Dy, for all that time I spent in your mouth during the podcast, I feel like I should have left cab fare on the nightstand.

I think what we should do for the following episodes is have the guest speakers introduce themselves like in the 1st episode rather than just stating their name. Should make it easier to differentiate voices.

Is this the new all y'all look alike. All y'all sound the same.

Nah I'm kidding.

Good idea.

I think we should try to say each other's names more often too. Like "To expand on what DY is saying..." or "I don't necessarily agree with what Moris said but"

I'll try to use the technique I used during the Django podcast where I went around the table, addressed people by name and they gave a brief thoughts.

I'm about to listen to the first one, so I'm not sure if you do this, but an easy way to do this is to have whoever is directing the discussion call out the name of whoever is speaking next.

"Next topic is X. Y, how about you start us off."

"Z, tell us how you feel about Y's point, and take it from there"

etc.

Looking forward to the crossover. 2 + 2 or 3 + 2 sounds good.

Yeah, we definitely need to do that in the future. We got away from that after the first podcast.

Not nearly enough drug-related references though. Gotta work on that.

Be sure to send in your questions. We'll be recording this Sunday, episode should be up by Tuesday at the latest.

I like how we actually discovered how depressing Kenan & Kel was tonight

:(

Was listening to the Django podcast and I hear yall talk about how he spoke and read etc.

I honestly assumed that
his wife thought him those things because his wife didn't even know how to speak another language and she is the one who thought Django about marriage. So I assumed so spread the knowledge to him

Not really a huge spoiler but just in case no one seen it and anal about spoilers

Eh, I honestly feel like the closest taratino has came to social commentary was the scene with the nazi's watching the movie and cheering. I kind of felt like hewas trying to make a point with that scene eespecially since similar thing was happening in the theater. It was pure irony

YOOO lmao was it Dy who is salty about Vanessa not being in KoF anymore? Sorry still getting used to voices, but it's hilarious you say that because I don't play KoF anymore because Blue Mary isn't in it. Storywise (lol) both characters work together on missions or whatdver so I thought that was funny

Lol sorry for all these posts, just listening to the podcast at work

The random adding of a possessive to proper names is not a black thing as far as I know. I've known plenty of white people who do it. I have no idea why it happens.

I heard Norwalk in one of the episodes; I live right near it.

I'll listen to the newer episodes soon, I hope.

Yes. Vanessa was the truth. Best and only femboxer.

And I'm still mad about Jun being killed off after Tekken 2. I'm still fucking mad about it lol.

Lol, I have this friend who I play every fighting game with and we always argue who is better between Mary and Vanessa. I'm more of a fan of Mary because of her wrestling like moves

Really entertaining podcast, guys. I watched Django today and listened to your podcast. Very interesting perspective on it, and helped me rethink some of the dynamics in the movie.

Can a mod kindly update the thread title to "So Well Spoken" Presented by The Black Culture Thread (Ep.4 now up!)

Thanks.

Here's my question for DY's "Ask a black man" segment.

On average, how do you view non-black athletes competing in basketball and football? As a white guy, my favorite basketball player ever is Gary Payton and I'm on the Kevin Durant bandwagon now. My two favorite football players ever are Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzalez. Do any of you guys love, say Larry Bird or Steve Nash, or know other African Americans who do? Do you view them as among the best ever, or does it get qualified as "good for a white guy"?

Basically, does race play a factor in how you view athletes in two African American dominated sports?

Nah I know. I'm in Raleigh; been here for 3 years. I'm from Columbia SC. Yeah I'm all to familiar with Durham. I work at IBM so I'm close enough to Durham to know what goes down there. What's sad is people from Durham, High Point, Columbia, Rock Hill all rep this gully / ratchet persona like a badge of honor. :/ Least the cats I know anyway. I'm 34 and it pains me to no end to hear / see friends my age blowing up ticket master phone line to get Trinidad James tickets.

Durham is surprisingly nice in some parts. The Dirty D cleans up nice, I'd live there again.

The next podcast topic should be about the term "African American" being used over "black".

Seems like white people are afraid to say "black" nowadays, which is the term I prefer. Of course, I can't speak for anyone else though.
