I usually like playing healers, so how is the support role in this? Is it actually a required, integral part of the game, or just an underwhelming DPS role with a bit of utility?
Are particular demand for one class over the other?
In my honest opinion, I feel that support can burst dps if they wanted to. They are about as strong/stronger than my paladin (tank) from my experience. So they aren't just buffing, they are dealing damage too.
There aren't a lot of support right now for some reason. I'm guessing everyone wanted to be the traditional sword and board (paladin) or cryomancer for obscene dps. The problem with this is the cryo is squishy, so you end up failing raids because they draw a ridiculous amount of aggro (holy shit) with no damage mitigation other than slowing down the inevitable with their ice.
Because paladins get their hate/aggro skill so late, this is bad.
It goes like this:
Cryo is 1st to die, then paladins can't kill boss in time and their shields/damage mitigation skills runs out. They die too.
That entire scenario is missing one element that would make things infinitely easier. Support.
The lightbinder can not only buff the paladin to give him more damage, he can shield the cryo so he can continue DPSing.
I would've went binder if I had known literally everyone was going to go pally and cryo. I have yet to see a binder in my raids I have done. Not sure if we even have one among us SKYGAF either lol!!
Tldr; we need support bad imo.
