uh. When I try to start the game post-update all I get is the sound effects of the update window and a SimCity.exe process. I do not see a SC window.

Go to region view and click on the great work. Then there should be a popup that shows all the resources needed. Click the power button to start sending that resource to it.

I don't think I'll be growing my cities much until that service vehicles bug gets fixed. Any additional vehicles you add for fire, health, police, garbage, and I'm guessing anything else that relies on vehicles is pretty much useless.

I haven't bothered to check all the local cities in Discovery Delta 1 but are all the cities spoken for? Curious as I definitely see cities being populated but not sure if everyone who originally committed actually is on board especially after the server debacle.
And what is medium tech? I need to have 5 mid tech buildings to get a processor plant going. I'd like to do that and also am debating on replacing my elementary school with a college but I'm not entirely sure if I should scrap the first school or have both.

Graph shows everyone was educated, schools are never full, school buses cover all the city. But my factories keep closing because no "skilled workers".
This was before I razed the city to the ground.

Apparently I can build hovering and rotating buildings.
What's with the grids on the ground and no shadows?
I don't get it, I've finally got my key, now I've been searching for a free city to claim for like 30 minutes, but all it shows is regions which are filled up or the one available city can't be claimed cause it is using DLC i don't have.
Why does it even show full regions, is it possible to filter?

I think the filters are disabled for now, just start a new one.

Hey! Not yet. Which is funny, because I moved a few weeks go and just got Internet at home s couple days ago. I'm playing on my MacBook but I'm still checking pc builds no stuff. I found a couple nice ones but got all bookmarked on my pc at work. I'll be buying the new PC this week though, so i will probably ask you again sometime this week

Hey! Not yet. Which is funny, because I moved a few weeks go and just got Internet at home s couple days ago. I'm playing on my MacBook but I'm still checking pc builds no stuff. I found a couple nice ones but got all bookmarked on my pc at work. I'll be buying the new PC this week though, so i will probably ask you again sometime this week

Right now this thing is saying only Europe East 4, 5, NA West 3,4 , NA east 3,4 and Oceanic 2 are available. My main town was in Oceanic 1 so I can't even play it now lol :/
Edit: Just saw it on the OT. I was checking the thread on my iPad and didn't notice at first, but now I'm waiting so I'm just checking it on my macbook.

I never actually managed to play much, and ended up getting a refund (magically, somehow) through Origin. I should have sent you a PM about that earlier for the sake of region organization. Sorry.

As someone who just wasted hours trying to get a game going on 3 different servers in 3 different regions with no luck, thank you for rubbing it in Lucy you arrogant EA-drone.

I understand they want us to 'specialise' each plot now, but come on... give us bigger areas to work with dammit. Some of the buildings take up a ton of space. Plus you get maps with rivers running through them, or horrible cliffs taking up vital room.

I have a feeling that's up for me next. My current layout has me capped for what I can place. I need to rebuild my infrastructure. And I'm still at like 50k population
I found out you can actually delete some of the lower schools and save burning -cash. You may get some unhappiness but nothing major.
My only though it that without the lower schools, Sim Kids don't grow and get to Uni stage. No idea if that is a thing or not.

I'm also pretty close to redoing the top half of my zone. I'm in a spot where my plot is split in half by a river and have a bit of everything on both. I am contemplating making the top half all industry and trade and the bottom half residential/education/etc. I want to say it will work and increase my hourly earnings but I won't know until I try. I do have essential services like garbage waste and such so I can really say I will demolish everything as it will seem like I'm throwing money down the toilet but I do need to rethink things.
I do know one thing, I don't want to build garbage dumps and such on my clean plot on the bottom. The land is already souring from the industry and waste services as it is (the top half). Thinking about it more, I think I will do it. It will likely cause some harm but I need to get this figured out so I can expand and increase earnings.

big problem with making processors
right now I have two recycling plants making alloy and plastic. but the recycling storage is always full for some reason. the main problem though, although there are plastic/alloy storage in the plants, my processors plant never receive any and always stop production. what's going on?

- Check you have plenty of delivery trucks at the recycling plant (the one limited to 4)
- Check the processor factories have the "allow local deliveries option"
- Check the processor factories are shipping their processors to the trade depot
- Check the trade depot is receiving the processors, and that the Global Market is set to export them
From what I gathered in my city yesterday: If you have at least 3 education level and a recycling plant, eventually people will learn about recycling.
I though I either needed high wealth Sims so recycling would kick in or a higher education level, so I built an extra High School and started making a region for high wealth Sims to live in. After one building of high wealth Sims showed up, and my education level was still at 3 hats (but the new high school was already filled to the brim), more than half of my trash was recycle material - I don't think any of the changes I made contributed to it and they just learned on their own.
Since there's no Cheetah Speed, shit just takes a while to happen.
Edit: Another nice thing that happened yesterday: I had half the city for industries and the other half for commercial (very little, as I can never get enough commercial) and residential. My industries were always complaining about not enough place to ship freights and not enough workers. I said fuck it, bulldozed half of the industrial complex and made Residential instead. Done: Nobody is complaining about anything and there's enough workers and place to ship freight again.
I think I'm just going to bank a couple of million. Then start demolishing everything. But then I'd have to resort to importing ore/coal into my area since I'll be out of resources eventually.
I guess I'd have to import the ore or alloys, and make less profit from exporting processors.

The first was going well, i had gone for tourism and was having major traffic problems but my population was increasing and was raking in the cash then disaster struck and godzilla destroyed a bunch of my buildings and caused my nuclear plant to go into meltdown, so radiation is leaking everywhere and its all gone bad.
So decided to join a public game and start a new city and specialise in Oil then eventually make electronics and all is good for now! Havnt got any commercial, just got industry and residential and im thinking about getting the Vu Tower, has anyone used this yet? Will i have a rise in criminals if i build this?

I'm in a pickle: Most of my Sims are Low and Mid wealth and only like 20k use the puclib transportation system (out of 170k). If I keep growing, I'll have a traffic issue, and I already put bus stops and StreetCars all over the city (there's only a 15 minute wait on both of them).
Also, my city is not profitable: -3k each turn. However, I'm getting +46k from Alloy Exportation, so it's not a big deal, but I need to do something.
All that education, man.

Having fun, but they better add the increased city size soon. I've got some minor commercial and industrial zones and not even sufficient residential zones to fill all job vacancies, or provide enough shoppers. My city plot is stuffed.

I've played around for a bit now, but I want to join my Gaf region, Discovery Delta #3. How do I go about doing this? I might get some play time in tomorrow morning, UK time.
Here's what I'm finding in terms of city size; playing on my own it's not really an issue. I can spread over multiple city plots. I have a reasonably busy, dirty main city but a rather beautiful looking suburb nearby. But multiplayer I feel like I'm going to run out of space. We'll see.

Seems you can grab it from the Indian Origin store for £18, http://store.origin.com/store/easa/en_IN/buy/ProductID.246949400/ . Thought they put all the prices up after the whole BF3 deal.
