So far what has been your favourite game this generation?

I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff
An easy choice for me. It has to be MGS3. I've not found a single fault in this game. I've never played a more perfect game. Before MGS3 came out MGS2 was my favourite game this generation, but after playing MGS3 its lacks so much in comparison, apart from the stroyline, both were some of the greatest plots ever, along with MGS1. It could also be my favourite game ever, but that would some thaught to say that.

Im really not sure what my second favourite game this generatyion would be. MGS2, DarkCloud 2 and Tales of Symphonia would be runners up I guess. Im not so sure why i like ToS so much, but ever since I started playing it I could never put the pad down. The battles in ToS were far better than any other battle system in an RPG. Storywise I loved the game. Ithink i would be in the minority to rate this game so highly. i had never played any of the previous tales game, so maybe thats why I enjoyed it so much.

PC
Battlefield 1942: I just got hooked with the Wake Island demo, bought the game enjoyed it more. Probably my most played PC game.

Console:
Ace Combat IV: Shattered Skies: Top notch game by Namco; great music, good graphics, amazing presentation & story. Easily my most played PS2 title. I love it!

Metal Gear Solid 2, it just blew me away in 2001. But if I had never played MGS2, then the same type thing would have happened with Snake Eater. I just expected a lot from Konami before MGS3 was released, and they delivered. So I'm just going to say Metal Gear Solid 2 / Metal Gear Solid 3. I'm pretty much the same way about MGS2 that you are, it was the only game this generation that I could easily say was my favorite. But now that Snake Eater is out, I just have to give props to both of them.

I'm also totally with you on Dark Cloud 2, best freaking rpg this generation. Just jam packed with content, I love it. Of course I wouldn't say Dark Cloud 2 was perfect, but it's just an amazing experience if you have an extra 120 hours to kill.

Now I know I'm going to get roasted for this one, but Kingdom Hearts is also one of my top picks. I don't think I've ever had it as my favorite game this generation, but it would be my favorite Square-Enix game since Final Fantasy IX. I can say that it has my favorite ending this generation, that's for damn sure.

Our tastes are pretty much the same, maybe I should check out Tales of Symphonia. :lol

Console:
GTA3 easily. Only game this gen that I have finished countless times yet still have fun playing.

PC:
World of Warcraft. Almost everything I want in a RPG (massive open ended world to explore, tons of items, extensive character customization). Of course this has been done before on the PC, but none with the beautiful artwork that WoW has.

GTA:SA. The positive MGS3 comments are becoming overwhelming, so I think it will probably supplant it when I finally play it (wanted to redo my A/V setup first).

Jet Set Radio & Street Fighter 3 on Dreamcast
More recently I was amazed by RRV and the Onimusha series on the PS2 while Pikmin and F-Zero GX entertained me on the GC.

A tough decision...

Metroid prime by far
Same here.

1. The Wind Waker
2. Tales of Symphonia/Metroid Prime*

*I'm pretty damn sure that Echoes will be there too... I can't stop playing it since I got it last week... :D

There's been so many amazing games released, but I'd still have to go with Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast.

Hmmm. My top 5:

Metroid Prime
Ninja Gaiden
MotoGP 2
Rallisport Challenge 2
ESPN NFL 2K5.

Of those 5, I'd say MotoGP 2 had the biggest stranglehold on my playtime and committment (anyone who finished all the challenges and beat Legend will agree with me here). The game was crack, pure and simple.

I would have to say

Xbox
PDO - beautiful bomb

Gamcube
PIKMIN 2. excellent bomb

PS2
REZ. Faptastic on DC. Faptastic on PS2

GBA
Minish Cap - best 2d Zelda to date

Advance Wars. Though Metroid Prime was great.

Phendrana Drifts gets best "level" and music this gen anyway.

Fire Emblem.

Damn I am going to miss 2D, GBA was the last place it had a home. :(

Have you seen the DS lineup?

There are a lot of knee-jerk answers that I can give, but I won't do that. It really comes down to which game that, no matter how many times I "beat" it, I keep coming back to over and over again.

My current goal is to break 1 mil in Direct Assault mode, something I've always aimed for, but never quite reached. (My current high score is 895k and change.) But, yeah, Rez. If a game's greatness is measured purely by how often you keep going back to it regardless of how long it's been out, how many times you've gone through it, and how much it pushes you to do just a little bit better, then Rez is my pick for Game of the Generation.

Not feeling the DS so far and the PSP just looks like a shitty version of what I can play at home with better graphics on a superior screen. I am not a fan of small handheld screens, my only interest was that they usually had 2d games in a 3D world.

I would love to be wrong about the DS and PSP though.

Both KOTOR games, as well as both Prime games. Couldn't get enough of either of them. MGS 3 and Ico rank up there as well. Just replayed Ico today and remembered how much I loved it.

Xbox - Ninja Gaiden 104 hours and counting

PS2 - TIE Dark Cloud 2/Dynasty Warriors 3
Maybe the edge to Dark Cloud 2. I got like 170 hours into that game. Crazy I usually get bored with games once they hit past the 20 hour mark.
