MY FRIENDS. What you just witnessed was a 10 minute music montage. The show has topped itself. Literally nothing happened in it. Gemma told a lie. Jax killed someone. 10 minutes.

Yeah I should have waited for the montage.

One cannot simply look at one episode and compare it to the level of shit that was season 8 of Dexter. We can look back at the entirity of that final season of Dexter and marvel at it's awfulness, but this is just the first episode of the season.

man that ep flew by even though not much really happened.

Chibs flexing on the street thugs was great and I always love a good torture scene but that ending had me uneasy.

Was that wheelchair scene the most pathetic scene in the show so far? I felt embarrassed watching it, not only for its failed attempt at comedy, but the cheap ass way it was shot.

Gemma is deserving of a brutal death and an unmarked grave.

It was an OK episode for me. A little too long and a little too uneventful, but by no means terrible. Certainly not Dexter season 8 terrible, that's just plain hyperbole.

LOL at Gemma talking to herself

why would jax think some Chinese dude killed Tara ?

Everyone on this show is so dumb
Because he got Lin's uncle killed. Why is Juice on the run again?

Sutter is one sick dude; nothing is off limits. Daisy Marie and Misty Stone(she was the one in the bi-sexual three way) make an appearance.

I was angry before the previously-on was even over. Fucking busy-body Unser making assumptions and talking to Gemma, leading to Tara's murder.

At this point, any time Gemma talks in her faux-whisper I get angry. Which is, you know, every single time she talks. How anyone in this universe believes a word that comes out of her mouth is incomprehensible.

There's nothing tragic about this story anymore. It's just layers and layers of willful stupidity and ignorance.

Why is Juice on the run again?

Because he leaked to Smits that Jax ordered him to kill that girl, and Jax found out.

I'm still enjoying the show, and it definitely isn't even close to Dexter Season 8 bad...no need for hyperbole like that.

That said, I really don't understand why the writers are making these characters dumber than they are...or at least should be. Gemma has lied and manipulated so many times and people still just take her word without question...it just boggles my mind how anyone thought that was ok. It makes all of the characters look stupid. It also makes the writers look stupid because they can't think of a plot not born from a lie or misunderstanding.

There's no reason for Jax to believe anything that comes out of Gemma's mouth. How many years did she lie to him about his father's murder? And now we're supposed to believe that he believes anything she has to say? That entire episode I thought for sure Jax thought Gemma was suspect, but I guess not.
Which doesnt make sense. The dude is Machiavellian enough to set up the double and triple crosses between the gangs at the end of last season, but now he's stupid enough to take the word of his notoriously dishonest and conniving mother?
Rubbish.

It pissed me off that Jax doesn't question everything Gemma says to him. Not long ago he disowned her for driving stoned with his kids. The one redeemable quality he has is his intelligence and they made him look like implusive ass Tig.

We're inching ever closer to the 30 minute music montage in the finale.

I'm actually excited for it. What's wrong with me...

Yeah, that was a terrible season opener. Not much to else to say apart from the episode didn't need to be anywhere near as long as it was...

Also, whatever happened to Unser's cancer? I can't seem to remember if he was in remission or if that magical weed he was on cured him.

Right, but out of the blue? We saw Gemma talk to the guy, nod at Jax and then tell the guy from the other club to kidnap his ass.

Did I miss something where Gemma said "OH SHIT I THINK THIS IS THE GUY THAT KILLED TERA!!!!!111"?

I don't believe there was anything said prior to that sequence, where she gives her tale to the guy from the other club. That's when we learn that at some point Gemma concocted this story, told Jax about it, and now he's doing something that he's out.

I think he realised something was up when he stabbed him with the fork at the end. Someone as big as that guy should have been able to have done a lot more damage...

There were clear signs of a struggle, that guy was a beast, hard to imagine someone like Tara giving him much trouble. And the fork impact will surely have been much deeper compared to that from someone weaker ike Gemma.

I'm probably over-thinking it though.

It's plausible. It's not like we haven't seen Jax set people up in this manner before but then you see the previews for the next episode/season and it looks like he's going to war with Lin.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking during that entire scene.

Oh. He is? I didn't watch the preview, but that's very disappointing to hear. Ah well, hopefully we get the confrontation at some point, would be terrible for the show to end without Jax having it out with Gemma once and for all...

Imagine how much better this show would be if they killed Gemma in one of the earlier seasons. This stone cold killer is the biggest mama's boy sometimes and it's mind boggling.
