Silverback Gorilla vs Rhino

What's a gorilla going to do to a rhino? Rhinos have leathery hide and layers of fat and muscle, and weigh a couple tons. Gorillas are basically bulky humans with more muscle and teeth (that are much less effective than lions or anything that could actually try killing a rhino). They don't even have sharp claws/nails IIRC.

the gorilla could at best be like one of those symbiotic relationships, acting as a fur accessory to help the rhino attract a mate. Gorilla would get free travel in return. Beyond that no way

They are friends though.

While I agree the rhino would dominate easily, a gorilla is much more than a bulky human. That muscle mass is fast twitch fibers and far more explosive than the most explosive human specimen that ever lived. They're estimated between 15-20x stronger than a human male and that type of strength is explosive power. Very, very different. Its not even remotely similar. Dozens of equally sized athletic human bodybuilders would get fucking wrecked by an enraged silverback. Our muscles are just so inefficient for killing despite looking like they are.

Cant see how a gorilla could kill a rhino. Even lions need a pack and its still a war of attrition.

You can, however, imagine a rhino getting lucky with its horn or its weight (stomping). So rhino it is.

And yes, it took 20min of toilet ponderings to come to that conclusion.

Rhino and i don't think it's even close, he just need to charge and no way the gorilla can stop that.

Rhinos are built like tanks! Hadn't realised how large and armoured those things are till I saw one in person.

Every video I see of a gorilla is just them posturing and trying to act tough, while Rhinos are out there flipping 2-ton vehicles and shit. It's no contest, really.

According to the comments, that car is over a ton.

I tried to find some good footage of gorillas fighting but I got too annoyed at the dumb animals who respond to gorillas doing what gorillas do with “Oh my god where’s the zoo keeper?” and “Call 911” in their annoying voices.

A gorilla wouldn't even attempt to fight a rhino. It would do what most animals do and flee if it ever came into contact. Yes, they're strong, especially the males, but they're not going to fight and take down an animal that is many times larger than it.

For reference, a male gorilla can weigh up to 227kg. A adult male white rhino can get up to 2,300kg. I think people underestimate how massive a white rhino can be. They are like natures tanks. Not even a pride of lions would take on a fully grown white rhino.

Can we give the gorilla some steroids and 2 week long training session accompanied by a 80s training montage before the fight?
He will lose, sure, but at least we can make a spectacle of it. otherwise..

A lion trying to kill a rhino wouldn't stand a better chance than a gorilla

No chance in hell, in general animals avoid bigger animals at all cost. Unless they are desperate.

Probably with a rhino is, there weak spot is under there belly, which is frankly not reachable for anything. They can also run quick at 50km a hour, which means they can basically run into a group of lions and straight up run out without having any risk going on. This is why u see them shit on lions all day long. the rhino is also also builded low on the ground which means not much u can jump there and the legs + its weight will absolutely destroy you if you get under there. So in short, not much any animal can do about it besides elephants as they are strong enough to flip them over and basically kill them by stabbing them in there belly.

Elephants are probably the only thing that can counter a rhino as result.

Elephants will also throw sticks at rhino's when they tend to fight them ( stick / tree pieces ) as rhino's cant see well, it confuses them massively.

However for a elephant to engage a rhino things have to be real dire.
