Looks like they changed the project image:

i think they're just filling in the gaps between higher tiers. nevermind.

the video was pretty great. they've all been quite revealing about yu suzuki as a warm, and imaginative person

Yeah, goes without saying that the tiers are getting a little overkill now. Not sure who would pay $900 to have their name featured in a Fortune Teller's book when you can get your name on a temple with a technique scroll for $800. Also because everyone gets their name AND a message in at $600. Maybe someone who wants something unique as I'm sure not many will go for it. Let's just hope this is the last one.

Hypothetically if Sega did decide to announce a I and II HD remake tomorrow and allow it to be included in the Kickstarter rewards where do you think it would sit? $150 possibly?

It's not happening but I can dream a little :-)

Yeah, top tiers are overloaded. At this point it'll just be people already up in those tiers swapping between them. Us sub $500 people generally can't afford to splurge that hard. I don't know what they can do, but they should try to get those 24k $29ers to up their pledges. Add-ons is something to consider.

As for projections, bleh. Kicktraq's are always pointless. It's an indication of the current momentum, but kickstarters are dynamic. There will be a boost that'll start at least 48 hours before the end, the question is how big. From the start it's always seemed like beating Bloodstained will be the thing.

Started now!

No need for introductions, Yu Suzuki!

They are first talking about the host's surprise that there were so many fans.

They are now talking about Yu's career, and how it all started.
As a student, he first thought of becoming a dentist, or artist, but then decided on programming. Programming held much potential for the future at the time, and he started out at Sega. He started off with doing arcade games.

Thanks for the translating!

Q: Did you have certain objectives in mind when making arcade games?
A: Arcade centers had a rather dark atmosphere, with kids smoking and doing bad things out of school.
One of the things I aimed for was to improve this kind of atmosphere through my games.

Yu also talks about the fact HangOn was actually calculated in 3D, but displayed in 2D.

(sorry can't really keep up xD)

Talking about genres, about Yu's contributions to creating whole genres. (racing, fighting)
Yu laughing with the fact no one got what "F.R.E.E." really meant.

Talking about how Shenmue III finally came to be through Kickstarter, and Yu's reaction to the E3 unveiling.
Talking about Shenmue fans.

Talking about someone who learnt Japanese through Shenmue, and ended up marrying a Japanese woman called Nozomi.

Talking about how great fan reaction videos to the Shenmue 3 unveiling were.

They need to update with add-ons this week. Some people can't be bothered to make new KS accounts but want multiple versions of the game. They'll be stupid not to do it.

Yup. I'm on for the Physical PS4 version at the moment for $60. What I'd really want is the Physical and Digital copy of the game.

Because backing evolves slower, Kicktraq's expected finale projection is lower now : at the end of the campaign, Shenmue 3 should earn between 4.89M$ and 5.25M$.
By comparison, Bloodstained collected 5.54M$.
For your consideration: if you had looked at the Kicktraq chart for Bloodstained at that point in their campaign, Kicktraq's expected final projection would have been slightly over ~4.2M$

Their simple extrapolation algorithm does not take into account the traditional strong finish most (not all) successful high profile KS projects have during the final days.

Honestly speaking, even if Sega were to suddenly turn around and try to take advantage of this development to release Shenmue 1/2 HD, these wouldn't be part of the KS backer rewards.

Been watching the live stream. It seems bad that they still haven't set up Paypal, though I understand they want to try to avoid losing more money from donations. What's worse though is that the reward explanations for the KS haven't been updated in Japanese at all besides the initial offerings. No mention of even the PS4 physical copy for the people who live in a country where PC gaming is virtually non-existent.What the heck are they thinking?

I prefer trigger to walk/run here. There's a lot of running about in Shenmue.

Yes, there is still the problem though that if you are holding R to run while looking around with the stick then you give up the ability to turn left and right and you can only go straight. So you can only enjoy the sights for so long until Ryo runs into something.

If this series gets a release on modern consoles with second stick camera support I'm going to spend so much time soaking in the world.

This already made 19.4k for today, and we're not even halfway through the KS day, when pledges normally double. Is this the start of the last days rush? (although it usually starts with 2 days remaining... not 5.)

At the very least, we can hope to beat yesterday's pledges.

Wow. Really...

Aye, we've loads more buttons now. Shenmue 3 could even keep d-pad steering and trigger running alongside updated controls.

The Dreamcast only had one stick, unfortunately.
Yes, but when porting the game to the Xbox they should have added that option. The game allows you to use the dpad to move and the sticks to move the camera, well, they simply had to map the dpad functions to the left stick. Whatever, it's playable, but it annoys me because of how stupid it is lol
