You guys....
Time to leave sticky note messages on your windows telling us to go away
You guys....
holy shit, that website is ridiculous
Hey there.....look outside your front office lobby windows *waves hi*You guys....
I'm certainly excited for Retro Studios to announce their current project, be it new IP or tried and true series.
What I don't understand is the purpose of their website. What does a developer stand to gain from a consumer facing site? Is it for:
- Career Postings? although those are through NOA's corp site
- New game announcements? those would be through NOA comms/directs or Nintendo PRs
- Web services related to current/upcoming games? those would probably be built in dedicated sites for specific titles (a la Super Mario Maker bookmark page)
- Community Management? surely these would be better served via social media or Miiverse
Outside of finding a more cost effective site hosting strategy, what could possibly be Retro's motivation to update this website?
You guys....
Maybe Retro's going independent.
You guys....
"you guys" backwards... is Geist U! Wrap it up, folks.
You guys....
Haha I know, max. <3B...but...we're your friends...we joke with you!
I just hate how it goes with every Nintendo studio: "Here's a game. It's releasing within the next year. Then you won't hear from us again until our next game is less than a year out from release, which will be like three or four years from now."
And I'm not even asking for a Sakurai-esque daily update website where nearly everything about the game is revealed before it comes out. Just a monthly or at least bimonthly, "Hey, we're still alive and working on the game!" update or something.
I'm not getting hyped this time. My wife stills makes fun of me because of what happened last time.

I would be completely okay with this.Next Xenoblade by Retro.
Monolithsoft to continue fan anticipated Disaster series.
Could be a possibility, but since they are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo, someone would have to buy Nintendo's stake of the business . . . and I don't see that as very likely.
Nintendo will swap retro for rare só that MS will then launch a game and then say:" from the real makers of metroid prime ", slogan thing....Could be a possibility, but since they are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo, someone would have to buy Nintendo's stake of the business . . . and I don't see that as very likely.
"you guys" is 7 letters
"metroid" is 7 letters
Nah. More like maybe because their website is something you would have seen in the 90s.Maybe Retro's going independent.
Yes, I think we can safely establish that this is merely the product of human error, and not something to become too excited over. Nevertheless, at least we know they are doing something with their site.Pretty much all of those are GUI elements from a Dell WAF device or firewall. (They bought out the SonicWall company a few years ago, who are a relatively well known UTM manufacturer.) Sorry guys, but this is a giant stack of nothing with a couple screwups from Retro's dev and/or security team.
Kinda humorous seeing people scraping their site inadvertently calling them out on it though.
And just in time for kiddys grand return after all these years! /sSo it's almost time for the new Donkey Kong Country to be announced?
I mean... No, not really. Uploading the files for their security system's GUI into the wrong directory on their server and/or applying incorrect privileges to those files does not mean they are doing anything at all with their website.Rösti;192695627 said:Nevertheless, at least we know they are doing something with their site.
