Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed |OT| Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

Hard to tell from video compression but the WiiU version runs at a full 720p? looks like it does.

Also on that outrun track the bouncing boye float is still there in full force lol, you can see it going really high every few seconds into the sky.

Yeah, what's up with that?

Also, I've only played the stage once, so I don't know it happens all the time, but on the classic Jet Set Radio level from the first All-Stars Racing, the second carriage on the train in the background was missing. So there was the front carriage, a gap, and then two more carriages. It looked quite silly.

I love how you can do quick tricks off a lot of little bumps, there are a few bits where you would think it's impossible but all of a sudden squeeze in 2 barrel rolls and it completely changes the race.

the night race on the billy hatcher track is absolutely fucking horrible, my god

Max steering and some accel will cream it easy, only bad part is the final S bend after the water section once you get used to it.

Some fanart from the sega forum thread:

This is the stuff where dreams come from. Its genius really, becuase you dont only have the embodiment of a console, but you win also a nod two one important character of sega history while adding water vehicle ecco. Also the rocket of the last ad for the flying version is AMAZING.

Glad to see Segata is winning this (Mika doesn't count, as apparently people are making multiple accounts to vote for her, which will only hurt her chances).

Ryo is my second choice, but come on people; it's fucking Segata Sanshiro.

The thing is, being Segata who he is, why he is not in the game as one of the first ideas of characters, still baffles me.

I'll give it a go, thanks. That S bend at the end is killing me!! The rage of being 1st up until that part on the last lap.. FUCK

Ugh you know what, I think I'm done with this. I'm fed up with flips during jumps not registering, falling through the floor, getting cheaply hit with weapons, the list goes on. Until they patch this shit I'm out, it's just not fun to play. Such a shame after the first game, I'm gutted

Sorry to ask again, but am I missing something with the boost challenge? I'm using metal sonic in boost mode, on Easy, and I can't make it past the first checkpoint.

Am I supposed to just keep drifting to get boost? What about on the straightaways? I'm so confused lol. I'm on the Wii U if there is some control difference.

Hitting a boost pad or boosting from a drift stops the clock. Just keep boosting. You shouldn't need to drift on straights as there are normally boost pads everywhere.

So apparently the option for your Wii U to turn off after downloads are done just has it turn off before they're done. I am still downloading this game...

I'm on the very first casino boost challenge, and there are some segments (including long straightaways) that have zero boost pads for 5-10 seconds. Would someone be kind enough to direct me to a video of this (if anyone has uploaded one yet).

I either suck horribly, or there is an issue with my copy.

The pads can be quite hard to see on that level, but they appear every couple of seconds for the most part. During the first checkpoint, you can hit all of the boost pads without having the time really go down at all. The next checkpoint gets trickier, as the pads are beside casino chips and can be difficult to hit. The last sectors require you to drift and boost into the pads.

It would be weird if your copy were truly bugged, lol

I've fallen off a track before but i've gotta say, falling UP the track is an entirely new one, on the JDR track I sprang off the small red jump with no boost pads, made it over the small gap but hit the wall on the right causing my vehicle to suddenly lose all sense of gravity and take off into the sky, yeah.

One point about Adder's Lair also, the jump through the adder mouth on the left side of the fork split is botch central, if you make the jump over too fast from hitting the many boosts along the way you often just crumble against the roof of the adder's mouth and land in an unfortunate angle, i've had this happen like three times now and saw the same thing happen to someone I was behind in an online race, I dare not trick that jump anymore!

So I finally went online, now I remember why I don't like online systems, they take FOREVER and I have to listen to the sounds of some frenchman's infant spewing goo goo ga ga all over the place, where the hell is the mute option on this console?!
The game itself plays fine online, had a combination of close races and one where I got to sit in front feeling bad for being 25 seconds ahead on Sky Sanctuary.

don't boost off the waterfall, brake and just take it easy it get's easier as you try it more.

dude seriously, it doesnt. I've breezed through this game on triple star difficulty, the 2nd billy hatcher track is shit. The power ups never give you boosts, the S bend you mentioned can't have been tested to still be included within the game, I've tried being characters with full handling and acceleration and its even more difficult than when I'm sonic. Its the boat part where I lose it because its just so poorly done. I get caught up in the roof, caught on ice at the sides, fall through the floor, bounce up in the air without moving forwards, swarms of 'sky tigers' which only seem to fuck me up while the CPU drives through them, i could honestly go on and on and on. Sumo, what the fuck

To be fair, the character of Kiryu is associated with the Yakuza, which is probably a good enough reason to keep him out of family-friendly games.

Liking the game on PS3 so far. That last lap of the SoA level <3

^Vyse is a Pirate, and we got House of the Dead represented in this series, family friendly can suck it.

I voted for Kiryu, Segata and Ryo, aka SEGA's manly trinity.

I wonder when Newegg is going to ship my WiiU copy. I got a confirmation and charge email but nothing with a shipping tracking number :[

amazon playing with my feelings :(

i mean i know they dont ship stuff on sundays, but there was an email with the game in the title, got all excited over nothing, was just listing games to buy. LOL

Well, I'm gonna try and upload a video to YouTube, because my copy really is glitched. I just found a vid on YouTube of the 360 version, and lo and behold, the majority of the boost pads are missing in mine (with some straightaways having none!!!).

Also, I just thought the checkpoints were seriously far apart. It turns out I've been able to struggle past two of the checkpoints, but I wouldn't know because the game says I've passed 0 checkpoints. Any other Wii U players having issues? I'm pretty pissed. I can't proceed until I beat this (I think).

I'm still waiting for my full version to arrive from Amazon. I did notice a couple of oddities in the boost challenge from the demo though. Sometimes I found boosts (located in the air when flying as a plane) didn't register. It happened a noticeable amount. It wouldn't give me the boost nor did the control pad shake. The timer did extend though, which was good.

Yeah that drift mission was a nightmare. Luckily I retried so many times that I ended up learning how to drift correctly anyway.

The Billy Hatcher stage is genuinely terrible. For the boat sections though, remember to drift boost through every corner, the actual boost will keep you stable on the waves. There's basically no point in that section where you should be at maximum speed. slow down just a little and the waves are going to wreck your shit. Don't use AllStar until you're in a straight away or you'll get stuck on the jagged edges, and as stated before, don't boost off the waterfall, just drive straight past the first turn, then drift through around the large jut of the last turn. It's slow, but you'll make it with a lvl 1 drift boost.

Another vote for Ryo!

Riding a dragon in air form.
Riding one of those cool Chinese boats from the start of Shenmue 2 in boat form.
Motorbike with Forklift super in car mode.

Also, that vote website is friggin evil - the way it tries to make you sign some other petition at the end by sneaking a giant 'Sign' button in-front of you and hiding the skip as a greyed out icon in the top right, undermines the cause somewhat no?

I've tried the recently released NfS and Forza demo's, but for some reason I enjoy this game a lot more. I didn't expect that to happen. I guess it's mostly the Sega nostalgia that had me attracted, but so far I find the gameplay is solid and goes way beyond basic kart racing. I read some dude from Blur worked on this and I was hooked on that game. What do you all think of the online mode? I played a couple of races and I think it's pretty solid.

I thought they didn't release a demo for the ps3. Is it on the US store?

Can't comment about the US store. But it's on the UK store for sure.

Tried the demo and thought it was great. Definitely want to get the full game some time.

Sometimes you get no visual or sound for boost pads but they still launch you, weird bug I noticed when doing lots of time trials.
