Sony E3 press conference; June 10th 6PM PT/9PM ET

I kinda wish I lived in an area where the Sony presser came on in the early hours of the morning but alas I will be able to watch it and be sound asleep before midnight (provided I'm not too hype to close my eyes)

I have a huge job interview tomorrow. Luckily it's 15 hours before this conference.....if by some miracle I get the position I hope they don't want me to start the next day :/

Sony E3 or Employment!?

They are not going to make you start tomorrow. If they ask you to tho, don't say no, bad first impression. Might be hard trying not to get distracted by mobile GAF during the interview.
Tomorrow is a day of leaks.

Gonna be at work during all the conferences before the Sony one, so I won't be able to watch them live. I'll still follow the updates though as they happen.

From May 28th (one week after the Xbone unveil) to now, this thread has gained 271 pages of posts. In the same timeframe, the Microsoft E3 thread managed a measly 99: It's very clear whose presentation is much more anticipated.
How is the Nintendo thread doing?

My plan is this:

- Finish work at 3pm. Go home.
- do family baby girlfriend dinner bath tv stuff. You know.
- get a bit of early sleep, set alarm for midnight
- HYPE TIME. Conference yay
- sleep like a motherfucker

then later that day, Nintendo Direct and then back to work at 18:30. That's my e3.

Don't give a flying fuck about the xbone.

Sony E3 or Employment!?

If they ask you when you can start, just say anytime.

They generally won't make you start until the next week or the week after because they want to start you at the beginning of payweek so payroll doesn't get all out of whack. At least from my experience.

Conference is 3AM CEST. I'm doubting if I should stay up and be a wreck on tuesday, or set my alarm, watch the conference and then go back to sleep, and still be a wreck on tuesday.

Not watching live is not an option, obviously.

So looking back and not as obvious now because of the continued deluge of posts but we've lost quite a few members in the last week. Let us recount some of the fallen PS fans:

I don't pay much attention to thread stats, but 18,000+ posts, 1.5' million'ish views? Good grief. There a bigger gaf thread?

Don't fuck this up, Sony. Even if you had planned to be the same as MS, you'd be idiots not to eat whatever the cost would be to change plans after all of this.

Ha, before the 20k post limit you should have seen some threads.

What do you think sony will focus on? More details around already announced launch titles like killzone/drive club, or leave those until gamescom and spend time teasing 2014 titles?

Personally I'm less interested in the specific launch window right now, and more interested in seeing glimpses of what Sony are working on for next year.

In terms of rate of growth, I believe this thread to be the fastest in GAF's recent history.

Question is : Does GAF will survive E3 ?

Playstation meeting was just one big 503

Apparently, measures are being taken so that it may. But whether it will stand remains to be seen.

Probably not going to watch here. It will start here 2AM and tuesday is always my busiest day of the week. I simply can't afford it.

Is there a place where I can see the whole conference integral? On PSN or on the Sony website? Then I'll go on a internet blackout till I will watch it.

Big.... Boss? /salute

More posts than Wii U's sold in the same period? :P

Ouch.

The Football thread is nearing 15000 posts in 2 weeks, and that's in the off-season :O

Gopher talked about it being a generational E3 for Sony, so expect to see glimpses of games that won't be out for a long time along with the launch window stuff.

Those Wii U speculation threads near E3 last year seem like it. Went through multiple 20k threads in a matter of weeks.

It's weird but even with that huge server upgrade the site seems to go down even easier.

Guests bring advertisement views just the same, locking them out wouldn't be all that beneficial to GAF.

To be fair there is no revenue if the site goes down.

I'm still debating whether to wake up for the Sony conference or to use the spoiler-free thread. I'll probably miss the live reaction from GAF, but we'll see.

They say the same thing every e3.. 'Measures are being taken to ensure' blah blah blah..

It wouldn't feel like e3 without GAF crashing at least once

There was a twitch TV chat room setup for the Sony reveal, and it was great fun. I'm hoping there will be a similar one for the e3 conferences, and then ill read GAF a few days later to see the aftermath

Regardless of all that - this E3 is going to be crazy! Can't wait

Why not go into an "ultra-lite" mode? Completely minimalistic, zero graphics, no avatars etc. All links (including IMG tags) gets displayed as urls etc.

I know in the past, they've turned off avatars and Off-Topic. Are they planning something similar this time? Or are they just beefing up the servers.

I'd expect a balance between both or for it to lean toward games that we'll get in the future. It's expected that the PS4 will have a very solid launch lineup, so I think it's important for Sony to show that it's going to have very healthy support after that period. That's usually when consoles fall off a cliff before picking up again.

Cherish it guys, this is probably going to be the last "slow" day on GAF for at least another week or so until when things calm down after E3.
