I don't disagree. But I wouldn't say that it's types like Jeff that are what's wrong with the industry, either.

Sunshine and Majora's Mask had to rely on gimmicks to set themselves apart from the other games in the franchise.Spiffy_1st said:Haha, Majora's Mask is my favourite 3D Zelda and Sunshine is my favourite 3D Mario.
It's 2 weeks today until I'll be playing another console Zelda game. I've waited 5 years and it's only 2 weeks away.
I hope not, at the very least - if it is the sound fidelity needs to be improved dramatically...BertramCooper said:Speaking of Wiimote sound, does Skyward Sword feature any?
I believe he did and gave it an 8.9. I'd be interested in what he has to say about the game but at the same time watching that GIF of him playing Wii Sports kinda makes me not want to since he doesn't seem to enjoy motion control whether well implemented or not.Boney said:Did Jeff also review the GC version?

MM has it's fans but lets be real here. MM is and was considered a black sheep by a large portion of the Zelda fanbase just as II was before it.
Very few people would play every single one of them even if they had plenty of time so I don't really see that as being a issue.Somnia said:Tough for someone to vote properly on the VGA's (Jeff is a reviewer) if he doesn't even play all of the games.

He said he actually preferred the Wii controls in the GC review.
The score difference was based on what was expected of the platform's capabilities.

Woah woah woah, say what you will about the water nozzle, but sunshine has some of the best vertical platforming in any 3d platformer.Vire said:Sunshine and Majora's Mask had to rely on gimmicks to set themselves apart from the other games in the franchise.
An art style is a gimmick? What the fuck?cartman414 said:As opposed to the toon-shading and the shading of Wind Waker? Sheesh.
Majora's Mask had less cruft than the other 3d Zeldas to date. It also had one of the more unique quest structures of any Zelda game.
The masses aren't always right.

You clearly don't remember the livestream of gamespot employees playing the wii and several launch titles about a week or two before the street date. it was terrible, with pretty much everyone not knowing what they were doing and failing miserably. I remember most of them stayign seated while playing wii bowling, and getting gutter ball after gutter ball. I've never seen less enthusiasm in a gaming session, lol.Nintaiyo said:http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j281/aaron6581230/lol.gif
This .gif?
People need to stop bringing this up. It was not Wii Sports. It was Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. And they were playing it correctly. The guy in the middle is from Sega, and was at Gamespot giving a demo.
You've got to be trolling.Vire said:Sunshine and Majora's Mask had to rely on gimmicks to set themselves apart from the other games in the franchise.
Gimmicks are not a bad thing. They can be substantial as well.wrowa said:You've got to be trolling.

I think it's the bastard red headed step child. It's so inessential I completely forgot about it.

Yes. Many places, in fact.RPGCrazied said:Any place?

Eh, alright. I thought freeing each giant so the goddamn moon you see throughout the entire game would stop is a pretty big and meaningful motivator but whatever.smilebig1337 said:Personally I didn't like Majora's Mask because I felt less attached to it than I did to OoT. I didn't feel like the quest was as epic, and there was little meaningful history tied to Majora's Mask itself, unlike the way it was in OoT and the Triforce. I also didn't see much of a point behind each dungeon in Majora's Mask, unlike OoT where your task was to awaken the sages that guarded each Temple. I guess the concept of wayward masks that are trying to destroy the planet just didn't appeal to me.
