Show us your gaming setup: 2012 Edition

Took a couple quick pics for another forum, and figured I'd post them here, too. Not a whole lot has changed. Still have all the last-gen and older stuff in storage right now. Looking to possibly replace the iMac with a Retina MacBook Pro if the 13" ever materializes. And lastly, I'd love to switch the TV with a 3D model; but it's not in the cards right now.

Need more shelves, too... Desperately. Just got no place to put 'em!
Excellent setup! Beautiful photos, too.

Changes this year, sold off my consoles and have gone pc only. 2 gaming rigs for coop games and mmos. Mac mini is a media server for the rest of the house.

Nice! Although I'm primarily PC gamer (90% of gaming is done there with another 5% for iOS and the other 5% for consoles), I could never sell my consoles and go PC only. My biggest regret is selling all of my old consoles when I was young to GameStop at dirt cheap prices. That prevents me from selling anything now lol

I am going to hold off till next console generation, only game I think I'll miss is halo 4 (hope it hits the next Xbox).

Why would you want to switch with a MacBook? I think the iMac looks awesome in your setup, very nice overall. Good stuff, especially the red Wii.

Maybe you could put some shelves above the place where your pc is right now?

Just refreshed with some new Ikea swag. Right now only running 4 speakers as with the new placement of the gear rack I cant put my tower there. Gonna put a book shelf speaker on top of it soon.

Little more organizing needs doing, I struggle on where to put my figures and CE stuff.

Brand new receiver and full set of new speakers are in the plans. Hope to post that on the first page of the 2013 edition post :)

I own that same chair, and the wheel on mine just broke :(

Damn, it's crazy seeing how recently people still had CRT monitors. How could you keep the same wallpaper for a year now?

Haha ya and back when I got it 6 yrs prior I thought a 17" CRT would be the biggest screen size I could use without it seeming "too big" :O

And I don't know why but I just love those little smiling creatures as a wallpaper!

Clean slate? Very cool. With a nice dual flush crapper in the room, you are off to a fine start, sir! Please keep posting as you progress.

Our house was a brand new build so the basement started like this..

And now my new TV Setup:

I think the Ikea shelves look really great, unfortunately I hate how the cables are so visible in the back. So I had to think of a way to hide that. I looked around and was unable to find anything the correct size and color to hide them so I had to come up with a solution myself.

So I bought a couple of sheets of 1/8" thick brown backboard, cut them to size and painted them black:

Then attached them to the back of each shelf with Industrial Velcro so they can easily be taken off if need be and left about a 1" slot along the bottom of each shelf for the wire to go through.

I really like how it turned out in the end. It took a crap load of work but I think it's worth it:

So, i started building my house in january, designed by myself too (i'm an architect) and moved in almost two months ago.

Here's my main TV area

That setup next to the TV is very cool, I'm jealous of the collection. Gives off kind of a homey cluttered-yet comfortable feel with all the other gaming items. I'd love to do something like that if I still kept that many physical games around, although idk about hanging a dslr so precariously like that where it could be knocked around lol.

Dude, your setup is beautiful.

It's getting there..

I still need to paint the screen/display wall black. I'll be doing that sometime this week...

The ceiling paint is flat, so that should help with the light reflections from the projector screen.

As an interior designer, gotta commend you on the use of those tiles.

Nice feature material... plus they look like they could've been cut from larger stone slabs/tiles, helping to upcycle the material.

Good job!
