If nothing else, Reigns will be out for at least a month, Regular hernias do that to you, and that's if you catch it before it gets bad. Depending on how it goes, he might be out until the Rumble.

Regardless, it puts a serious damper on that mega-push.

On one hand, he was cooling off with crowds recently, an a big return after a break of a couple of months could do him well, but on the other hand, he really needs every moment of screentime between now and Wrestlemania to improve as a performer if they're serious about giving him the top spot.

Only started watching wrestling like last month starting from Summerslam but I think this whole former Shield members feud is the best thing I've seen so far, and it's a big shame that Roman Reigns has to get this surgery like a day before the PPV.

You may jest, but you know that is probably a big option on the table

Without Roman, they have no number 2 babyface.

They won't have a world champ and no other compelling face on the show... so gonna make Cena Champ again... to have both...

This is the problem with having a weak main event roster.

They do. His name is Dean Ambrose and he was coming back this Monday but with the injury he will be in on Sunday.

It also seems with the Roman injury they screwed up the time zones for an update.

The X Division title change, where it ended up with Low Ki as champion last night, came as a last minute decision.

Samoa Joe was injured during the tapings. We are told the injury wasn't serious, but it was serious enough that he couldn't work last night so they did a multiple person match to crown a new champion and Low Ki was put over.

Roman Reigns has an incarcerated hernia and is having emergency surgery today.
• This is when part of the bowel pokes into a weak part of the abdominal wall, which can lead to obstruction. Squeezing that part leads to loss of blood supply of that part of the bowel (which is an emergency). About the surgery:
• That bowel is pushed back in (or taken out), the abdominal muscle repaired and stitched up.
• Prognosis is excellent – I’m sure he’ll make a full recovery.
• Usually stay overnight in hospital
• Return not quicker than 6 weeks
• Shouldn’t wrestle for 3 months – strenuous activity means he’ll burst his stitches and it’ll happen again.
• This means Reigns won’t be at Night of Champions.
