A large majority is good too. I don't get your point.Kendrick might be an exception, but a large majority produce shit like what I mentioned.
Not rap but the beats.I don't get it. He complains about rap then throws out pit bull references to prove that rap is awesome without cursing.
He's his own worst enemy
Days Before Rodeo be La Flame is killin' it.
Don't know but I don't like songs in the top hip hop playlists on Spotify. Need to go deeper I guess.
Kendrick might be an exception, but a large majority produce shit like what I mentioned. That's why I like indie and pop. Quality is much better.
He had a rap battle with a battle rapper name dizaster. Let's just say he didn't come prepared and decided to recite what he was going to do to dizaster :/

The crown will never come off.
Pretty sure he wanted someone that raps.

Did you even listen to Days Before Rodeo, bruh? He lyrics have improved a lot since Owl Owl Pharaoh.
That's Paul Wall not Pitbull breh.
Oh.
Fuck, I always get those two confused.
I don't like Paul Wall.
That's Paul Wall not Pitbull breh.
It's not about lyrics; the guy can't spit.
I'm gonna make a thread bashing Rock music because not everything sounds like Nirvana.
Oh.
Fuck, I always get those two confused.
I don't like Paul Wall.
Yeah, chart rap is all pretty shit. Look elsewhere.
That said, can't blame someone whose only music experience is popular radio stations thinking that narrow slice of a genre is the majority of said genre.
Kendrick might be an exception, but a large majority produce shit like what I mentioned.
The only thing new I've noticed with new rap is that they're always shouting out to their haters.
I don't have any haters. I'm generally well-liked.
Also they always name drop Instagram.
yeah its a cacophony alright

3005 has been in my head for awhile. Not a connoisseur of rap, but Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino are amazing.
Also, who cares if pop-rap is all about that stuff? I loved, and still love, Ludacris' "What's Your Fantasy" (and the remix), Candy Shop, 50 cent's 2000 stuff "In the Club," whatever. It's mindless, sexually explicit, catchy, high-energy fun stuff. I'm always down for that.
well, rappers don't tend to do well in battle rap in general, and he probably didn't took it seriously enough, underestimated Dizaster and didn't do any research on him and wrote some corny, general lines about him
Sometimes you gotta take of the Nostalgia goggles
Drug use is nothing new for Hip Hop music

Same goes for sex n violence
the notion that these subject matters are new is ridiculous
3005 has been in my head for awhile.
Ultimately, in this current atmosphere, sex and sensationalism sells more than politics or philosophy. Some of these artists have a message but they have to eat too. Case in point is J Cole. He basically opened up his concert with a protest against the violence against blacks in America. But that's not what gets radio play. It's uncomfortable subject matter.
wish we could go back to the '90s when no one was rapping about violence, misogyny, titties, drugs etc
also sittin sideways is easily pitbull's best track
