Pretty soon all of the high profile showcases will be available for viewing by attendees with media credentials.
Good, then maybe E3 will be filled with less idiots who scam their way in.

Yup, no other site comes close to keeping on top of the news like GAF. I didn't even go directly to a site last year, I just hopped on the GAF train and clicked on links.COCKLES said:All I know is I'll be booking a 3 day holiday over E3 for all the coverage. Best time to be on GAF. Hopefully the powers that be will organise another culling to make sure enough bandwidth is on hand.

ManaByte said:Media people do not get get in "a day early" at E3. Sure, most do the MGS thing and sneak onto the floor the days before it upens (thanks to most having Exhibitor badges and set up/tear down buttons), but there is no magical "media day" at E3.
E3 is intended for the industry professionals. That includes artists and programmers. It's a real trade show and is suppose to be more than just a media circus. If anything, the thousands of dorks with their pocket-protectors, little unknown website and "media" badges are the ones who don't really belong there.Lil' Dice said:That would suck for me though, an industry professional who is an artist as opposed to a web journalist.

ManaByte said:Then go to GDC. That's the place for artists/developers/etc. E3 is a trade show for retail buyers and press.
And if you say, "but I need to make contacts for a job", then GDC is still the better place to do that.
E3 is nothing more than a slickly produced place to show off and sell your game. GDC is the place to go if you are looking for work.
Lil' Dice said:I'm not looking for work, i work in teh entertainment industry and am encouraged to attend by my emplyer, you know, to stimuate the crative juices. Plus, being a video game fan the chance to attend for free is a nice perk.
Actually last E3 it was really the DS. Halo 2 was expected, as was MGS3, which is only the natural progression of the series. Going by your logic Metroid Prime 2 would've make an equal example of interest for showgoers.Lil' Dice said:Last year it was Halo 2, MGS3 and......Halo 2. However, so far i haven't heard any rumblings about featured high profile titles or hardware making a debut at E3 this May.
Unless MS or Sony rip the lid off their new console, this could very well be a very dry E3.
