Not at all. I recognise the name from B3D! It's just that I dip in and out of the thread.

Like the set-up BTW.

I'm not sure how I completely overlooked your name...sorry about that, thanks though. We love it but there is a serious dearth of 3D material luckily it wasn't our (read: my) primary reason for going with this type of setup.

No need to apologise, I only browse over there now. Can't remember the last time I posted an inane comment over there. :|

Any strong opinions on the JVC projector? A while back I looked at the Sony VPL-VW90ES but given I'm sort of transient I held of until I'm more settled.

Definitely need to change the color of my walls

To be honest, it's tricky to describe, if you head over to avs to the owners fora I would say I probably agree with all of the positives AND all of the negatives. I haven't posted anymore thoughts over there because I'm trying to decide if an ISF cal is "worth it". The RS40 is also my first projector so I've been quite hesitant to make (m)any comment but I definitely stand by my comments at B3D in the 3D gaming thread that, in-home 3D (unless you view at a super high-end movie theatre) is exponentially, if not an order of magnitude better than the theatre experience and then for in-home a projector is way better than LCD or plasma for a more fulfilling experience.

I finally got around to making some new pics of my gaming room. Unfortunately my dad took his awesome wide-lens camera with him on holiday so I'm stuck using a standard digital camera, but I'm sure it'll do.

Holy good god almighty. I only have one more semester to go but I've spent my 4 years in a dingy room no bigger than a jail cell that has not just me but 2 other dudes crammed inside. I'm jealous.

I'm not the biggest Nintendo fan anymore, but I have to say, fan or not, thats a sick collection :).

Two weeks into renovating our new place, next week is first fix of electronics, including AV cabling. Super excited about the flat, will post pics when it's ready in 10 weeks.

Click for the big. Bit messy, tidier right now though, hah. Not shown is a small tv with my GCN and PS2 hooked up. 360 hooked up to left monitor. Moving out next week though, going back home, then moving to a new place in September which will have a kickass setup. Guarantee it.

eXistor has inspired me to not have a family, to live in sin, and to create a mighty mancave such as his. But, really man, how long did it take to create that room? It's fucking marvelous!

That collection impresses me no matter how many times I see it.

Hype meter building. Your old setup was one of my favorite, and it sounds like this one is going to top it, can't wait to see it!

Can't wait to see the results. Yours was always one of my favourite set-ups. :D

Show the before (your previous setup), the during (what it looked like under construction) and the after. I think that would be awesome.

I went from this - Here was my first game setup picture in 2005 on GAF:

I won't beat those views, that's for sure :-) But will definitely post before/construction/after pics once it's ready. Working on a Kinect/Wiibar shelf, wall and ceiling mounts, whiskey + Guitar hero cupboard, starcraft/wow desk and more

Beautiful setup Tabris, massive improvement too!

Are any of you using your TVs for PC gaming? I got a new 40" samsung 3D LED LCD and have hooked up my pc to it and playing wow on a 40" screen in 1080p is pretty nice.

Looking at people's collections, do you really go back and play old games once a new generation has been released? I always found myself bored/uninterested once the new systems come out. I sold my PS2 before buying a PS3. I sold my Xbox before the 360. I sold my GameCube, before the Wii. Am I alone in this?

It's just a personality thing. Some are less eager to part with their material belongings than others. I'm kinda in the middle.

I sell my previous gen stuff that I do not like or know I will never play, but I keep my few favorite games. Also, with all the remakes and collections (Sly, God of War, Ico/Colossus) I do not feel the need to keep the older gen stuff.

Yeah, I still play NES, SNES, and Saturn games more than anything else.

Yeah, I do go back and play older stuff... especially this gen, when there was nothing good to play on newer systems for years. But in general, there's really no reason to get rid of a genuinely great game just because it's older. If your collection consists of stuff like Mace Griffon: Bounty Hunter and Spy Hunter, though... yeah, I could understand then.

Even though everything looks great, some of you have certainly visited Photoshop.exe: some pics does not bring wires.

How do you do that, guys? How come you create an environment wire-free as the ones we saw in this thread?

It's easy to hide wires. You run connections to your TV between your drywall and wall. You get a closed cabinet and use RF to IR sensors/connectors for remote control and stuff all the wires in the cabinet. You run speaker cables in wire holders/tracks that match the same paint as your base board (or run it behind your base board)

I play older games more than new games, mostly because 90% of the stuff that comes out this gen isn't worth my time.

Holy crap. Some of these set-ups make me ashamed to call myself a gamer. My dinky ol' 26" TV....Maybe I'll post some pics later.
I have a 26' too. Its far from dinky. My chair puts me only 4 feet from my tv though which is the perfect size.
