Sons of Anarchy is back for a final lap with Season 7 starting Tuesday, September 9th at 10pm on FX. Though it's not one of the more heavily discussed television shows on GAF, in recent years more and more people have been posting about SoA. The show puts up great viewership numbers on FX, and the acting talent is consistently praised by critics. While there have been a number of misteps over the years, the show remains entertaining for many and everyone loves a montage. Created by Kurt Sutter (The Shield), Sons of Anarchy has been compared to The Shield and The Sopranos, as well as being described as "Hamlet on a Harley." With high caliber acting, dark humor, sex, violence, and profanity, this is tv for adults.

FX said:
Sons of Anarchy is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club’s (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, charming. The MC must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers. Behind the MC’s familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegal arms business driven by the seduction of money, power, and blood.

In season six, Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller (Charlie Hunnam) has finally solidified his leadership of Sons of Anarchy by murdering Clay Morrow, his stepfather, for past sins. Season Six ends with his formidable mother, Gemma, committing an unpardonable sin. Unbeknownst to Jax, she brutally murders his wife, Dr. Tara Knowles, thinking she’s protecting the club. Juice Ortiz kills Sheriff Eli Roosevelt to protect Gemma. Season Seven begins ten days later with Jax in jail on a parole violation, grappling with the loss of the woman he loved. With the club’s full support, he sets in motion the brutal machinations that will lead to complete and merciless retribution.

Casting news for the final season:

This show is my guilty pleasure. I really enjoy it but I'm glad it's ending now, before we get to the point where there's a complete 1hr36min episode that is comprised entirely of montages sung by Katey Sagal.

This is my nightmare. She's a fucking awful singer on top of it. Nepotism sucks.

Say what you want about Charlie Hunnam but his acting in the finale when he found Tara was fantastic.

Any word on when the newer seasons would go up on Netflix.
My girlfriend got super into it, but my interest fell way the fuck off after a couple seasons in when what's his face (the dude from Dexter) showed up.
I might try again just to fuck around with it again, I have amazon prime and I think a bunch more seasons were up on that versus Netflix.

Wonder how they'll end it.

Can't be worse than Dexter, right?
RIGHT?!

Mom murders his wife and there are witnesses. For some god damn reason he's in jail and then he's later shown holding his mother's hand in a car.

This show makes Dexter look like The Sopranos

Part of the reason my interest fell off was all the wild shit they pulled had too many convenient cover up twists to believe after shit hit the fan. I don't know if I'd call it Dexter tier bad in terms of wrapping it up, but then again the last two or so seasons I haven't seen. Has the quality dropped off that bad somehow?

If that's why your interest fell off don't even bother getting back into it.

They fall back on the asspulls even more than they did earlier. There's always something that conveniently happens/gets revealed.

Show is terrible.

Final episode spoilers:

20 minute montage showing Bobby looking thoughtfully into the distance, Tig doing something weird with a hooker, Juice crying.

Jax finds out what Gemma did and goes to confront her

Gemma looks shocked at Jax's accusation but says to him,"It's ok! I'm with the feds!". Danny Trejo comes into frame and gives her a high five.

Yakkety Sax plays over the credits.

One of my only problems with this show is how they do away with really great characters.

Opie made sense I guess but Damon Pope and Toric were fucking great characters that should've been around longer. Also I wish we would've saw more of Henry Rollins back in season 2

Holy shit!

I want this to happen. I need this to happen.

I loved seasons 1-4. Season 5 was ok. Season 6 was awful. I hope this season will be good, but i'm not holding my breath.
And 1 hour and 45 minutes holy shit.

Marilyn Manson AND Lea Michele are gonna be in the final season?

Best season confirmed.

Can't wait to see how everything unfolds and all of the mind fuckery Sutter has planned for us.

With a post credits sequence featuring Otto's corpse being raped.

How many 90 minute episodes will they have this season?

Over/under? 4.5

We should probably be asking how many episodes will actually be 60 minutes long instead. They seem more rare than the 90 minute ones at this point.

It's a shame that this show gets such good ratings, since if it didn't perhaps FX wouldn't have allowed Sutter to make the bloated messes that made up much of last season.

- EW review:
Sons of Anarchy could be the antihero drama to end all antihero dramas, but it'll have to shift into some new gears to go out in the blaze of ingloriousness it deserves. Grade: B-
- Slant magazine review
If the first few episodes of Sons of Anarchy's final season are any indication, then the series is going down in the same manner it started: as a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions, with the eponymous motorcycle club's royal family and their dysfunctional dynamics at the heart of what ails its crown prince. 3 out of 4 stars.

Subbing.

I really enjoyed last season for the most part, but I think the last few minutes of the finale were very disappointing so I'm looking forward to getting it over with.

Last season was beyond belief terrible, but I'm still gonna watch even if it means I didn't learn shit by suffering through the last season of Dexter.

1hr45? Awesome. Although I have mixed feelings about this show, it's always
not always
a fun watch, so the more the better!

Sutter, please be good to Chibs.
