Amazon would only need to repackage Luna Server hardware in a consumer product with the Luna controller & they would be right there to snatch up the kids & casual gamers.
Mom's & Grandparents would buy it just because it's the new Alexa device .
That is what I would say about Sony back decades ago. Companies can try something new if they got the right people.Amazon doesn't know how to do quality consumer devices. The Alexa speaker has failed, I've never met anyone with a fire tv stick, the fire phone was a flop, the robot was a flop... I could keep going. Outside of Kindle, which I'd argue is a budget mass market device, they've been failing on all fronts.

Amazon has sold more than 500 million Alexa-enabled devices, drops 4 new Echo products
I buy Amazon products as gifts for other people all the time & would most definitely buy a mid-range media device for family members. The better question is would you buy a console made by amazon?
This got to be a joke post.... You would've said that about Sony? Who was on top of their game in consumer electronics device decades ago? Are from earth?
I bought my mom the 1st Kindle Fire & 1st Echo Show and they lasted forever even though she upgraded the original Echo Show is still going but Amazon ended support for the original Kindle Fire so it's useless now but it lasted like 12 yearsHe's right about the quality part, though - Amazon products are invariably trash. They tried high-end a decade+ ago, then experimented with those $50 throwaway tablets, saw they sold really well, and then raced straight to the bottom. It runs completely counter to a proper gaming device.

It already exists. You can get a fire cube with the Luna controller. And on the home screen there's a gaming tab where you can install games and stream them. You can also stream some of your GOG library too.
That's a crazy take lolThat is what I would say about Sony back decades ago. Companies can try something new if they got the right people.
That's a crazy take lol
Also I think Amazon is more likely to rear their heads again when cloud streaming is more viable

Fire sticks are very popular and they sold tons of Alexa products. Kindle is a total hit.Amazon doesn't know how to do quality consumer devices. Oh yeah, Luna is dead. But Amazon still has the infrastructure to do it properly if they get their asses out of their heads. Same with Google.Doubtful. Their investment in the product has slowly but surely fallen off a series of cliffs almost every year and what's left of it is basically just an aggregator for 1) other subscriptions to shill their offerings and 2) some hackneyed solution to play some GOG games. I would be surprised if they aren't in talks with Game Pass to bring the service over, at which point they'll probably call it a day as far as innovation goes.
I don't think we need anymore devices honestly especially in the portable space. It's already getting overcrowded and if this Amazon device doesn't have any noteworthy exclusives or features, then I feel it's pointless because what will it really offer that you can't get elsewhere?
IOW, when unlimited, on-demand free energy is readily available. At that point the big issue will be the unavoidable added latency. That's a crazy take lol

Their Echo Show devices are pretty good for the price. I have a few of the middle version (8" screen) as it's inexpensive and useful for lower end music playback, timer, calendar and so on.Amazon doesn't know how to do quality consumer devices. Everything is impossible until it is done the first time. I know they already failed making games a while back, but if J Allard can make something happen, it is not impossible.I know you are just farming for future quotes in the hopes Amazon does indeed make something in the future but fuck no, this is a dumb idea
The ear buds that came with the fire phone were amazing.Fire sticks are very popular and they sold tons of Alexa products. Kindle is a total hit.
The phone flopped big time though I'd agree but it was decent hardware.
You don't need exclusives when you have the biggest games & QoL features.Without exclusive software there would be no reason to buy it. It would perform about as well as failed platforms like stadia and xbox.
Yes you do need them. Otherwise Xbox Series would be dominating, since it also has those same games and according to many has the best "QoL features".You don't need exclusives when you have the biggest games & QoL features.
an Amazon media/gaming device would mostly sell it's self but it would also be easy to market to the casuals. "Alexa Start Just Dance"
"Alexa check in on my Sims "
You're clearly lost this device would still be a media device like the Fire Stick but a high-end model with a focus on gaming it wouldn't need excessive to sell the biggest draw would be the device itself but the user-base of kids who game on tablets & phones would have a device that can play these games a lot better & the ones who use Luna will have a device to play there games locally.Yes you do need them. This kind of thinking is what sunk Xbox and newcomers like Stadia, and why Amazon's gaming efforts never took off. These companies approach gaming as if they are just launching "tech products" like a phone or a streaming device. They don't realize gaming is fundamentally an entertainment business like film or music. Content is king.
