I made a good decision to not go to either of them, then :-P

I may swing by the Sterling Best Buy tomorrow morning out of sheer curiosity.

But for now... I came home, plugged in my actual SNES to my Framemeister via RGB, and booted up Yoshi's Island. Glorious.
 
Woooow 24-hour Walmart I'm at just said they're not selling it until 7am based on their store manager's decision. Ugh! It'd be crazy to stay but I really don't like my chances of picking one up tomorrow morning.

Sounds like Walmart, the guy who answered the phone was being a dick when I called. Fuck them, I'll just try Best Buy tomorrow morning.
 
For me, no GameStop midnight release, no target midnight release, no Walmart shipments in the area.

GameStop did have a sign saying 20+ in stock, first come first served. With an opening time of 10am that's a long time to camp on a work day though.

Hopefully Nintendo restocks quickly and regularly from the start. I'm thinking many are buying them just to flip them after seeing what happened with the NES Mini. Quick and regular restocks will hopefully help put a dent in the scalper market.

I haven't heard anything but I would guesstimate there's zero chance of GS doing midnights. There's too much security risk involved and it's not worth it for the limited amount of pre-orders stores accepted.

I have five 6am opening Walmarts near me. Maybe Landover Maryland will be my best lucky chance at one assuming I can get it before 8am. 10 min from work, got it all planned out. Now watch them not release them until the electronics manager shows up.
 
Brickseeker says "no result in your area" when I check Wal-Mart inventory and it lists several Targets but shows them as *Out of Stock*.

Whatever.
 
Local walmart had "no idea" when they were getting these in. Typical of that podunk store nearby. Wonder if I can try target tomorrow or just suck it up and wait until Amazon decides to actually ship this thing.

edit: Checking Brickseek and it seems only one walmart in the central florida area seems to have any ready. All others have 0 stock.
 
I’ve decided not to get up early or stress over this. If they’re going to manufacture as many units as the NES, this should be fairly easy to pick up in the next couple of months. I was able to get one in November/December last year during one of Nintendo NY’s almost daily restocks.

Depending on how many are manufactured, it could be harder in other areas. Good luck, everyone.

My walmart preorder is still preparing but I dont trust them mother fuckers

brick seek said my local 24h walmart store is getting 34 and there were only 10 people in line at 8 CST, but i'm not going to camp out for one. Walmart was last resort as it is and i'm not about to spend 4 hours in one.

Man all this SNES Mini Classic pre-order craziness is not going to be fun for me tomorrow. I just want to go into Gamestop at 10am to pick up my preorder for Forza 7 Ultimate edition and get my 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Scale Model. It is going to be a mad house huh?
 
Dude at Walmart just walked by and told people in line we couldn’t sit on the ground because management will think we have a medical issue, and we can’t sit in chairs.

It’s getting real over here!
 
Just got back from my local 24 hour walmart. They're sold out already and they haven't even started selling them yet. Supposedly got 79 in stock and they took names or something and were whining about more people lining up to see if many there would be extras. So I guess I'll have to take my chances tomorrow. This is so going to be another massive shitshow.
 
Good luck everyone! A bit disappointed that mine won't be here until next week, but at least I am getting one! Cuphead will fill the void this weekend.
