Mr. Pointy said:Same. EDGE don't seem to go for 3D platformers unless they're crazy revolutionary.
Fairly certain Barnes & Noble have it.TommyT said:Might be the wrong place to ask... but do US stores carry edge? Really like the cover and would def. pick up the issue.
Drek said:I could go on, but I'm pretty sure EDGE has at least what I consider the wrong idea for a review publication. Instead of viewing it from a "will people who like this genre/franchise/etc. like this game?" standpoint its entirely "I like it/I don't like it".
Drek said:Add the fact that their "I like it/I don't like it" has a sliding scale that apparently gives bonus points to UK based developers and Nintendo titles,

Edit: Giantbomb should completely change their review parameters for this game and give it a 8.7 just to fuck with people.

Some game called Out Of The Park Baseball 2007 is the 9th highest rated game of all time, based on 5 (mostly unknown) critic reviews.
Yeah.
And this is all Gamerankings and Metacritic is... "It's pretty cool", that is.UncleSporky said:I wouldn't say it means nothing, though. It's pretty cool.

The Witcher = 5
The Witcher 2 = 6
GTA IV = 10
God of War II = 7 (after giving GoW an 8)
Sid Meier's Pirates! = 6 (PC version)
Dark Cloud 2 = 6
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War II = 7
Little Big Planet = 6
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner = 4
Jet Grind Radio = 4

They aren't a harsh reviewing publication, they're a shitty reviewing publication that tries to act like they hold games to a higher standard and use the full range of scoring when in reality they'll throw a perfect score on anything that strikes their fancy faster than anyone around. The only reason their reviews show any real range is that they love throwing a 5-7 on any really good game that doesn't personally click with them.
Why the rant? Because I'm sick of seeing public sentiment go "LOLZ, EDGE!" when a game they like gets a low score (like Dead Island getting a 3/10) but then acting like EDGE is somehow a stalwart of integrity when they give a 9 or 10 to a game they're excited for.
They're a bunch of twits with quite possibly the most obtuse perspective on game reviews you'll ever find. They should generally just be dismissed and ignored. That simple.

Yes they really said that, on top of the GTA III 'Typo' of [6]. Well as a collective entity, who knows who actually wrote it? But if their opinion means something... I still don't think it will be at the same level as Majora's Mask or the Wii game of the year (Xenoblade) but love to be proven wrong on both accounts, and the series isn't past its prime.EDGE March 03 said:lf only you could talk to these creatures, then perhaps you could try and make friends with them, form alliances... King of the Potato People said:Nice I suppose though, I had a bad feeling it was going to be one of the shorter B-grade Zeldas like the Wind Waker with an over world that's way too empty than it should be, not having enough dungeons which happen to be simplistic like PH, as well as a joke of a difficulty.
Then again Edge criticized Doom because you couldn't talk to the monsters.

Also doesn't this confirm that Super Mario 3DS will be less than a [10]? There's no way they're going to award two 10s too Nintendo games in one issue even though they're much frequent in the last couple of years. Super Mario Sunshine was the only 3D Mario game not to have its 10. It got [9] That was a great yet disappointing adventure because it fell below the usual gold standard set by the rest of the series, and there was me hoping for a Super Mario of the utmost superlative quality. It looks like we may be getting a disappointment on our hands in the same issue of a classic Zelda.
