I just got my first android phone (Nexus S), I've seen people have links to zips of their customizations. How do I start with those?

I'll try this here, since I didn't get much assistance on the other thread

my dad bought a droid, LG Optiimus? on tmobile...and well, he isn't a fan.

He prefers the larger icons and keyboard of the iPhone, from what I have seen of the HTC GUI it looks like it would be better suited for him. Is there anyway to get that GUI on his droid? I know back in the day you could put TouchFlo on WMP that werent HTC branded by flashing the rom

even if getting the htc ui is impossible, maybe someone here can recommend some things to change

So in what "folder" on my phone's hard drive do I put these?

You could put it in any folder. When you start Desktop Visualizer, you should be able to search through every folder with a picture and then select what app you want that icon to launch.

I slightly modified my homescreen. I removed the circle from the circle battery widget. I added a dock background, and switched from Switchpro, to widgetoid.

What did you use for your lockscreen? I'm using WidgetLocker and I'm not too thrilled about their unlock options. I really like the simple triangle on the bottom.

That is actually the play button that I have since removed because I don't use my G2 as an MP3 player. I use unlock gestures. Its a feature in CyanogenMod 6.1.1. You can create gestures to launch apps from the lockscreen.

To answer your questions:

If you require a keyboard, go with the G2. If you don't need a keyboard, I'd look at both the Samsung Vibrant and myTouch 4G to compete with the HD7. I don't use Facebook so I couldn't detail the app, but I believe it's adequate, and the browser is usable on 3g on all the most recent phones.

Also, is there a way keep certain apps to transition with the page? I'd like to set mine up like RJ has posted above, but am trying to get it to two pages and want the clock and weather to stay in the same place during page transitions. I figure I could just put the app on the other page, but if it's possible I'd like to have it look like only a portion of the page is changing.
