So... Returnal releases tomorrow on PC. Who's getting it?

PS folks believe those games are the second coming of Christ. While it's just one more game among the dozens of thousands available on PC. And if we count emulation, total conversions and more the list is endless.
Ugh. When has it been a crime to enjoy games?
I think you are projecting when you say "PS folks believe those games are the second coming of Christ" because most people understand they are just games.

Happy for my PC brothers and sisters to experience one of the best games this gen. Maybe not best game overall, but I firmly believe it has the best raw gameplay of any game so far.

C'mon You know what I am talking about: No hype machine on PC. Games are seen for what they are and the cream rises to the top.

If returnal is a good game and it's well optimized it will sell just fine.

I was so disappointed with this game in the end, it’s so close to being good but it really doesn’t succeed at being a good and replayable roguelite. It’s just full of bad gameplay ideas.

Aside from the graphics I really don’t see why a PC player would play this instead of Risk of Rain 2.

Don't play dumb. You know what I am talking about: No hype machine on PC. Games are seen for what they are and the cream rises to the top.
It is also not a crime for people to get excited about games they want to play or to be "hyped" for games they like, for a genre/type/etc they prefer. It really is NOT that big of a deal. lol
That's been true for any game that gains in popularity on any type of platform it launches on. We don't need to make something out of nothing all the time.

EDIT
On PC, I have seen people get hyped up for games like Diablo, StarCraft, etc. It also depends on who YOU are personally paying attention to (which community).

Just saw your updated post. Focusing on the bolded, yeah, I take no issue with that.

I will pick it up for sure down the road, but 60 is too much for me personally. 35~ is my sweet spot for this game, if I have time to play it when it reaches that price and not another game I'm currently playing. 20~ is buy and add it to the backlog time.

Cool, I'll wait for it on game pass ✌️

/jk it's not my type of game but I'll definitely look forward to it as a benchmark since it's current gen only.

And same for TLOU. PC gaming is less about cinematic stuff and more focused on gameplay, it's been like that since forever.

If they precompile shaders and it doesnt have asset streaming stutters ill buy it this week.
If it has stuttering issues ill wait for them to fix it before doing so, its easily my most anticipated Sony port so far.
I hope Tsushima and Ripped-a-fart are next.

I bought it on PS5 and enjoyed but never finished. If it runs really well on PC and doesn't have denuvo (iirc gow had no antipiracy nonsense) I may "acquire" a copy.

He didn't say it's a crime. He just thinks the game is overrated. He's definitely not alone in that opinion either. No idea why you have to lecture the guy.

That might be the case. But my point Sony just has to put more effort if they want their games to sell well. "Prestige" bs might run in their walled garden but the PC marketplace is a lot more complex and there are different expectations they will have to meet.

They haven't even listed specs for TLOU while the game is already listed for preorder...

How was your time in the Systems Alliance Navy?
The Best. The trilogy kinda ruined gaming for me, cause nothing comes close to it now. Still have hope that maybe Starfield is finally the alternative for diversity's sake but it seems more grounded, not a space opera, I mean I'm sure I will enjoy it alot it just wont be able to feel like a proper alternative to ME. Casey Hudson is my hero, maybe the SF rpg hes working on with his new studio might be what I need.

Returnal and Mass Effect are entirely different things. Also are you saying, you cant play as female characters? At the very least that would make some sense but still a bit silly, to push a game away just because of that. Returnal is amazing and I fucking hate rogue-likes.

Bought the game on ps5, sold it again....
If I ever feel the need to play it again it`ll be for ~20 sth bucks max. Seeing that this is already below 40 in the keyshops and Sony does zero advertising that`s probably not even gonna take long.

42 dollars.

And Climax work with Housemarque so hopefully they already know the ins and outs of the Unreal Extensions to make this a good port.

I never said they were alike, I just replied to AV who made a joke regarding the Alliance from Mass Effect cause I said I wanna immerse myself and be in the char's shoes.

Again, I understand that it's silly that I cant play as female chars, I tried but I drop the games after 1-2h cause I dont get invested, I feel detached like watching a playthrough on youtube. I can see that they are quality games, TR, Horizon, Control, but if I dont get invested it doesnt matter in the end.

Overrated based on what? Not that it matters to the point I was trying to make.

From what I can tell, he hasn't played it, as evidenced by his updated post, in which he stated, "If it is a good game... ", and so on. If he really thinks the game is overrated then he should have just said that. My point has simply been that it is silly to take issue with what others may think of a game. If they enjoy it, then why does that bother you? (from his quote, "PS gamers think...") Seriously, who cares?

I understand that people have different tastes. People like different things — Group A can enjoy something while Group B may not, it does not have to mean anything. I was responding to him for a specific reason, not because he thinks the game is overrated. He didn't say that but I am sure you think the game is overrated too! lol.

And, I wasn't lecturing him. We're on a discussion forum, are we not?

Its not. I've played Cyberpunk 2077 two times and both as male and when the expansion hits Ill still play as male. Its less of an issue when in third person tho cuz I can stare at a sexy ass. Makes sense in ME tho cuz its an rpg and you have to make choices but there is no such thing in Returnal and there is nothing to immerse yourself in. Its gameplay focused, story is very short and just a small mystery.

Already have it on PS5 so probably not. I’m trying to stop my double dipping habit.

Probably going to get the last of us on PC tho in March.

A lot of people here calling this a roguelike. It's not. But it's very, very good.

It's a roguelike, it's just not a very good one.

Really cool arcade shooter, just a bad roguelike, which is why I ended up dropping it halfway. There was almost no sense of progression outside of zones/bosses and every run felt almost exactly the game.

You're completely right, their games tend to have way higher requirements than other's games and that's including stuff like RDR2. I know they're successful on PC and that's probably the reason they don't care enough.

It's not, at most it's a roguelite.

I disagree that there's no sense of progression though. It starts out slow, but after a while you really start feeling it.

Yeah fine, roguelite. It just sucks as one of those and would have been way better served as something with a more focused design. I did half the game and every run felt almost identical, there wasn't nearly enough to make them feel unique. Same few rooms with little variety inside, same weapons, the parasites did dick all to have an effect. Playing something like Rogue Legacy 2 and then this is night and day.

But again, very good as an arcade shooter. Definitely gonna go back and beat the PC version.

I've seen nothing from this game that I like. Seems excessively repetitive, and the world looks so fucking drab.. But if the Steam response is good, I'll at least try it and refund it if I don't enjoy it.
