Guys.
I had the Monte Cristo at Umami Burger,
It was a teenage dream.

I tried this Italian place in DT SJ last week, highly recommend for nice ambiance, good price and good food:

When did Downtown San Jose get an Ike's?
Anyone gonna be at GDC? It's coming up in a few weeks.
Too damn expensive.
Is Ike's really any good? There's one right near my university but I've never actually gone down there to have it. I don't typically like sandwiches.
what's in that one?San Francisco?
Yeah Ike's is pretty great. If you go I recommend getting the Shawn Michaels.
I'm not a fan of sandwiches either.
I don't see it on their online menu but there's plenty to choose from.what's in that one?

I imagine the online menus aren't 100% accurate given how complicated they are.Thinly sliced roast beef, bacon, mozzarella cheese sticks, and their dirty sauce. You can also get veggies on it if you want.
It should be on their online menu but I'm pretty sure that changes with the location. If you check the Danville menu it is on there.

There's also that age-old issue of having one you really like and then being reluctant to try something else because you're worried it won't be as good as your favorite.Yeah unfortunately there is no way I will be able to try all of their sandwiches

That's what company sponsorships/expense reports are for!
I love the Shawn Michaels at Ike's. Still one of the best sandwich places in the city.
And that is now the next sandwich I'll try. Should be going to Ike's in Walnut Creek on Friday. Had the Matt Cain first time I went at the Danville location.Amazing sandwich. Everyone needs to try it.
Got neither of those.
There are two people from my old alma matter (UCSC) speaking, too.

Naw man, the Hot Momma Huda. So good.

The Bushman died.
RIPThe Bushman died.
I don't know when it happened, exactly. The guy had a good gimmick, but I can't imagine why you'd get mad when someone didn't tip you after you scared them.
I'd love to go to GDC this year, but it's so overly priced. I might just go check out the free stuff they've got this year. Last year I had a pretty good time just hanging out around the area talking to random gaming folks.

Volunteering at GDC is always an option (to gain admission albeit do some work, like an indentured servant ), but I you have to apply a few months in advance.

I have been craving Ike's all week. Think I'll pick up a sandwich during my lunch.

If you want food suggestions, please list very specific preferences in terms of cuisine, price range, ambiance, etc... SFGate's Bargain Bites is a good place to start.I'll be in SF April 8th-16th. I'm from MN. Help me out in suggestions on what to do. It's just me and a buddy with no real plan.
Someone recommend me an Ike's sandwich. I've been getting the same thing for years.
Patrick Marleau - Bacon, creamy horseradish, Jack, Roast Beef, Sriracha.

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a shot. Any other suggestions?
Damn with Cosmos and the Big Bang theory news I am more excited than ever to go to the California Academy of science. Have still never been but I need to go sometime this year for sure.
