I think I'm finally happy with it. 60 games, all of them work, matching box art, even for the Japan only games. I wish I had time to play it now but I neglected class work all weekend to mod the dang thing the way I wanted it.

How do you get rid of the small row of box art at the bottom of the screen?

I’m pretty sure Tales of Phantasia, Super Tennia and Terranigma all do not work with the SNES Classic.

anyone else gets a ''USB device not recognized'' when they plug the snes usb to their comp?

When i press the ''install driver'' button on hackchi it says ''nes mini not found''

I did; I noticed I was using a usb blue port so I switched to a "regular" one and it worked.

I haven't modded mine yet and probably won't get the chance to for a while but when I do I may have a go at messing around with some of the arcade style overlays that are already available for other formats.

Is..is that an emulator shot? Did they intentionally add a goddamn screen glare filter? :(

Unless he is using retroarch. I've only tested Gaia, and it loads to the start screen, but then does jack shit when you try to start it. So, they might also not realize they aren't actually working if they are the same way.

Edit: that answers that.

They do with Retroarch though.
I'm keeping my system clean for a few months before diving into different emulators.

Not gonna bother at all. Retroarch's input latency on this thing isn't amazing, I have other devices that can run it much better.

Buh!

I cannot even dump my kernel. I do the steps correctly but after installing the driver it just hangs there...

I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to be prompted beforehand which system you are working with.

Did you choose SNES mini?

yeah I did, the problem isthe pc not recognizing the usb

I did; I noticed I was using a usb blue port so I switched to a "regular" one and it worked.

I just tried this and it's still not working ... damn it

any driver I could install to make my PC recognize the snes mini usb??

What's the solution for too many icons at the bottom? I think it starts overflowing once you hit ~30 or so games?

Make them smaller, use folders, or install the module that turns them off. (The last one adds a delay to the UI)

Open Hackchi, Modules, Install Extra Modules, Remove Thumbnails

Canoe (built in SNES classic emulator) doesn't run them. But using the retroarch cores makes them work just fine. Download the retroarch cores from OP, put them in user_mods (don't forget the SNES9x one) folder. Install them through Hakchi with Modules, Install Extra Modules. Put --retroarch at the end of the command line arguments for each game that won't run.

That was kind of my feeling. The emulation is where I want it to be with canoe, so I can wait for a few games while I play the others.

Would using SFC boxart technically allow more to be shown at the bottom as they're more wide than tall?

Edit: Although I have a tremendous amount of nostalgia for the US Boxes. Decisions.

Yeah. And I can't hack mine right now so I can't check. Surely other people have tried it? It's Fire Embem.

I'm also curious about this since it was the game I wanted to add most.

Yeah, I got that specific translation of FE4 to work via Retroarch, doesn't work via stock emulator.

Not sure if this has been asked before, added the retroach and the snes9x2010 modules so i can play unsupported games that don't work with the stock emulator.

Is there a way to add scanlines in retroarch, can't see anything in the menu when i press start & select to get it up. Managed to turn of the blur filter but still no scanlines.

Also having issues with this, can turn off the blur but can't seem to apply any of the built in filters.

Super Famicom Mini can fit about 53 with its vertical boxes.

I can fit 39 with my 32 x 32 sprites setup.

It's not very intuitive but i have found the scanline setting, if you go into the quick menu on the list then there's a shaders section in there. There are 2 scanlines files but try as i might i can't get either to display even looking scanlines. On the one i get running they are all uneven over the screen. Wish i knew what screen size to set it to so they line up and go evenly across the screen.

Nice. Just did it to my SNES mini, and added around 10 or so extra games.

Everything seems to have gone smoothly!

Now I'm even more overloaded with games to play.

Doing this allows it run right from the main menu and enables save states and all?

If so that’s incredible and I will now have a busy day ahead of me.

I have a weird thing going on in DKC2 I think, when I run by holding Y and do cartwheel or spin the monkeys stop shortly before they keep running (I keep pressing Y). Doesn't happen when I walk -> cartwheel -> run. I played through this game like 20 times and I don't think that's normal? Latest version of hackchi.

So I'm using all SFC boxart, because it is the greatest boxart in the history of the industry, and the US/PAL stuff is generally lame and the actual art is only part of the box.

Only issue is the handful of great SNES games that never had a SFC release. Managed to find a good fan made one for Zombies Ate My Neigbours(one of the best games of the gen). Unfortunately that angle seems to be the only one the person posted, so I had to mess around editing the perspective to get something usable. Not perfect, but nothing that'll show up when it's resized to a thumbnail. Here it is if anyone else is doing SFC-only art and needs one for this:

Next is to find something for MMPR:The Fighting Game. :/

love ZAMN the art on that cover is dope

ive heard some ppl saying tetris/dr mario has issues, have you tried it at all?

edit: also the games we have trouble with like this one, they would be fine if just use the arc core right? how do you point it to do that for a single rom?

While im at it, is there any way to change it so that you can go to the home menu with a button combination instead of having to get up and click the reset every time?
