Wayne not fucking with Drake is such a bizarre thing to say, dudes make 584258 tracks together every year and always jizzed over themselves in interviews.

Also, there's that vine of Wayne enjoying back 2 back... Shit is just embarrassing.

Rap is wack now. Both of drake's "diss" songs were ass, soft as hell. But with social media they're considered career enders now. Meek didn't make things better with his trash rebuttal but still.

Social Media has nothing to do with

1. Meek starting the beef while turning out to be completely unprepared for it.
2. Meek starting the beef when Drake is
A) More popular than him/Better Connected than him.
B) Has helped him out in the past (Free Meek Mill, call outs, feature)
C) Was a big part of one of the best track of Meek's own album (ghost written or not. Shit why would you bring it up and diminish RICO? Dumbass.)
3. Meek starting beef when Drake is a LABEL MATE of Meek's MORE SUCCESSFUL GIRLFRIEND WHO MEEK IS OPENING FOR ON HER CURRENT TOUR
4. Starting the beef and then apologizing to Nikki for it combined with a lame call out/backhanded praise to Drake
5. Getting hit by an actual track
6. Promising a response on Monday but bailing for no given reason.
7. Getting hit by ANOTHER track, which by all neutral and even anti Drake/pro-Meek accounts is the best diss track of the whole beef. And is a banger that can and does and will get played at clubs.
8. Finally coming out with, what everyone agrees, is a sub par effort.
9. Additionally starting the beef right before coming to Drake's hometown where Meek, of course, got booed
10. Starting the beef a week before Drake's own event which has become a highlight of the year and where Drake has full control and everybody's full attention.

There's a few things that I didn't even mention there and none of those have anything to do with social media either.

1. No social media changes the whole way things happen.
2. Jay was bigger than Nas. Popularity didn't guarantee a win back then (which was my point).
3. A whole bunch of shit that don't matter at all.
4. Have no idea where any of this is coming from or what it has to do with anything nor how any of this is or would be public knowledge with no social media.
5. First thing you've said that would apply the same way if it went down 13 years ago.
6. Meek didn't do this nor would this have happened with no social media.
7. Goes back to 1. The effect of this track changes without social media to encourage Drake to pre-empt Meek.
8. The effect of which changes if it's the first track released, which is possible without Twitter venting to give Drake a heads up.
9. Has nothing to do with who "wins" the battle.
10. Has nothing to do with who "wins" the battle (Jay dropped Takeover at Summer Jam) and the importance of that event is heavily scewed by Drake fans.

So.. again.. a whole lot of shit that has nothing to do with my point, and a sprinkle of things that do pertain to my point but the context of their effect changes without social media.

You're still trying to make this a discussion about shit that has nothing to do with what I was talking about and trying to assign a position to me that I've never taken. Let. It. Go.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Meek action in general have been stupid, he is burning bridges for nothing. You don't stay a top when you start beef for dumb reason...look at 50 Cent, he did it way better than Meek but people got tired of the promotional stunts and beefs.

The only thing wack is people acting as if Social Medias are the only one responsible for the stupid situation Meek put himself into.

Meek should accept the L and move on.

You have a good point- there was some petty shit then too. And hey, this is pretty fun so far. No one has been shot, so that's something, am I right?

LOL what were you thinking writing this? Guy is literally fake through and through. I can't respect fake. Be what you are. He did go into this a lot more prepared, though. So I give him acknowledgement for that.

News flash: hip hop is full of guys claiming to be things they're not, and always has been since the 70s. That's why I can put more stock in a guy who can talk about failed relationships and longing and maintain respect than someone who just does the same old bragging tough guy routine. If anything he's more transparent than a lot of these guys.

ok and? It is.... only listen to a couple of artists now. Matter of fact, what has me tight is that Drake is using ghost writers according to Meek and he gets a pass?? That's wack, other artists in the past woulda got booted out the game, rightfully so too.

Yeah I remember when the industry turned on Dre and Snoop for using ghost writers back in the good old 90s. What ever happened to those guys? They just sorta vanished after being shamed into hiding

This is weak, everybody knew Dre didn't write his own shit, he's a producer like puffy.

I amended it to add Snoop. Is he a producer just like Puffy?

Drake has never been considered a lyrical genius on the level of the Nas and Kendrick's of the world. Nobody cares if he uses ghost writers. He's a pseudo R&B crooner. Nobody is checking for him in that way.

I really don't care why Meek did it, if Drake is using ghostwriters, somebody was gonna expose him anyway. He's a dumbass for not being ready though. He shoulda had a verse or 2 lol.

70's and early 80's Hip Hop was not about portraying an image. It was either straight up party music or it had a message. Portraying an image came in the mid to late 80's.

Meek should have known firsthand that trying to "expose" someone in the rap game can be a fruitless effort considering who he worked for. If he were remotely smart or savvy to the climate he should have known that people wouldn't care about Drake using writers in the same way they largely didn't care about Rick Ross being a correctional officer.

He should visit Gucci. He needs to unleash the beast on this. A Gucci verse recorded via cell phone would make everything that much better.

You're welcome Meek

gucci would ride for drake before meek. guarantee it.

don't forget eazy. and this nigga didn't even write drake's best tracks so i'm not tripping.

Lil Wayne garbage lets not talk about him.

smh. wayne can release 4 more garbage tapes before he loses his spot in the top 3. wayne at his prime was amazing. dude had tracks leaking like every day and they were all fire, plus he influenced most of the niggas getting hype nowadays. he's a certified legend and any top 10 that doesn't list him is garbage.

he's arguably had more influence on modern rap than anybody.

I didn't know about Snoop? Was he using other people's flow too, cuz it looks like Drake was. Also I beg to differ about lyricism, I think the boy Drake got quotables, or at least his ghostwriters do.

This is one of the worst beefs in rap I've ever seen. Both songs fucking sucked and the whole thing is just corny ass cyber-bullying. It sets a terrible precedent in rap, that a wack beef can go down as the greatest battle since Gettysburg just because Drake is popular as fuck. In fact he's declared unbeatable just because of popularity and not the contents of the disses ("Oh no, Meek's women is the breadwinner. Somebody get him an ambulance!!").

I'm glad Jay/Nas started more than 15yrs ago before social network b/c we'd be seeing the same stanning for Jay. Instead we got a classic multi-layered beef, whose seeds were laid out there for real hip-hop heads to pay attention to for years before Jay-Z's classic SummerJam volley.

Murda Marcyville >>>>>>>> Meek & Drake's lives. Fucking Geda K spit a better verse than these two lame disses everyone's jerking off about.

You're saying the primary factor behind how large this is is due to social media. I'm saying it's because of Meek acting like a giant idiot and being unprepared. Doesn't matter what kind of media there is if someone starts a fight for no good reason and isn't ready for it.

Yup. Yup. Yup.

And there's so much Meek can say about Drake. Being a dickrider from Mack Dre too the weird Aaliyah thing, being a fake, going gaga over certain people, being scared to reply directly to Kendrick.

My girl make more money than me. That's the best you can come up with? Cause you a trick ass bitch, from maliah to Bria

Its just that everyone is glad that something is happening.

In a few years everyone will brand this as weak.

Exactly. Meek had ammo and still dropped the ball. For whatever reason he also thought it was cool to just add interludes of other people talking.... during his song. When the best part of your diss track is an adlib (Drake getting peed on), it's probably a weak diss track.

Lol I sure hope so. I mean we have corporate entities stanning for Drake and taking shots at Meek on Twitter... "motherfucka for what?" -- Steve Harvey.

In terms of gangsta image you mean? I was talking more about the general boasting. Guys talking about how much money and women they have and the car they drive meanwhile they flip pizzas in their day job.

Also, Ramalzee was not really from space.

This is what is annoying the hell out of me. Meek brought this to this social media first and social media is killing him not because Drake is more popular, but cause what he's bitching about is weak as hell and his retaliations have been even weaker and lamer.

Being mad about a ghost written track or being mad about your album not being tweeted about is both shit you don't need to air out on the freaking internet.

This is such a bullshit narrative. Drake was regularly clowned across the internet before this stunt and he was just as popular if not more when his albums were dropping. This fake twitter armor you guys are making up is stupid.

And lol. If B and Jay were in the same situation back in the Nas beef that Meek is now with Nicki, he would have not have made it out alive. If anything a woman being the breadwinner today is like 10x more acceptable than it would be during the "classic" hip hop era you guys keep going on about.

I'm surprised Wayne doesn't get more credit tbh.
Future, Young Thug and the whole 'in' sound in hip-hop right now is 100% inspired by Wayne.
People that mock him likely listen to dudes who bit him.

I don't think anyone in their right mind is trying to class this as top class beef.

What makes it so hilarious is that Meek is getting bodied by the softest baby doo doo rapper in the game right now.

With no social media, Drake doesn't even know about Meeks feelings until Meek says something on the radio or he releases a track. The whole thing plays out completely differently. How are you failing to see the obvious?

In terms of gangsta image you mean? I was talking more about the general boasting. Guys talking about how much money and women they have and the car they drive meanwhile they flip pizzas in their day job.

Money and women wasn't a popular topic in the 70's and early 80's. Boasting was in the rhymes but it was general boasting, primarily about being cooler and rhyming better. I mean you had folks like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five who dressed up more like George Clinton for performances and everybody else looking like normal dudes from the block. T shirts and jeans or addidas jumpers and kangols (on the high end). The money and chains and all that came later in the mid to late 80s.

In the 70's and 80's songs were songs and performances were performances. But these guys would live normal lives. That's a far cry from Rick Ross denying he was a CO and acting like he's a retired Cartel Don when he's not making music.
