Some incredible reading.

But I'm so glad XV is done. I'm ready to accept it for what it is, but it's amazing to have some insight into the trainwreck it was in development. That the game we got came out of that is a miracle.

I can only hope XVI's development is not so sordid. For Square-Enix's sake.

Really would love to know his original role in Nomura's story since he used to be part of the game's key visual.

The fact that people here are now acting like this "story" for Versus XIII is officially real and are angry (Ha ha ha! For real?!) is so confusing. People will eat anything that confirms their biases.

The "Versus XV" rumor just seems waaaaaay too out there. The financial situation and just needing to get a big game out ASAP being the catalyst for directorial/scope changes is pretty believable, but I don't buy for a second that SE would say "well, okay, now that we're making money, you can go retell XV and do whatever you want."

There being a Versus XV at all is BS enough, but the whole bit about it covering the original VsXIII story premise is the BS cherry on top.

I really liked the Noctis we got (he didn't feel like a anime trope), but I wouldn't have mind seeing what kind of character Nomura's version was going to be.

Everything we've heard about the original Versus plot sounds amazing.

Meh I believe it sounds like some Nomura ass shit. Everybody knowing Stella is dead tho after all that parading her around I don't believe tho lol. Not once did I ever see anybody mention that. Ever!

since he is a little kid, his imagination isn't as robust and coherent. It's much easier to think of everyone as yourself than think of unique autonomous beings.

Sora continues to battle with himself inside of his own mind, which reflects the mental health issues that he faces in the real world.

Cor was such a missed opportunity.

They don't even really explain him. I mean he's a Marshal and he's got the title of Immortal. That's to the extent of what you know about him.

There's nothing about that supposed VSXIII original story that automatically makes it better than XV.

It's simply a different story and we lack nuances of the vsxiii moment to moment to know if it'll be good or bad.

Luna on TV and then we never see him again. Did he just think Noctis was a failure and went into hiding?

Yeah, he seemed like a cold, lonely dude in the older trailers. In the game, he came off as an annoying snarky bro or something. I blame the writers.

I know Versus seemed like 'edgy' at its most possessed form but I really wanted to see what Nomura and the team would've tried with it. As a contrast to XIII it had potential to go into some convoluted, abstract stuff that we'll never get to completely see now. Even if it were to suck, if it was brought to life with its vision intact and uncompromised it would have at least felt complete despite being sucky, instead of being sucky because it was incomplete.

Regarding Stella and the ambiguity of her being alive, considering the connection beteeen death, dreams, and fantasy the game's early trailers/details implied, I mean, it's possible; some of the earlier trailers hint at such a fate.

"The true figure still lies asleep in the fantasy."

Having the ability to see 'the light of expiring souls'.

Both of them having a near-death experience.

But, well, it's just all so deliberately vague and cryptic, lol. Nevertheless, it is interesting to consider.

Well, according to most people here, the first thread having a lot of truth to it automatically means the other 2 are real also, and that we must be angry for this officially confirmed Nomura Vision about Sixth Sense Stella.

That rumour could very well be fanfiction but it sounds so out there that I can totally believe that was the original vision for the game.

And I am not really mad that Nomura could not realize his vision but mad at S-E that rushed Tabata to push FFXV out of the door to the point that the 2nd half is so half-baked that they are announcing patches to make more sense of the story and fix a level that has not right to be as bad as it is.

EDIT: Right now I am at the "wait and see" stage to see if those patches to "fix" the story align with these leaks/fanfiction/novella/etc...

It would have had better cutscenes and more than 2 and a half CGI cutscenes though.

Reading more of the things posted in this thread is making me excited about a game that will more than likely not happen. Getting the original Versus vision in a game would be nice but we just have to move on unfortunately.

Its mostly this, it sucks that SE rushed it even after they brought Tabata in.

Crazy how a lot of that leak ended up being true apparently. I'm just so overjoyed that the game has finally been released. Aside from some updates and dlc Square can finally move to new things and they don't have to keep so hush hush about FF7R.

The game ended in another dimension which was supposed to be their version of the after-life.

Totally forgot about that leaked story thread. Finally going through it and seeing how everything was pretty much right is disheartening. The stuff the guy said about the Versus plot sounds better than what we got :(. It's crazy how much stuff got cut from the game according to those posts. Tabata and the team pulled off a miracle. The game probably would have got destroyed by critics if it had released September 30th.

I dunno, is he? Maybe it's just me liking XV Noctis a lot, but he actually seems pretty similar to me. A little quirkier I guess? We didn't really get to see him in Versus in a setting that would lend itself to that kind of thing tho

Let it go bro. You know how this versus vs 15 is going to go. It's a concept and a concept will always sound better than an executed product period. It could've been worse it could've been better. Let ppl be reminiscent of versus just as they should let others enjoy 15
