After finishing chapter 5 I can confirm that allies AI indeed sucks. I skipped on the chance to get a chapter 5 trophy for the big fight, because my partner was acting like an idiot. ;)

The AI is best against one or two enemies at a time. Kite enemies around Joseph and he'll take them out in 1-2 hits, good way to save ammo if you need to.

Holy shit dude lol.

For this trophy, Joseph can't take any damage. Did he keep dying or did He just take a few hits? I don't think that taking damage means that the AI isn't good.

It's not only that scene, the other ones as well. AI doesn't use cover when it should, doesn't stay close to the main character, doesn't target the nearest monster, doesn't use melee hits (or maybe I haven't seen it), doesn't move back when a grenade is supposed to go off nearby... Also it would be nice to be able to issue simple orders.

I got it on NG+ on Casual with a full stock of every bolt.

Yep, maybe I'll try it later when I'll unlock better stuff (I'm trying to do a no upgrades playthrough).

You didn't see Joseph destroying enemies with the axe? It seems like you expect the AI to act like a human controlled character.

I started playing this last night. I'm having a hard time with the frame rate (playing on PS4) but the game is pretty solid. It's giving me mad RE4 vibes and I really like it so far apart from the technical mishaps. The black bars are pretty annoying.

That achievement where Joseph cannot take a single hit was remarkably easy for me on my first playthrough on Survivor, he was smart enough to kite the enemies when they get close. I think the only way he gets hit is if he's surrounded and has no where to run to.

Yeah, I probably missed that since I was focused on the zombies in that fight. I dunno, maybe it's me hating all games where you have to take care of somebody else. Thank God Ellie stayed out of the way in The Last of Us, because otherwise it would ruin that game for me as well. ;) Anyway no biggie, I'll fight for this trophy in my NG+ playthrough.

Thanks for the demo Bethesda, the game looks like shit. That forced stealth section at the beginning turned me off this game completely.

I'm No fan of babysitting and escort missions but I feel Joseph is competent enough. And it's only a small part of the game.

I think Joseph died around 4x more than I did in the sections where he accompanies you. Whoever says he has competent AI can kiss my ass. They probably had infinitely better luck than myself :lol. As if I didn't have enough issues on my Akumu run, this jackass comes to ruin the day.

With that said, he can kick major ass in the castle section where has the axe if you let him. He needs 2 hits at most to dispatch an enemy. Pretty useful.

So the sixth chapter didn't change my opinion on Joseph for better. ;) For a few moments I stopped and observed how him and a bunch of zombies were trying to hit each other and kept missing. ;) Chapter 6 was fun by the way (apart from inifinite zombie spawn in the ruins) and it took me a while to finish it.

Starting chapter 11 akumu -_-

Chapter 10 has been the bulk of my deaths, must have died at least 10-15 times. Did kill the garage boss first try though.

There are a finite number of enemies, they do eventually stop.

Good to know. After a few annoying deaths I tried to eliminate the gunners asap and I seemed to me like less enemies came after me after they were gone. Or maybe I was just more familiar with the ruins and that's why I had an easier win. :)

I'm stuck on chapter 15... all those enemies and I have barely no ammo.

I understand that this is a survival horror and that I should've saved more ammo... but how was I supposed to kill that reptile beast on chapter 14 without almost running out of it? Those slugs would only give me handgun bullets...

Ahhhhhh... looks like I will have to load one of my previous saves and try to hoard ammo.

BTW, LOVING the game

I did had some trouble keeping Joseph alive in chapter 5 on akumu. But you expect things to be harder.

Joseph only died on me once in akumu thankfully, I left him alone too long in chapter 5.

Also what's this dude on twitter on about?

Finished my akumu run, my goal was to stay under 100 deaths so I'm happy with that number. The double building in chapter 6 and the shutter door in chapter 11 were the biggest hold ups but other than that those chapters went pretty smoothly. Chapters 12/13 were surprisingly intense/stressful but I never really see people bring those up when they discuss akumu.

Played with letterboxing on w/ a controller too for the folks that say it's impossible to see anything :p

Where's my DLC now?

Wow! Nice. I think I had 344 deaths on my akumu playthrough.

You're better than me. I died 394 times and my time was 19 hours :l

Incredible job! I struggled enough on Nightmare difficulty, akumu is way too crazy for me. I don't think you unlock anything else in the game, do you?

To be fair you started your run a lot earlier than I did. I had decent strategies for each encounter after playing through a few times.

I don't doubt that if I jumped straight into akumu after my first playthrough i'd have wayyy more deaths.

Sadly you do not, just brass knuckles again.

I'm progressing rather slowly, finished chapter 9 (for the 1st time) yesterday. I loved how they kept winking at the RE fans, but sometimes I feel that the game relies too much on the ideas from previous games and doesn't bring as much new goodies to the table as I'd like. Or maybe I'm spoiled too much. ;)

Sooo chapter 10. :> I don't know what caused me more problems...
the traps or the parking garage boss
It was enjoyable, though.

Holy shit your Akumu run is both faster, and has far fewer deaths than my survival run (and my nightmare run, which is going to be even longer and have more deaths)...feels bad, man.
