There needs to be a thread for the best flip-outs caught on GIF. The one from Banshee is up there at the top.

He'll die or be fully corrupted by the company he keeps.

And since he recognizes that, I think he knows that he can't associate himself with the Sons if a street war happens. From a survivability standpoint, he needs to distance himself from the Sons.

That would be the sensible thing to do, but he's in too deep on that Gemma ish...

I think he's been recognizing how toxic she and her company are, seeing how everything's been unraveling and finding out she planned her first husband's death. Not to say he wants to stop seeing her yet, but at this point all things considered he'll trade being with Gemma for not getting killed by the many people who are going to be after the Sons.

Although a sad departure is probably on the cards before the series ends, I hope they keep Nero around as long as they can. Smits has been great, and he's one of the reasons I tune in every week even after becoming somewhat jaded on the show.

I'm sure he's wondering how he might extricate himself from this, but he has limited options without starting his life over. Right now, even in leaving the Sons he's being pulled back to his old crew's turf war. Plus, given everything he now knows, if he's outside the fold he may be a liability for Jax. The DA can always go after him for something else and press him to give up the Sons.

At this point, I expect he'll be around until close to the end. He may even survive, as a living legacy of the corruption the Sons spread to everything they touch.

I think this season ends with Jax losing the president's patch.

I'm borrowing this from r/sonsofanarchy, but I've also had lingering thoughts about how Jax no longer has that leverage over Juice and Tig. According to Marks, Tig is in the clear. Juice couldn't care less if the club found out he killed Miles.

Jax has been been more manipulative than Clay was, and it's probably going to bite him in the ass.

Finally all caught up. I've had all the episodes on my computer for years now, decided to finally start watching the show after Kurt Sutter (Otto and creator) was on The Howard Stern Show last month with his wife Katey Sagal (Gemma). Watched all the episodes over a span of about 3 weeks now just in time for season 6 finale.

Can't believe I waited so long. Wish I watched from the beginning as I have to decompress a little being that I consumed it all quickly, my loved and hatred of characters have run the gamut. I've gone from loving Jax to hating him over the past few season. Where as my love for Clay has grown (RIP). I've always hated Tara and her conflicted ways. Tig and Chibbs are my favorites. First 2 seasons still the strongest. Hope we haven't seen the last of Zobelle. My favorite resolution to a season so far is the season 3 Chibbs-O'Phalen, Opie-Stahl, reduced sentences though I wasn't a huge fan of most of the season, mainly the Ireland trip. The latest one with Galen was satisfying as well because Galen was such a bad ass but seeing Clay and Ron Perlman exit was sad but necessary.

Michael aka Damon Pope wasn't as satisfying because the way it played out was ridiculous with Jax going all Jack Bauer and counting on too many variables to allow Tig to be rescued, but alas was good to see Tig get revenge. I dunno I guess I just didn't like Harold Perrineau for the role, he'll always be annoying Michael to me. I don't know where they are going with the finale but I can't wait, but I would say Season 6 has been the weakest for me despite its great moments of the MC clubhouse being blown up and Clay and Otto's deaths, and he excellent Donal Logue as fucked up Toric.

For me so far I rank the seasons. 2,1,4,3,5,6.

Interesting theory, who would replace Jax if that were to happen though?

Bobby? Chibs?

^ Not sure who might replace him. Maybe Chuckie? :p

I've been trying to think about all the story threads that could/should come together in the finale:

- Tara taking the kids, Jax looking for them
- Tara's trial (not sure how close it is)
- Nero finding out about Jax ordering Juice to kill the shooter's mother
- Nero knowing about Gemma's role in JT's murder
- Barosky witnessing Jax murder Venus' mother, having that leverage
- Patterson finalizing the deal with Jax OR
- Patterson taking Tara's testimony
- Roosevelt's role in the above two
- Irish kings agreeing to do business with August
- Brewing race war, Alvarez upset with Jax's actions
- Finding out about whatever Tig and August discussed earlier in the season
- Juice being a giant mess
- Wendy going to rehab

Season finale tonight:
A Mother's Work

Jax's choices put his club and family in jeopardy.
It's scheduled for a 2-hr time slot. The episode ends about 10 minutes early and then they're switching over to the live interview show until the top of the hour before the repeat.

Maggie Siff drops a truth bomb.

“I think it’s a really interesting conversation. I think these shows are always set up so we follow a protagonist and the story is very intricately built around caring for them in some way. And so anybody who runs counter to that is going to run into the problem of people turning on them. But I also think there are pretty deep gender cultural issues that have to do with a certain kind of fantasy of male and female roles, and a certain kind of fantasy around this anti-hero — the man who does terrible, terrible things but who we root for anyway because it’s an enactment of an adolescent male fantasy that people take great pleasure in seeing played out. And people who run counter encounter a lot of hostility. I think it’s the hostility that’s the most disturbing thing — the amount of vehemence or anger or righteousness that people can feel when they say, “She should be shot. She should be killed.’” That’s the thing that’s most startling and disturbing, when you really sit down and think about it.”

Very similar reactions to anyone who crossed Walter White. Fans of these anti-hero shows are really creepy* sometimes.

* - please don't shoot me.

You know, you should tread lightly squidhands.

But seriously, I couldn't agree more. It got to the point where I just stayed out of Breaking Bad comment sections for awhile because they were diminishing my enjoyment of the show.

People hate Tara? Seriously? I see her as the "Good guy" in the story, just trying to escape an abusive, controlling family.

The MC is the villain in the story for me. I'm at that point. I want them to all go down, but I know it won't happen because then there won't be a show.

With just one more season I think it's quite possible the MC goes down.

I still want to see the hammer come down on them for their role in the school shooting.

I kind of think (speculation on the above spoilers)
Jax is going to let Tara go with the boys. She'll explain what she's trying to get them away from and tell Jax about Gemma's role in JT's death and he'll let her go.

I think it's possible, but still a longshot.

Theo Rossi discusses the finale and what to expect.

I also missed this Sutter tweet as a follow up to his earlier one I posted.

When I said the S6 finale will make you smile, I may have been lying. When I said it's satisfying, I may have been telling the truth.

It seems like most signs point to
Juice finally getting his death wish. I can't see what other role he can serve in the story now. He atoned for killing Miles by helping Jax send Clay to prison, but now he's a total wreck and liability. Plus, Jax isn't going to be all too happy that Juice spilled the beans to Nero.

How many more seasons of this show are there?

Probably just one, but that hasn't been definitively stated.

Sutter has also talked about maybe someday doing a prequel miniseries/series about the start of the club. I feel like that'd be entirely redundant however.

I'm curious how they handle SoA next season if it's going to be the last one. Sutter has stated for a while that it's the plan to go seven seasons, but I could see them adding extra episodes, extending their length even more, etc... The ratings are there, so I get the feeling he can ask for just about whatever he wants from the network.

The problem is that the show still acts like a fanboy towwards the MC, tonally, and its undermined everything they've tried to do with Tara this season.
