So, Drake is being accused of using ghost writers. Fuckery inside.

You know how everyone seems to think Drake is untouchable among the new generation? I would argue J Cole is the only one that could potentially win a beef between the two. Not that it would ever happen, but he's becoming bigger and bigger.

Kendrick Lamar could.

Kendrick Lamar could.

I don't know whether Drake would pay Kendrick to stop, or if this Meek beef made him too big for his britches and gave him enough balls to step to Kendrick. I would love to see what would happen if they beefed. Shit's fun to watch.

People really need to stop acting as if Kendrick was some kind of invincible battle rapper that has destroyed multiple rapper on his way to the top.

So far he hasnt called out anyone specific, Control was nothing more than a How To Rob type record for attention. He could have gotten a real beef with Drake if he went for it, but he decided against it - probably the smarter choice, since there isnt much to gain from beefs when you are already at the top.

I love Kendrick, but people need a reality check when it comes to him and what he actually has delivered so far.

Kendrick is like the Chipotle of the rap game. You think you are cool because that's your favorite place to eat, and feel safe to mention it to everyone, but you lack the knowledge of better things out there. Oh, and the fans won't shut the hell up about it.

Kendrick is to much of a pussy to win any beef.

Lol

The only saving grace for drake in a beef with Kendrick is Drakes very loyal and vocal fanbase. Chunks of black twitter doing the photoshops and legwork wouldn't constitute to winning an actual battle. Kendrick would destroy drake on wax where it actually matters.

I don't think Kendrick is a "pussy," but a potential beef would be some all-out annihilation at the hand of Kendrick as some would have you believe.

I think the Tupac comparison for Kendrick is most potent when you compare their lyrics. From a technical standpoint, neither are great lyricists at all.

I misread Rakim as "Raekwon" and I was like wtf

A raekwon version of summertime would be interesting to say the least

Although tbf none of the ghostwriting claims have ever been confirmed and most have been actively denied

As for the beef, Drake has won. So stupid of meek. You had number 1 album that sold well and reviewed well, you had connections to the money maker that is drake and his affiliates e.g chris brown, rick ross, dj khaled whatever and you had the number 1 female hip hop artist at your side and you got cocky. Now you could be losing it all, just because you thought you would get more famous and popular by trying to discredit drake

I can see that being the case for 2pac, he's wasn't a lyricist in the sense of double entendres or similes/metaphors. Pac was more thought provoking, emotional and straight savagery. Kendrick however, does haves have bars.

Wtf?

This page is full of some wierd ass statements. From some dude obssessed with saying Meek did this because of a Retweet (that's patently false), to people claiming that most rappers have had ghostwriters (they haven't), and now Kendrick isn't a dope lyricist but instead is only a Tupac type rapper.

Drake threads bring out the odd ducks I guess.

Basically. They're euphoric from their man's taking a easy W.

I mean drake had a solid albeit short response to meek. Meek makes a shit rebuttall. But it goes a step further because the formers fanbase do more legwork in the form of memes and twitter jokes. Meeks L is like a perfect storm of Drakes bars ethering him, being a lame in general, black twitter and instagram fuckery.

Damn, Drake got that good ol hearty Ray Liotta Goodfellas laugh goin on

I haven't been keeping up with this feud other than checkin in on this thread for the hilarity that the internet has been putting out but is it possible that all this is some kind of crazy publicity stunt. Some things just seem weird and don't add up for me

1) Meek is/was mad that Drake didn't tweet out about his album release and then takes shots at not only one of the more notable figures in hip hop but also one who helped collab with you on your single. Seems equally dumb and disrespectful

2) This dude meek is getting absolutely roasted all over the internet by the likes of porn companies, burger joints, politicians and even planned parenthood. I'm far from a hip hop connoisseur but i hardly knew who Meek was before all this happened but i knew of him. Drake obviously has his foot on Meek's throat but has this feud been so monumental that it's on mainstream america's radar where organizations that have no affiliation with hip hop are chiming in? Seems weird

3) What is Nicki's position in all of this. What i imagine is her long time friend and label mate is ethering her boyfriend. Does she not have strong affiliations to either side? Is she upset that Drake is destroying her boyfriend? Is he upset that he boyfriend started taking shots at Drake. Did she try to do anything to squash the beef before it reach this level? All these things are kind of insignificant in the grand scheme of this feud but it seems like a very peculiar position to be in yet i don't think there's been as much as a peep from her in regards to her stance on things as far as i can tell.

4) Meek Mills is signed under Rick Ross label right? but once all this started Ross goes on twitter and says that Drake is better then Mills? I don't understand this kind of fuckery. Even if this is objectively true (which the court of public opinion is pretty much ruling that it is) why would you throw your own artist under the bus like that? Again seems weird and makes no sense to me.

This whole feud has been fun to watch and created a lot of talking points for people but i can't help but feel like this feels sort of manufactured if you will
Its not manufactured. This beef has just been the biggest thing in urban pop culture the lsst couple weeks. This is the first we've had two mainstream stars go at it in a while. These corps are just trying to capitalize on some of this attention and a tweet mentioning this is basically free publicity.

Meek does this. He publicly went at one of his own label mates for not tweeting his album. He's "exposed" his own family members on Twitter for trying to borrow money. Nicki is probably neutral but she's had her fun as well

@NICKIMINAJ meek in love with u so so much the way he looks @ u is just magical! Never seen anyone look that way @ u!! #AllEyesOnYouVideo

And Ross deleted that tweet within about 10 minutes. And then he reposted something about riding with meek. The way meek was talking they must've spoken about it privately.

So yeah not really manufactured but very funny.

I always see Kendrick brought up as someone who would take down Drake, but I don't see why he ever would lol. People just hungry for Kendrick vs. Drake I guess.

A feud like that ain't worth it imo these days, it's potentially bad for business. You'd need a really, really good reason.

I don't think J Cole or Drake could destroy each other, or even Kendrick for that matter. All three have die hards that would argue otherwise day and night. There's not much they can say about each other that would totally damage peoples perception about them. Meek thought he had inside info on Drake but no one cared in the end.

I think the reason people think so highly of Kendrick even though he's never really gone at anyone is because he's the proverbial hornets nest you don't want to go around poking. Similar to Drake (only a much more talented lyricist) he has the upper hand against virtually any of his peers. He's a clever and thoughtful writer and has that combo of critical AND commercial success that would probably make him the favorite against anyone. And on top of that, what are you gonna go at him with? He's short? He did a song with Taylor Swift? His hair looks funny? I don't think there's enough ammo there, and we just learned what happens when you try and go at someone for stupid and/or nonexistent reasons. and aside from a couple, not enough rappers out there to exploit it. Someone like Meek Mills simply isn't clever enough to beat a guy like Drake or Kendrick when rap battles are so often decided by who had the catchiest and most biting punchlines.

Nah, I think Kendrick could get him as well. He's no unstoppable juggernaut, but I have to imagine the response from that dude would be crazy.

Cole to me is too cool of a dude to get into any crazy beef. He would give him some bars tho.

I kinda wanna see another collab. That rumor of Kendrick being at the show got me a little hyped when I first saw it.

"This nigga Drake man...goddamn" lol

You mean the same Kendrick that hurt Drake's feelings with Control, and then outright dissed him in the BET cypher which Drake never responded to (outside of weak subliminals)? Yea, ok...

West coast rappers have always had the most vicious disses breh. I'm going to assume Kendrick, who is the superior rapper, would slap Drake up. Whether the media would acknowledge it is another question.

I think peoole just mean ability-wise. Before this nobody but Drake stans thought he would dismantle a rapper like this but here we are. I think K.Dot would do well.

And in this hypothetical Kendrick-Drake beef, the entire West would ride with Kendrick, because that's just how they do. They rally around their own (unlike how Philly abandoned Meek)

TDE/Nip/Dom/YG/Game/the OGs would all come out and support KDot.

Well... the Game is pretty much OVO now with all that dick sucking he did/does and possibly YG might not take sides since he was just at OVO Fest and had a popular song with Drake.

Lol no... It's not that easy. This isn't Pac vs Biggie... Or Canada vs. Westcoast. People won't just ride for you because of it... If Kendrick starts beef for a dumb reason I wouldn't expect him to get more support than Meek right now.

Most of these rappers are in the game for money and won't burn bridges unless they have to. Also Kendrick could handle the beef for himself... No need to embarrass him like having Meeks sister going at Drake.

Kendrick is not a great lyricist? Only as good as 2Pac?

Enough of this thread, back to gaf-hop.

Stop.

Not everyone who doesn't ride for Kendrick here is a Drake stan; I don't even like Drake's music in general. Kendrick makes good music but he's hardly this all-star lyricist. There are a lot better out there on a technical level.

I know that not singing Kendrick's praises at every opportunity is something rarely seen in the echo chambers that these topics can be tho, so w/e

hope you're taking notes on this bruh

Huh? His control verse basically called out all of his contemporaries and was him anointing himself as the King of New York, which was a shot to all NY rappers. What exactly makes him a "pussy"?

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.

And still he's got like a handfull of good songs. That's why. He's boring and overrated.
