I was around 10 or so and I was alone by myself one night (parents went to a dance or something). I heard the voice of a little girl call out my name as if she was in the same room as me. I'm not sure who it was but a had a sister who died before I was born. Still creeps me out thinking about it.

One night, probably around 2am, I woke up suddenly and as soon as i Wake up the whole room lights up. I'm thinking, that a car just drove up the drive way so i lay in bed waiting for the lights to go out but i realize that there is no car sound or that the lights aren't going out. I pull the sheets over my head and I doesn't come out until I wake up the next morning. I was about 12 or so btw.

Not really paranormal just weird, I was in the City after quiting some crappy work experience job and while walking around I needed to use the loo.
I find a toilet which is located underground so I go in there and I see 5 men in suits just standing there.
3 in the urinal but not urinating - 2 facing the wall as if urinating the other facing away - another man was at the entrance opposite to the one i came in from, one to the right of me where the basin was, and another man who wasn't in a suit - looked homeless - crawling on the floor looking under the doors to the cubicals.
There were 3 cubicals in total, 2 were in use and one was free, so i use the free one and this guy pops his head under the door.
Anyway, i got the **** out of there ASAP! don't know what the hell was going on there.

As far as I can remember, I've never had anything truly paranormal happen to me (but I've wanted something to happen for the longest time). Something that is slightly strange about me, though, are my dreams. They're not weird or anything, but it's just that I never, ever, seem to have a simple dream. People always talk about how they dreamed they were driving a Jaguar down a mountain pass, or how they walked into their house and instead of their child/parent/significant other, there was a horrific monster, end of dream. Nothing like that. No matter what it is, it's always something truly epic. A long time ago, maybe 8 or 10 years or something, I had one dream that was a colossal space opera (not in the musical sense, but more along the lines of Battlestar/Star Wars), that took what felt like years to happen- the story seemed to literally last for years inside my dream. Another time, I was a detective in some utopian-style future where some evil villain was going around putting bombs in electronic devices. That second one probably doesn't sound that cool, but it was. I just seem to have "movie dreams" all the time.

Also, I don't like meta-dreams. Maybe that's just my word for them, but if you've ever had the feeling (whether inside the dream or not) that you've had the dream before, but you're not sure if it was years ago or just part of the dream you just finished having, it's that kind of thing.

There's been a lot of talk about what causes dreams- is it random electrical impulses in the brain, the processing and regurgitation of the day's events, or something even more mysterious? Well, since dreams (upon later reflection) usually don't seem to make any sort of sense, I'm inclined to agree partially with the first option. However, there have been so many times where, upon waking from a dream, I've been able to determine exactly how certain parts got into it- a certain word I said during the day, a story I read, something. I also think that there really is a more mysterious side to our dreams, one that may never be explored fully, but that's what makes them magical. Dreams make me excited to go to bed at night, yet disappointed that I probably won't remember much of anything the next morning. But, for a few brief hours, I will have experienced something special, something amazing, and it's awesome while it lasts.

I once had a dream that I was taking one of my cats into an emergency vet, considering I have 15 cats, and I knew which one it was from the dream.. I found it rather eerie. A few weeks later he went in for surgery.

This could be a subconsious trick.. but I still find it strange. Certainly not as cool as several of the stories in this thread.

I get deja-vu feelling a lot, it's always something trivial like for example once I was in a bar I was never in before with my friends and for some reason I thought I had been here before and talking about the same thing.

I got the biggest Deja Vu I've ever had the other week. It was just a combination of people there whilst we were camping, and I remember it confused me when I thought it the first time as I didn't know why those people would be there at the same time, but it made sense when it happened properly. Weird shit.

I have a very true story to tell... however, I believe it to be a very humorous coincidence.

One time, in 8th grade, we were at lunch discussing "selling your soul" and some people talked about what would happen. One guy, named Brad, made a loud deal about it. He said "oh come on! that is the stupidest shit on Earth. You can't sell your soul! Watch: 'I'd sell my soul for a Pepsi'... do you see a pepsi? No." and we all laughed and ate the rest of our lunch. Then later, we went to the lobby, and he went to, as we call it here, the "pop machines." I was with him. He pushed the button for pepsi to see if it was sold out before putting his money in, and sure enough, a can of pepsi rolled out. He picked it up and I said "Oh shit! Don't drink that! you sold your soul for it!" and he paused, and then took a big drink. Funny and true.

Long, bare with me.

My friend tells me that him and this couple he knew started playing around with a Ouija board, and this girl started passing out for long periods of time and the Ouija board was saying all this weird shit before and during her being passed out and they threw the Ouija board out the window on the freeway- I don't remember the exact details he told me since I wasn't there. I didn't believe it so I offered to buy another board to see what would happen and do it with them.

So we get the board and head over the the couples place. The guy was at work so it was just me, my friend, and the girl. We start up and begin asking questions, and it's giving answers and doing it very quickly and stopping perfectly, like it's magnetized to certain letters or something. I didn't believe it, so I had them close their eyes and asked it questions. It still worked. Uh oh. The other people did the same thing, and it still worked when only the person asking the question had their eyes open. Then it started getting REALLY scary.

My friend asked the board what his pet dog was named when he was growing up. I knew it, but I was definitely not moving the plastic piece. It answered correctly. Then I asked what my pet cat's name was when I was a kid. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT ANYONE IN THAT ROOM KNEW THIS, and my hands were not on the board. It guessed correctly. Noggles. It ****ing guessed the name "Noggles", out of anything that it could have guessed. I have never even heard of anything named this word in my life except my for my cat.

We started asking it more open ended questions, I don't remember exactly, but it started telling us that it wanted to take the girl, let's call her "Ann", down to hell. After asking more questions having to do with what it said about hell, she suddenly passes out. In a weird position too, she was sitting indian style and she just flopped her torso forward right on her face. I ****ing panicked, and started frantically asking "what are we gonna do?". My friend although also freaked, tried to calm me down and said that this was what happened last time, and she woke up.

I finally get somewhat calmed down, and we decide to ask what happened to Ann while she's still there laying on the bed passed out. We ask it what it did to Ann. It tells us that she is in hell, and that she belongs there. She wakes up about 5 minutes later, not remembering passing out, and she actually denies that it happened. She is acting VERY weird about it though, like she's lying and knows exactly what happened, but we can't get any details from her.

We start asking it similar questions, with her participating, and it continues to tell us all this creepy ass shit, mostly about Ann. Again, after awhile she passes out AGAIN. This time I'm much more calm, and we immediately start asking the Ouija about "Ann" and why it was making her pass out, etc. It tells us "she is Satan", and from that point on refers to her as Satan. This detail gets very creepy a little later in the story. She wakes up 18 minutes later, we counted.

I then ask it to meet us somewhere else, and it tells us to go to Cliff park. Cliff park is park with a large stone hill with a path leading to a flat area on top where I know that some sort of satanic groups worships at night, because they invited my brother who was a caretaker to the park to one of their meetings awhile back. I discuss asking it to give us a physical sign like blood on the wall or something, and they agree, but then I get freaked out again and refuse to ask it something like that, and we leave instead to Cliff Park. Outside of the park we start using the Ouija board again and it tells us the go the the top of the hill. This time both of us get too freaked out to even get out of the car. We had a flashlight, but the park is pretty much pitch black except for moonlight. We go home and of course I have trouble sleeping for about the next week or so.

.............

A few years later 2 of my friends went to Cliff Park, and climbed up the rock instead of taking the path that circles around to the top. They peek over and see a group of people in robes talking. They hear the sound of a baby crying, and right after that the people in robes turn around and notice that they are getting spied on and someone in a robe starts walking fast towards them, and they get away as fast as possible.

Anyways, there is zero explanation for this. No one can convince me that something supernatural didn't happen here. Not a chance. ****ing Noggles.

EDIT: The reason it was important that the Ouija called her Satan: Maybe a month or so after that, my friend was at her house and looking through one of her old yearbooks from junior high. Most of the people who signed it called her "Satan" instead of her real name.

I was real young and laying in bed with my mom. We saw a completely grey colored young boy come into the room. I asked his name and walked up to him. He wouldn't reply. He started to run, and I chased after him. The front door was open and he disappeared into the night to never be seen before. There were a lot of weird things that happened in that house to all of my family actually. I remember hearing that a child died there. I also got possessed or something. My mom and sister said my pupils changed into a cross like form and I acted real mean. :lol I've also ghost hunted and caught some orbs and evp's, but those can be arguable.

when i was in my early teens, forget exactly when, i used to live in this house.. it was owned previously by a family, whose members i remember seemed really sad and down in spirits when we came by to look at it one day before... we moved and settled in not too long after...

one evening i went out to the local convenience store leaving my younger brother home alone. when i came back, he was crying and things were thrown about... he said a kid had come into the house and did it. i dismissed it as a lie at the time and thought that he just had a tantrum... and really, what kid goes around to people's houses to throw stuff around?

anyway, some years after we had moved out of the place (rather prematurely) i was reminiscing and asked my mom why we had moved out of that place since i had nothing by happy memories of the place... she claimed that she never felt comfortable there and that she had often seen a little boy hiding behind doors and in the closet...

it also turns out that the family that used to live there, lost a child .... :O

i don't believe in this stuff, and never personally experienced any weird happenings in the house, so i'm not really sure what to make of it.. but i thought i'd post for your enjoyment :)

Some of the experiences detailed in this thread , specifically the ones where someone just woke up or was going to sleep, can probably be explained as Sleep Paralysis. It's supposed to be extremely frightening.

Yeah, it's pretty frightening, but doesn't last more than a split second. Sometimes I wish I could somehow replicate the exact feeling, because I really don't get to experience it very often.

I have never been a believer of ghosts or the supernatural, I truly do not believe they exist and the idea of the presence of ghosts are just mind games. However, they are still very interesting mind games that you just can't ignore.

I remember when I was around 10-11 my grandmother claimed to have seen a ghost entering and exiting our living room. I didn't really know what to think or say when she told me that, because for one she is not a liar, shes one of the most trustworthy people I have had the pleasure of knowing. So when she said that it kinda made me uneasy, though I still didn't believe it. So anyways. One day, in the middle of the night while I was just waking up (was very groggy), I could have sworn I saw a woman about 5'8 with a white robe walk from my room to the living room. It all happened very fast! I still don't know if I was dreaming, or just completely hallucinating, but I still to this day have a vivid image in my head of what I think I saw that morning.

If there ever was a ghost, she wasn't a bad one, my brothers and I have always played in the hall and the living room where she wanders, and absolutely nothing strange has happened to us. As a matter of fact when I was 1 years old I fell down the steps while still in my baby stroller (13 steps made of hard wood and a concrete base at the bottom) and I was left with not a scratch on me. The stairs lead right into the hallway and the living room the ghost hangs out. So that area is actually a very lucky spot.

For a good portion of my life, I lived in a room that was basically a the top of a staircase. When I was a little kid, after my parents went to bed, or I woke up in the middle of the night and was thirsty, I sometimes looked outside to see this apparition of a white woman in white clothing ascending the staircase to my room (the furthest she got up before I shut the door was the third or second step). These weren't dreams, I remember it that much, but I think the likely and logical explanation was my hyperactive imagination screwing me over. Still, I don't think I went out for water until I was 6 or 7.

Another one of those kid things... But when I was little, we were heading home from being with the cousins and dropping off some tapes my parents had rented. Well, my sister and I were in the back seat of the car. We turned around (as kids often do as they've been stuck in a car for over an hour) to see the moon incredibly huge and yellow on the horizon. Think "Lion King" opening, but filling the entire screen. Anyway, I managed to convince myself it was only a dream until I brought it up with my sister during my teenage years. Automatically she remembered and thought she had dreamt it too. She remembered everything else about that day, especially the moon. I still can't explain this one (corporate advertising? Hallucinations?), but I'd really like to.

This thread scares the living bejesus out of me :x So glad it's daylight outside...

This thread is scaring the shit out of me and it's after 1am.

Has anyone else reading this thread never had any paranormal experience of any kind, or is it just me?

Well I lived with someone that are mediums and have spirit guides so I'm sensitive to those things, even my room has had someone die on it and he's still here bugging and suffocating me every chance that he has and of course I get visited by ghosts so I got use to it already. :)

If this was "Share your spiritual experiences" it'd be full of trolls.

QFT I've experienced God in different ways, but when people don't believe in God, they tend to call it bull.

Anyway, I love having intresting dreams and recently I've been able to control my dreams. Not too long ago I was having this nightmare of some evil spirit following me evrywhere and so I was like "forget this" woke myself up and went back to sleep. Then the same dream continued. Some priests came and were getting rid of the spirit, but they were taking long so I decided to do it myself. After that everything was fine.

I sometimes rarely have deja vu that I know the situation from a dream.

I don't know why but I from time to time I can remember dreams I had ages ago pretty well.

Well you are God's vessel after all.

Once I had a weird paranormal thang before I was atheist..

Well, I was sleeping all by myself, but a noise woke me up, scared me actually. The noise was coming from the doorknob, I was reluctant to get near it but I was courageous enough to do it so I went to inspect it. I seriously thought this noise was from a ghost or somethin', but after all that, I figured out it was the wind from the open window that conjured this spooky like noise inside the doorknob. So i was like, "WTF, I was scared for nothin'!?" at the end.

It's easy to claim "OMFG it's satan/ghosts/Jesus/Gawd at work!" but I wouldn't just label it a paranormal experience just yet, there's more to it than just an absolute conclusion of the findings (Appeal to personal incredulity), like god of the gaps arguement.

That's pretty common me, my dad my bro have all waked up kicking nothing cos we thought we were playing football:lol (soccer) on more than one occasion. My dad actuall bruised his toe because of it once. I've also just moved really dramatically in my bed cos I jumped in my dream.

One time I was on whatever it is dentists give you to knock you out, and I "woke up," and the dentist was sawing my leg off, and there was blood coming out and shit. A few seconds later my dad took my hand and walked me to the car. ****ing scary as shit at the time. In retrospect whatever that stuff was messed me up that whole day and made me imagine and mentally exaggerate things, like I would roll over in bed a little bit and feel like I was falling down a well or something. Could have been blood loss too. I dunno.

Not much of a story, but last night I came back kind of early from a club, and I decided to log on and check out what's new in GAF. An hour or so went by, and by then I was horribly tired, to the point where I just began to lose consciousness but still remained awake.

Suddenly these horrible screams and screeching sounds began to happen all around me, as if "things" were making them. It was funny, it felt like they were sitting in front of me. I "wake up" and just shrugged it off. However, the feeling of being too tired got a hold of me again, and I entered the same state. I can swear I heard "something" laughing that was sitting right next to me. Not a normal laugh, but a combination of a laugh and a screeching sound, like a scream.

Really weird stuff. I probably shouldn't do that again. :p

I don't know how to classify my experience really, rather than just cool. My childhood friend and I were always interested in supernatural stuff. We talked about it all the time and even tried ouiji boards and whatnot. (No luck with the board ) But one night we were up in his room just talking about dumb shit like we always did when we notice a wierd light. I saw it outside his 2nd story window and I called his attention to it. It was this tiny ball of light. Almost like a firefly that was stuck in the on position. What made this really wierd is even though the window was close, this ball of light came into the room and was moving around. After a minute or two it disapeared into the wall. This is something we both saw, niether of us were drunk or on drugs and we verified eachother's sighting.

Not so much anymore, but I used to jump when I was just slipping into sleep all the time. I felt Like i was falling for some reason. Also, I went through about a month long period where when falling asleep my mind would be awake but I couldn't move my body at all. I remember it TOTALLY freaking me out.

Wow, just realised I had more stories than I though, rofl. Ok, here's 2 more. First story:

This one is pretty short. When I was younger (like 5-7) my father used to take me fishing with him all the time. This one time we were at a lake, I was sitting leaning back against a tree and my father was lure fishing. I don't rememebr really talking but my father yelled to me asking who I was talking to. The moment he did this i felt a great weight leave my lap (which is strange cause I hadn't noticed it.) Why a ghost or entity or whatever would be sitting in my lap eludes me, but I found this strange.

This second story has much the same atmosphere. My father had taken me and my brother fishing at a resevoir about 30 minutes from our home. A few minute after setting up 2 men arrive. They're wearing really old clothing, I seem to recall thinking them wearing old military outfits. Really, really old clothing. Eventually I shrugged it off as if they just came from an re-enactment or something. So my father went a ways off in search of a better place to cast his lure while my brother and I stayed with our rods. Eventually I had a fish on the line and for some reason my brother (4 years older and much stronger at the time) thought he should be the one to reel it in. We had a fighting and I ended up in the water. Now mind you that I was about 5 years old, had no clue how to swim, and the water was over 20 feet deep. It was a long fall into the water, we were set up on a ledge. I seem to remember it being a HUGE distance but it was probably only 15 feet or so. My brother freaked out and went to search for my father to help me. At this time I was just splashing about in the water, I stayed about 2-3 from the surface so I couldn't breath and I remember seeing those two guys again(the ones dressed in really old clothing) They yell down to me that everything will be alright and to keep moving towards the light. Which is of course all you can really see when you're underwater looking up. Wierd thing is, if someone's above water and you're underwater you can't make out any words someone is saying, but I heard these guys perfectly. Anyways, moments later my father dives in and saves my life (gotta remember to get him a card or something) and i'm on shore drying off. My brother got yelled at really good for pushing me into the water which made me happy cause we were bitter enemies until we got into our teens. We immediatly left for home and upon arrival my mother heard what happened and freaked out. Upon explaining my story I mentioned those 2 strangely dressed guys and niether my father nor my brother remember seeing them.

Ok after speaking briefly with one of my parents I have a strange update to the final story. I distinctly remember someone jumping in, helping me to the surface and then bringing me to shore. My father claims that by the time he got to me I was mostly to shore and he pretty much just grabbed me from land and help me onto shore. So this of course is even freakier than what I had otherwise thought. Figured i'd let you all know.

It was just my imagination I'm sure, but one time many many years ago when I was falling asleep in my bed, I swore I heard some creepy voice call out my name. It sounded so real to. But I was half asleep at the time, so I'm not going to go attributing it to ghosts and demons and shit.

[Hope it's ok to bump this, it's been bumped plenty of time in the past]

I'm absolutely the least superstitious person in the world, a hardcore scientific-method atheist. But my imagination is pretty wild and as a huge fan of cinema I can let things get a psychological advantage of me.

Ghosts are absolutely my weak spot. I don't really know why, but aliens? No problem, I would find it more interesting than anything else, and if they were hostile, they are physical beings and I could use the same laws that govern my universe against them.

Zombies? Same sort of applies - they are physical, and what's more, pretty brainless. You know when you look into the eye of a zombie, it wouldn't be thinking about much else other than eating you.

But ghosts? No way. Uh uh.

1) None physical, how tf would you defend yourself?

2) Can go invisible and shit

3) Intelligent, scheming, mind reading

All it takes is for the concept of ghosts to come to mind at night and that's it, I won't be able to get back to sleep for ages.

I've never had any real undeniably unexplainable experiences. The biggest freak out for me was my grandparents house. The doors were heavy, too heavy to be blown by the wind, and besides, all the windows were usually closed. But on a regular basis, particularly at night, the ****ing things would open and shut.

I don't mean, they'd smoothly nudge forward, sometimes they'd move forward sharply, stop, move forward again, then later move back.

99.99% chance of it being air pressure or something, but even so, it freaked me out.

Especially one time. Me and my grandparents dog were playing. We were running around and I was chucking stuff for him to fetch. One time I chucked it near my bedroom door and we both ran over. As soon as he reached the door he stopped like a shot and stood there, staring at the door.

Suddenly the door slammed in his face and let me tell you, he went beserk with fear.

I was scared shitless for the rest of the week :lol I was about 15 then I guess.

When I was a kid, maybe from the time I wast 2 to 6 years old or something like that, I swear I could see, everytime I looked at the other end of my house's hallway, 2 persons, probably around 40 walking out of the only free bedroom we had at the time. It was the one directly besides mine and it freaked me out too much. I don't know if it was my mind, but everytime I looked at that damn hallway I watched those whatever they were walking toward me. I couldn't cross without one of my parents and everytime I had to move and I had a clear vision of that door, I ran until I couldn't see it anymore.
Once, I had a dream about this, too. Basically, my parents were in front of the hallway and called me, as soon as I approached, my dad held me in front of the hallway so I could see directly at the door. I was trying to get free but the 2 persons/ghosts/whatever had already started to walk toward me, until they finally got to me and started looking at me, touching my arms, etc... it was horrible. Now I don't even think about them and my brother sleeps in that room.

When I was like 1 and used to sleep with my parents, I was trying to sleep and glanced at the door (which is one of the doors at the end of the hallway :lol), there were persons looking at me, like in those cartoons where there are characters peeking through the door. It was like 4 of them and I freaked out. This one I bet was my mind, tho :p

Also, when I was like 12, suddenly, at night, an alarm sound started; it was horribly loud, like it was coming from the house, but we had no alarm. My parents looked for the source of the sound and found nothing at all, even tho it did sound like it was in the hallway or at least inside the house. This happened 2 times, and I remember finding a pattern, like it was exactly 3 months apart or something like that.

Now for something that happened more recently(same house), I was about to sleep and went to brush my teeth. Now, the bathroom is one of the doors from the hallway, so reflected through the mirror you can see the hallway's end. I was brushing my teeth when I saw, for a second, an old man at the end of the hallway looking at me. I saw again and he was gone. Actually, he looked like the guy at the end of time in Chrono Trigger, with those funny hats and brown outfit :lol

No one believes me, but when I was like 8 years old I was sitting in this slope close to my house and I swear I saw a huge UFO get a few meters away from me, hell I could even feel the air in my face. No one around me saw it and I ran away like a girl.

When I was 10 years old I was sleeping, when all of a sudden I open my eyes. I could feel myself sweating nonstop and my heart was pounding like crazy, like it wanted to get out of my chest. My dog was sleeping by my side and he was looking at me nervously and barking. All I could see a few seconds later was a blur and I could hear some kind of chatter. I blacked out and woke up, sweating like a mad man with my nervous dog by my side. Something creepy happened that night... but nothing has happened to me like this in 9 years so far.

so what if like poltergeists and ghosts are totally different things? What if they were somehow explainable by science. How wild would that be? (And no I don't mean infrasound, or low frequency queasiness).

Once I logged into gaf and posted in a thread 5 years old. True story brah.
