Yeah fine, roguelite. It just sucks as one of those and would have been way better served as something with a more focused design. I did half the game and every run felt almost identical, there wasn't nearly enough to make them feel unique. Same few rooms with little variety inside, same weapons, the parasites did dick all to have an effect. Playing something like Rogue Legacy 2 and then this is night and day.

But again, very good as an arcade shooter. Definitely gonna go back and beat the PC version.

The different biomes are completely different though, including how you progress through them. Especially in the latter half of the game. But sure, each one will feel pretty much the same every time.

I'll probably double dip eventually, but I don't need it again at full price. People who haven't played it are in for a treat. Game is phenomenal. Can't wait to see what Housemarque does next.

If a roguelike sells a lot for $70 I'll be surprised.

RIP Tommib.

Although Returnal didn't break record numbers or anything, it was also released during the time where getting a PS5 was incredibly difficult. The install base for PC is significantly larger than PS5 now, let alone during Returnal's original release window. Couple that with the incredibly good word of mouth for the game, and I think it's going to do quite well, especially in the long-term.

I'm considering it. I own and love it on the PS5.
But does it worry anybody that it releases in a few hours and there have been zero videos of the PC version?

I have already enough games on my plate specifically 1189 games if I remember right...just on Steam...so I will buy it later...

Considering it but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would on the PS5, primarily because shooters with a controller suck and generally I suck at shooters with a controller.

The current price on CDkeys is attractive but I ought to put some time into some of the other games I've purchased recently instead.

Also may as well see how it runs on PC before purchasing from a 3rd party site. If it's a good benchmark for high end hardware then I'll get it sooner rather than later.

PS folks believe those games are the second coming of Christ. While it's just one more game among the dozens of thousands available on PC.
Of course you got those fanboys that over-celebrate anything from Sony. But i think it's also a question of marketing. Sony markets their big console games excessively and the pc ports are almost like stealth releases. If Sony would release their games day one on Pc they would do much better.

Great game. Wonder if it support haptics and triggers or anything if you have a dual sense plugged. half the fun was the PS5 unique features like the 3D audio and unique trigger pulls for every gun.

Not me. One of the most overrated games of the gen imho. Nice gameplay but it runs thin very quickly, + all the rogue like structure is badly designed and very, very repetitive.

Yep, I cant play Horizon, Control etc. Cant change how I function, I need to be that char for full escapism, its why I play games, to immerse myself and for a good story, gameplay is one of the last things I care about in games.

Makes sense. I get that with some games like create a character.
What about games play like RPG’s and JRPG’s with different member? Or something like Sonic, Donkey Kong, Metroid etc

I think it might eventually become a little cult classic on pc. Just seems like a game certain pc folks could obsess about.

Game itself was fine, but I never had the urge to complete it. Could be that I played Hades just before and as a rogue-like with a narrative, it's just so much more a rewarding experience.

The thing is the Devs won't see any money of it (I'm not judging, just wanna say it) That's the only bad thing about keysellers.
Understandable.

I purchased from both Store Fronts and a couple Key sellers. All my other purchased Sony IPs were purchased on the Steam store. =)

I played it using PS Plus Extra, and I didn't think it would hook me like it did. Absolutely amazing.
I hope lots of people will be able to enjoy it as I did.

Bought it on CDKeys for $42. Would've paid full price if I had to.

I had hoped for a PC version since it was first shown. Tried it on PS5 but I need to play this with a mouse, and all of the extra PC features are a nice bonus.

Really looking forward to playing tomorrow.

I've played it on PS5 as it's included in Premium(maybe Extra, too, but I have Premium). I will definitely buy it for PC on the condition that it works well with Steam Deck. There were leaks last year that it has Deck compability(all Sony games have been Deck Verified so far), but looking at the Steam Store page I'm not seeing anything.

I'm still playing through FFVII Remake, and Atomic Hearts is right around the corner. I don't mind waiting on Returnal for a couple weeks to let me get caught up on some other stuff.

I'm in the same boat as you. I saw it for €38 on cdkeys and would really like to give this a go with mouse and keyboard controls, but with all the shitty PC ports we've seen in the last months especially, I'm not buying ANYTHING on PC day one anymore. I'll wait for the Digital Foundry video first.

What time is it?
Yeah I'll buy it if it hits £10-20. Otherwise, pass.

That would be my advice. I picked it up when it launched and played again in co-op once he picked it up for $29.99. It has a lot of Housemarque's arcade DNA, but I do think some of the rogue elements are lackluster.

Better hope they get a free key.

This is right up there with Horizon in terms of bad timing... they should probably delay the game for two to three months
