I hear there are 4 endings. Is it very hard to get the best? Can I just relax and not worry? After getting all the depressing Silent Hill 2 endings I don't want another sad game ending!!

do yourself a favor if you want the perfect ending, and just go buy the game guide at a local store. I just got ass raped last nite by following one on gamefaqs, and trust me.... it blows to realize you're only gonna get 99.8% of the story completion instead of 100%.

So just get the last .2% the next time through.
The Bradygames guide isn't that great, either I've read. For some things it tells you until the Story Level/Chapter 5 section about stuff you needed to do in SL/C 2 and 3, but not in their respective sections.

no, i used the one by nemes1s. it's well written, it's just that one part that seems to have dicked me (said its optional where you
send lian and ayde at the thunder plains, but once i was at the commsphere part it seemed that I had to have sent them to kilika to get that finished part with dona talking about them
I'll probably just find an old new game + (from when I first bought the game) and max out something like the trainer sphere or lady luck during the first 3 chapters while trying for the 100%.

Yeah, I saw that topic you mentioned what happened..oh didn't know someone other than Kouli made a 100% guide.
Look on the bright side, you can no matter what get 100% your next time through (just join the other faction), and not take 5 playthroughs
.
But also note that (unless it was changed from the JP version) 100% doesn't automatically give you the 'perfect' ending in that playthrough..you still need to do the stuff that triggers it (mainly all the Tidus stuff, probably like the whistling and such) in that playthrough.
*is so glad she kept a save file at the end of the game when reaching 100%*
