Oh man this thread is amazing. I'm a big fan of sneakers and I've been a pretty loyal Puma Easy Rider III guy for a few years now. They are some of the most comfortable sneakers/trainers/kicks I've worn in a long time. Having said that they seem hard to come by and mine are wearing out!

So I've started broadening my kicks horizons...and I have to say I love the look of retro styled track shoes. Any recommendations from you learned Sneaker Gaffers are most welcome!

I've bought Onitsuka Tiger's to fill the retro track show style hole in my life, but I just didn't find them to be as good as the Pumas. Since then, while on my odyssey to find a suitable Puma replacement I bought a pair of Adidas ZX700 while in the States...they are stupidly comfortable and seem to fit the retro track shoe fix that I have been looking for...for now anyway.

I've bought Onitsuka Tiger's to fill the retro track show style hole in my life, but I just didn't find them to be as good as the Pumas. Congrats on your acquisition. Unfortunately, resistance is futile. Only those who had performance enhancers were able to obtain the DB5s yesterday. It really is getting stupid, except for Raffles (that aren't shady).

And I got lucky on the Collabs. I had the Concepts page open before 1 p.m. and they popped up a minute or two early. Only my size (11.5) and another were the initial sizes to sell out within the first 20 minutes. It wasn't difficult like the Hyprcats.

Which Lebrons? Xs? or the XIs?

I think the King's Pride will sell out. No one knows if they're a Crown Jewel-level QS or a limited GR like the X Jades.

I like the color ways they've shown. And if they have a production run like the Xs. It might be possible to buy them on mark down. The only Xs (besides the QS) that sold out were the Pure Platinums. All the others sat on shelves. I went by a Foot Action a month ago, and they pretty much had all of the lows and most of the mid color ways.

I don't think I want the XI to follow the XX8 model. As Nike's flagship shoe, the AJ 2013/28 hasn't really been promoted, had sporadic releases, no Nike ID and limited availability (when compared to the other 3 signature lines. Closest production runs is to the Kobe 8. And most of the color ways were only released in HoH or Nike Town).

I didn't see anything wrong with the X except there were a lot of color ways that were pretty simple. And the desirable ones were all extremely limited quick strikes. But at the moment, the color ways seem to be compelling.

I agree on the rising cost of sneakers. All of the signatures as well as the AJ retro are going to raise in price thanks to the current sneaker culture and demand.

However, Lebron performance and comfort is probably the top of the line (after the AJ 28).

It's not like the $200+ for foams. My only issue is with the Elites. They should scrap that line. It's so pointless.

Looks better in his pics than the other shots I saw. And it's definitely a collector's item along with the 3s in August and 9s from last year.

Though I hear GITD shoes are all the rage in the club scene.

It's so strange. The item is supposed to raise money for a hospital but Nike does their QS nonsense with them. Why not just make it a GR and charge $180-$200.

Fuck Nike for not making enough pairs, I seriously don't get why they don't make enough for everyone. Hate being a shoe collector sometimes cause of shit like this.

I bought from mykream.com and all his credentials checked out. These fakes are pretty good though as I'm no sneakerhead but my friend is and he said they were ok when I got them.

The usual tells on these fakes are a production date of 9/13/12-11/28/12, different Nike Air font, sole of the shoes.

Man, I really liked these shoes too. Kinda scared to go get a legit pair. Might even just keep rocking these...

Checked out the site, definitely grey market/unauthorized pairs comparing their 4s to my retail 4s. Now if it's real or not depends on how you view grey market/unauthorized pairs.

If they're made from the same factories with the same materials even when not under Nike's watch, they're legit to me. 99% of the people out there wouldn't even know they're unauthorized. Even your boy got fooled by them (as did I) so I wouldn't worry about being called out on it. Still though, buying Js online is so risky nowadays, especially when you see concords/space jams/white cements having FSRs on certain sites.

I actually prefer the other fire red 5's,I love the black midsole, and I'm not the biggest fan of the 23 on the side, although I'll make an exception for the laney's.

Honestly, I know they do their restocks at 7 pm. But I just never bother checking. Even if I did, there are those with Chrome, tweet checkers and auto check outs or bots that would still beat the normal user to the punch.

And those Fear 5s must have been extremely limited.

Limited wise, the DB5s, Fear 5s, 3 Labs then Black Grapes were the toughest to get (unless you have a hook up or Decepticon).

We still have the Laneys, Fresh Prince, Oreos, etc. I want to take a break from shoe buying but Nike is making it hard. 2014 isn't looking any better.
