Stop holding onto hope for Crash.

PLeaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

Why don't you just bugger off and let people hope. Its amusing that the "impossible 3" was made possible last e3, I don't see why not with Crash. It has a chance.

I can live without a new Crash game, I'm sure every fan as well. But I'm pretty sure most if not all of them (including me)just want to see is just some more well made 3D platformers. Or light hearted gameplay driven games for that matter.

For those who are looking forward to Sucker Punch's new game, it's more than likely it will not be at E3. According to Scott Rhode at PSX , Sucker Punch was in the early process of testing various prototypes, so they are way behind Sony Bend. I'd expect SP's next game to be at PSX at the earliest.

This is my list of what I think will realistically show up.

-Dead Don't Ride by Bend Studio (they'll most likely open the show with this)
-Horizon: Zero Dawn by Guerilla Games (new gameplay, new mechanics, 2017 release date)
-Dreams by Media Molecule (beta announcement)
-Gran Turismo Sport by Polyphony Digital (demos on show floor, not sure what they could do for the conference though as we pretty much know everything now)
-Gravity Rush 2 by Japan Studio (new gameplay, vague 2016/2017 release window)
-The Last Guardian by genDesign & Japan Studio (final release date)
-Detroit: Become Human by Quantic Dream (scene from the game)
-Matterfall by Housemarque (first gameplay footage)
-Ni no Kuni II by Level 5 (first gameplay footage)
-WiLD by Wild Sheep Studio (new footage)
-Persona 5 by Atlus (US release date)
-God of War IV by Santa Monica Studio (this will most likely close the show)

These are all the big games I could think of. I'm sure there will be indies & other surprises sprinkled throughout, but even without those, I think this lineup is pretty solid.

Honestly, if this turned out to be Sony's e3 this year, it would be better than the last one for me. Year of dreams was great for the shocking announcements but I need more tangible announcements with gameplay shown (like the Horizon unveil) - basically games that I know I can get my hands on by end of 2017 at the latest.
More importantly all of the games on your list has so much potential and makes for a diverse showcase for ps4 exclusives.

opps. I completely brain farted. I really meant to say STill holding onto hope for Crash. No idea what I typed Stop lol Sorry brethren, I really want a new Crash game as well.

idk, last e3 was so good, that I have no expectations about this one

I rewatched it a few days ago and, yes, it was a really exciting and well made presentation. The middle part let it down though and I would have liked a few more proper ps4 exclusives
shown.
This e3 Sony can easily eclipse the last one (for me anyway) if they go all out and decide to show a tonne of the exclusives that we know they are working on and one or two surprises that we know nothing about.

Wont that just deflate your hype since there is no way this year can live up to it?
It doesn't have to live up to it just expand on it as in show more footage of what they announced like ff7r horizon TLG and game play of shemune 3 and I would be happy I don't expect anything other than that and if there are some surprises then that's just gravy

They don't have any first party studio ready for a reveal other than SSM and Bend. I'm hoping they're ready for a reveal. SP won't be there, I presume. Seems early for their game. But if it really is Spiderman, then they should be gearing up for it to match the release date of the film next year, but I'm guessing they'll wait and not chime in so quick.

Other than the obvious (HL3) and maybe Crash, what would Sony need to show off in order for this to be even remotely close to a "Year of Dreams 2.0?" I don't even know what could conceivably even come close to the Holy Trifecta that they showed last year.

Isn't it already the year of dreams? I mean, Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV, and the Last Guardian are all technically coming out this year. There's even a new Dragon Quest coming out in Japan this year (supposedly).

Sucker Punch and PixelOpus certainly have a window to have their work showcased. PixelOpus released their game two years ago, and probably will be another budget light quirky game. Sucker Punch also released First Light two years ago, and is rumored to be using the engine on another action game. Both very viable happenings.

Both more ostensible than Guerilla Games showing Horizon last E3.

Mainly, I think SIE could have 1-2 big first-party games that come from their outer studios.

That's why I made it the way I did. Everything on my list feels tangible (especially now that publications are finally getting a chance to see the Last Guardian). Even if the only big reveals were Dead Don't Ride & God of War, there's no way people won't be excited to see what else Horizon has in store, or be hyped for some English gameplay of Persona 5.

Also, this is how I keep myself from getting too hyped & potentially set myself up for disappointment. Would it be awesome to see Onimusha or Crash or even finally see what Agent would be like? Absolutely. But the list I made makes a very good E3 on its own. Especially if Dead Don't Ride turns out to be this year's Horizon.

I could not agree more. Going through the list of potential announcements, Sony has so much content to share with the gaming community that neither Microsoft, nor Nintendo could objectively measure up. The only question is "how". The pacing of their conferences is their soft underbelly, and it usually hurts a showing that would be deemed excellent, otherwise.

GOW4 has to be a given to be there at this point. It's been in development for quite a while and is more than likely releasing March 2017
Nah. Sony's Q1 2017 title is going to be Horizon. GOW is most likely the big Fall 2017 title.
.. only to be pushed to March 2018.

I'm hoping for the following but not holding my breath:

  • New Crash Game
  • EA Access
  • New "Pro" Controller like Scuf/XB1 Elite

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the only thing that would make me get out of my seat and cheer would be an Ace Combat 5 remake/PS2 trilogy HD port or
Silent Hills lives on
. With that said, I hope to see more gameplay of Ace Combat 7 along with Persona 5 and Final Fantasy VIIR.

Some games I would like to see revealed would include Kojima's new project and possibly whatever Naughty Dog's up to next. Also, Capcom?
DMC5 and RE7 truly returning to the series' roots?

Isn't it bit weird though? When is the last time Sony announced/showed a big game less than a year from release excluding hardware launch software?

A sign of things come? I know a lot are fed up of games being announced way too early.

March is its normal slot though. I suppose they could be changing that up though but it would be the first main line GOW to miss March

Well probably not really a sign of anything future-wise but they do it once in a while and it's probably more that they usually aim GOW's for March so I could see it for this case. Also, it feels like they've been holding off for a while on actually revealing this one given how early Barlog teased it.

That would be my personal " holy trinity "

New/Reboots of Syphon Filter + Crash + Legend of Dragoon would be an amazing three.

I got to wonder if Sony is planning to announce a more serious PS1 on PS4 programn here.[/url]

While I think a PSP Classics and PSOne Classics would be great on the PS4, I think the PS2 Classics are the more worthwhile effort. It seems most (if not all) the SIE and Rockstar Games PS2 emulation ports have been done internally at SONY's San Mateo and San Diego technology groups.

Soo basically there isn't enough man power to do it. The few resources are probably better off getting that PS2 line up there rather than worse looking PSONE/PSP games.

Yeah. They have plenty of great PS2 stuff still left that could use the cool emu enhancement treatment before they move to PS1/PSP games.

Edit: Unless ofcourse they run out of stuff they are able to work on, in which case I wouldn't mind them looking at Sony PS1/PSP stuff so that they don't waste time not working on anything while waiting for some other first/third party games to be available since third parties seem to be slow to get on board.

I don't care about many new announcements this year funnily enough, just want the announced games to release or have new info on them. In terms of reveals it's GOW 4 I want to see more than anything, it's time now.

-horizon release fate
-TLG release date
-gravity rush 2 release date

= me happy, I think Sony have shown their hand and I like what's there, now just time for me to start playing them for myself.
