all.

Such a shame too, I love my GCN, hate seeing it fail like this.

What a surprise. A newer, more mainstream sports title is outsold by a niche, poorly advertised JRPG released several weeks prior. Only on GCN.

What the? Why did so many people choose Fire Red over Leaf Green? I thought Leaf Green would be more popular because it's a "new" colour, I guess people are afraid of new things...

Also, Donkey Konga came out at the end of the month, and with word of mouth I expect it to sell better in the next few months.

I'll got out on a limb and say it won't crack 200k it's first month (which may change by the time prediction time comes around in a month or so ) September is a little early for a game to really get sales much more than that unless it's a monster title.

KOTOR is far and way the better game and has sold over 700,000 copies in the US. Fable is coming out against a harder line-up to crack (Madden, NFL 2K5, Burnout), is not receiving the same stellar reviews that KOTOR did, and has no license that casuals can recognize. Fable might do well, but it will not do KOTOR numbers.

Hyped Xbox titles have a tendency not to sell very well (at least in the long run). Fable will be interesting but I'll be on sonycowboy's side here.

I'm betting Fable does 250-300k it's first month, 400-500k for the year. Pikmin 2 will bring in around the same.
