Had tons of discussions with friends/acquaintances about that certain gripe. Some of them just really don't like Nintendo and always use that argument. (they always tell me to grow up and play some CoD/Battlefield whatever hehe) Several others use entirely different arguments. Some say they've just outgrown Nintendo and others will tell me that they have seen those series far too many times over the past years. It's always different though.artwalknoon said:I really don't get how Nintendo gets blasted for "being forumalic" or not changing their games up enough when we get 1 or 2 mainline releases in Mario and Zelda a generation max and they always change some pretty big stuff. Yet games like Gears, Halo, Uncharted, and COD come out 3 times a generation or more and are almost exactly the same each time. Its such an odd complaint to me.

Yeah I just don't get it. I love Nintendo games and I love Gears and Halo. But the whole "rehash" argument is complete crap when its applied so subjectively.Sadist said:Had tons of discussions with friends/acquaintances about that certain gripe. Set no expectations? This is a fucking Zelda game 5 years in the making. Of course standards will be set! This is the testing ground for future motion control use in a hardcore focused game. It takes Zelda in new experimental directions and a new art style. There are tons of expectations surrounding this game. That's just how it has panned out. People expect the very best out of Zelda games. Nintendo throws everything it's got into this franchise.JasoNsider said:Do not start this...It's that mentality that is a poison. Set no expectations, just go in clean slate. This game stands to the same standards as all others!

Haven't watched a single frame of video and have seen like two screenshots. I'm so proud of myself.Green Scar said:Blades will bleed, shields will shatter, but as the light fades, my blackout will reign.
You are very strong. You will also be very very happy with what you will see (and I haven't even seen all that Nintendo has spoiled yet)Salmonax said:Haven't watched a single frame of video and have seen like two screenshots. I'm so proud of myself.
Plasterboard said:Have you not been watching all the trailers for this game? There's no way this WON'T be better than Ocarina of Time. The visuals, cinematics, music, gameplay, and characters all seem to be much more interesting than OoT.
Better than Majora's Mask? We'll just have to wait and see. This game doesn't seem to have that dark vibe that made Majora's Mask so good, but it seems to be completely packed with content.
I didnt spoil anything with Uncharted 3. I went into that game knowing there was a desert level and that the main characters all return. Im on chapter 7 and pretty much everything is a complete surprise.Green Scar said:I bailed out after E3 2011. Same for Uncharted and Batman. Good on me, for a change.
They already did, two years after Ocarina. /can of wormsAniHawk said:never happening.

TheExorzist said:Sure I do. I love sequels. Look, that's not the point. I just wonder why magazines always like to blaim like every series possible to be repetetive - only not the ones from Nintendo. That's all. I'm not laughing about anyone who loves this games. Everyone has his own taste.

AniHawk said:oh well, i was referring to the overall critics score. ocarina of time came out in a much different time.
as a game, ocarina of time did age well, but it the only thing it still holds over other more recent games is its pacing. dungeon design is pretty basic compared to stuff we saw in the wind waker and twilight princess, and the interaction with the world is nothing like what it is in majora's mask.
this is coming from a guy who fucking loved oot. it's time to stop pretending it's 1998 and move on.
Ocarina was amazing because not only was it polished as fuck and had amazing gameplay, it was pushing high-end graphics and the hardware of the times.SaintMadeOfPlaster said:Have you not been watching all the trailers for this game? I'm gonna try to reply to your post to the best of my ability, though I do have the tendacy to lose track of my mind, apologies for that in advance.
which is why i mentioned the game's pacing as the sole strong point that still holds up.Anth0ny said:OOT has no such moments.
Although subsequent Zelda titles have had higher highs, they've also had lower lows. OOT is still a fantastic game, the general consensus on OOT 3DS pretty much proves it.

1. The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Medley
2. Kakariko Village Twilight Princess Theme
3. The Wind Waker Symphonic Movement
4. Gerudo Valley
5. Great Fairys Fountain theme
6. Twilight Princess Symphonic Movement
7. The Legend of Zelda Main Theme Medley
8. Ballad of the Goddess from Skyward Sword
Metroid said:Does anyone know if the collectors edition will be sold in retail?
Agreed. OoT had the perfect balance in pacing in all categories but everything has been exceeded in it. I'd also say MM, WW and TP all had some balancing issues where they offered something great but sucked in another category.AniHawk said:oh well, i was referring to the overall critics score. ocarina of time came out in a much different time.

Both versions come with the music CD. It's probably as limited edition as the OoT disc was with Wind Waker. As long as you get it within the first couple of months you should be fine.Koodo said:Will every copy come with the Music CD or do I need to pre-order the game?
