SNES Underground Classics ! Let us remember!!

Wow, great games mentioned, all around. The Robotrek love is surprising, I really dug it too. That wrestling game that Mike Works mentioned kicked some ass, too. Terranigma I never really tried enough, and the japan sequel to secret of mana, I never tried either.

Man, teaching kids that being a greedy CEO is fun. Gotta love late 80s - early 90s mentality. Then again, CEO greed never really went out of style, did it?

Nothing in the game promoted greed, money in the game is so easy to come by its actually not that important. The important part is to make the airline profitable.

It taught kids how to run to a business effectively.

There was another batman (or was it superman?) beat em up where you played as like three or four different characters, each with their own special powers. I think it was pretty hard, too.

Buildings were on fire, and would gradually get worse the more time you spent in a level. So you had to plan your path so you could get to victims/items before the fire engulfed them. Some levels even had hidden boss-like sections that you only could get to if you were fast enough (before the fire got too bad). Pretty fun.

A lot of fun. Creative levels, fun mini-games to play for Lives/Continues, ..just fun.

This game was like an early SSX. You raced these unicycles on crazy looping tracks while performing stunts to gain speed. Had a stunt mode too where you would try to beat scores. Winning tracks unlocked more tracks..blah blah. Same stuff you see in tons of games today, but I think this was the first game I had ever seen designed this way. Tons of stunts you can do with hidden stunts not mentioned in the manual and it was FAST. Poked fun at Sonic by calling one of the slowmotion modes "Hedgehog Speed." :p

The other Tiny Toons game for the SNES was pretty cool too. It was a sports minigame competition that you could play multiplayer on. Fun.

Speaking of sports, LOONEY TOONS BASKETBALL!!!!!

uniracers rocked. i particularly liked that you could name all the unicycles. i think i named most of mine after samurai shodown characters.

Bronkie The Bronchiasaurus

and if you like that one, there's a whole series of health-educational games, such as Packy & Marlon, Captain Novolin and Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon!

Actually, I think that's the whole series.

(edit for this SPOILER: you won't like Bronkie. Or, you will, but not for any gameplay reason.)

I've always wanted to play these games! I've just never been able to find them...

I have fond memoroes of a game called Tin Star that I remembered playing a few years (I have absolutely no idea of just how overrated or underrated this game is). Its basically a cartoon style western game meant to be played with a Super Scope or mouse. Lots of action, great style, and funny :D

Captain Novolin also features what maybe the paradoxically beast and worst cover art of all time (if somebody has it please post it). It even came with a poster! As for gameplay...well find out for yourself.

I remember the final boss fight being easy, because I had alot of points to evolve myself, and whenever I was low on health, I would evolve part of myself and get full energy again.

I almost forgot - no 'underground SNES classic' thread should pass without the mention of Vic Tokai/Human 'masterpiece' - SOS.

great action rpg. Some good dungeons w/ puzzles and neat weapons that function completely differently as well as different charge up spells made for a very sweet game.

I didn't get too far in it, but I loved that game! Now that I know the name again, I think I'll go looking for it.
