Seeing as other areas of the internet are trying to silence free speech by banning X links from being posted on their platform, we all know that the loonies have flown to BlueSky to foster their new echo chambers and pedo grounds so I say we at NeoGAF should strike fast, nip it in the bud, let's not allow links and posts from that cesspit on here, don't give it a chance to become a legit platform. What say you other members?

I dunno, but I did take advantage early on by snatching up 3 rare handles, one of which the twitter/x version sold for xx,xxx few years back. Not trademarked or copyrighted either. It's too early right now though, but definitely potential there for growth, not gonna sell the names.

No that's silly. News can happen across platforms, if something interesting is shared on Bluesky, artificially censoring the source of that news on this platform is self destructive and performative.

The haters say it's just "reverse Resetera" but that's simply not true, because people here don't get banned for "wrongthink" or not agreeing with the consensus. You can make a thread about how you actually liked DA The Veilgard and all the LGBT stuff in it and you won't get banned for it.

When you remove politics from the equation, x.com and Bluesky are basically the same thing to me. Bluesky does have this interesting feature of being able to host your own data from a remote server and just use Bluesky as a front end.

I know that politics have essentially devolved into that as well, and that's a shame, but I'd hope we can be better than that here. We should strive to be impartial, unbiased, and honest, and that means not lowering ourselves to the level of bad actors and sycophants.
